I'm amazed at the amount of people who ripped these for the price. Consider you get what's essentially a brand new FXR with top notch suspension and then not only 180hp, but RELIABLE 180hp. How much would it realistically cost to make any Harley engine 180hp and reliable with a warranty? A clean FXR thats 30 years old sells for 10-15k, then 2-3k in suspension, another 2k in brakes and a 180hp harley engine that starts every time you turn the key with no major issues is gonna run you I'm just guessing another 10-15k (im a new dyna owner, new to the harley scene but S&S sells 120hp crate engines for 8-10k). If you were to try to emulate this with an FXR, youd spend probably close to $40,000 on the build. Then the cherry on the sundae is that its AMERICAN MADE. Buell absolutely knocked this one out of the park. Bravo for sure.
You're using a company that's been ripping its customers off for decades, as a standard for pricing. Over priced, under reliable and money grab though customization. HD is a gimmick, an image, a culture...and it's a dying culture. It's no secret HD is struggling to attract the younger generations. And hate to tell you, but the world has changed and is still in the midst of change..and the "made in America" thing is not a thing anymore. Before you attack me, don't shoot the messenger. This isn't an opinion, it's just what's happenning.
Even more American made than Harley. They have a German guy running the joint I think and they outsources our labor to India. Buel is more American than Harley!
This is awesome and I have no idea why Harley didn't listen when they released the new sportster. I've always wanted them to just make an old dyna style frame with the new Revo motor without all the futuristic styling. Buell definitely hit it out of the park with this one and I would love to own one in the future.
The Harley Sportster goes for like $16k 😂😂😂 It ain't even got dual brakes up front ahahahahaaa. Slap the Harley logo on a fat b and yall would ride her You can buy an MT10 for less, an RS660 for less. Buell needs to take over the market, make cool cruisers and pack them full of good tech. All the other guys try to sell their heritage, you dont get what u pay for
I think a lot of the hate comes from the lack of communication coming out of Buell honestly. After several years of teasing, they still don't have a price or a date available for sale yet. It's not necessarily the bike they are hating on, it's all the speculation on what it is actually going to end up, or when it will actually be available for sale. Personally I've been looking at videos of this bike for several years now and still have no new information that they weren't teasing three years ago. It is a big relief to see two bikes standing side by side though.
Idk why y'all are so excited these bikes look so incomplete.. they literally just slapped a dyna fairing and a sport bike rear end and called it a day 😂
I spent a whole hell of a lot of money and time building my dyna to what you can get stock from Buell now. If I hadn’t had a stroke I’d be on the list for one of these Buells.
I put down the pre-order deposit February of last year, and I super impressed with how close they stuck to the original concept. Big question I have is the seat height. Do you know the measurement? Also, I noticed a Boswell's shirt. You from the area? I live in mid TN, and work w/ Bumpus a lot. I think they are going to be a service dealer for Buell. Thanks or the video!
I like this, its like a resurrection of the VMAX, the current triumph rocket doesn't have any style cues to American cruisers and honda doesn't make the valkyrie anymore. This is thing is somewhere directly in between American and European cruisers, and i love that.
I’ve been enamored with the Buell super cruiser since the 1st time I seen it. I’ve owned a couple Buells in the past and loved them. Out of the box it seems to be everything I dreamed a performance cruiser could be. If they can keep the price where they claim it’ll be there’s no way I could get my current Dyna or old FXR to perform like that for that price.
Absolutely love the bike. I can only imagine how it rides and handles only thing I've seen I'm trying my best to get past is the clear cheap looking brake and clutch resivour on the handlebars.
This is game changing. The fact this bike makes comparable horsepower with liter sport bikes with twice the amount of torque is absolutely ground breaking. Not only will this completely smoke ANY cruiser offered from Harley and Indian from the dealer, it just might put them out of business as no one will want anything other than this. Also, it will bring the crowd that goes to liter bikes over to cruisers, as their main complaint is that cruisers are too slow. I own a Harley and I am so excited for this very much needed leap in innovation.
I'm definitely curious to see how it compares to the liter bikes, I currently have a chipped 2024 Gixxer 1000 and I'm looking forward to lining up with one of these.
Nah, harley riders are a different breed, it won't put them out of business. But sportbike guys like me who love the look of harleys but hate that they're fat overpriced anemic pigs are the target audience I feel. That and Dyna bro's
I love everything about it but the rear fender. It looks like a trailer fender from Tractor Supply. In my opinion it should have a more modern style aggressive rear fender that matches the muscle of the rest of the bike. I would be all about it then. Please rethink that one🙏🙏🙏🙏
Look awesome, 180 horse is mental, dont like the wheels personally, prefer multispoked but looks a weapon. Big fan of the club style dynas so this just tickles my pickle
The first pipe was so sick I hope you can get it aftermarket, die hard Harley fan and this is the only bike that’s not a Harley that I want so bad really went all out and basing it off the fxr was the best idea ever I love it!
Oof, the Super Cruiser is just pure hotness and sounds awesome! If Buell ever wants someone to test out the ADV their working on, let me know. I'd love to compare it with my Pan Am.
The riding position looks ideal 👍, The concern would be , Will the “New” Version of “Buell” be there for its customers??, or will it turn into just another fly by night attempt at bringing the company back. ? Will parts be available, warranty concerns, Dealer network ,??, Best of luck, but you’ll have to prove yourselves first. 🇺🇸
It's like someone took a Honda Rebel engine, Amazon mirrors, Pan America parts (handlebars, display and swingarm) a Dyna tank, and wrapped it with a black shopping cart. Not a fan.
It looks like a UJM riding position mixed with a classic cruiser poistion, tbh, which seems much more comfortable, phenomenally comfortable and good for control too
Can't wait to see one of these in person, definitely hoping it's the best handling cruiser out there. Although I'd like to see some videos of someone ripping it on some twisty back roads and the cornering clearance, etc.
It's actually the oil tank. Back in the day, the fuel tank was the frame and the faux tank cover was the air cleaner. Had two XBs back in the early naughts.
It looks kind of like, what's that bike? You know, American cruiser, perimeter frame, BIG air-cooled V-Twin, chunky rear fender, has a fairing and thinks it's modern but it still rides like you took a sidecar off it... The Indian Chief! That's the one I was thinking of, nothing else Seriously though, American motorcycles have a style and it doesn't belong exclusively to The Motor Company, remember that Erik Buell designed the FXR. Nor does it mean the bike has to sound like a whoopee cushion and scrape the pegs every time it leans more than 5 degrees. People keep on talking about "Performance Cruisers" and it's either a muscle cruiser with tall shocks that fries your calves at stoplights or a brash roadster like the Ducati Diavel, this is BOTH times two and I NEED IT!
Nice bike I purchased a 2002 X1 Lightning brand new it had a 1203 fuel injected Harley motor Eric Buell put alot of great ideas at that bike it handled great . I am thinking about a new bike this summer I will keep an eye out for this . Thanks 👍
That lower radiator hose is right on the exhaust… I do like the overall design as it has that Dyna look with super bike power. I’m guessing that’s the slipper clutch whining when he lets off the throttle.
“None of this stuff is hideous” the entire bike is hideous. For a bike that’s new from a company that’s going through a resurgence it looks like a parts bin special and not for the better. Performance is one thing and I love it (who doesn’t love performance) but also if I’m dumping a load of money I would also appreciate something that looks nice as well. It almost looks like the design team was split into 4 teams, engine design, frame design, swingarm design and front end design, none of which spoke to each other until it was done.
As a former owner of an S3 T I think It’s funny how they touched on the companies reputation and how important it is. Last time I checked Buell has went out of business several times, not sure I’d want to reference reputation when it comes to Buell.
When was the last time you checked? I ask because Erik Buell was the one who owned the company both time they went under. They are under new ownership and doing well now.
Technically, "Buell" never went out of business. Well not from traditional "failure", the profitable company was shut down by the new HD CEO (who had never ridden a motorcycle, contrast that with Bill) in an almost vicious manner. Harley spent 25 million dollars (more than they had spent throughout the entire life of the company) to shutter Buell and fire sale the bikes. This all after a ground-breaking on a new facility, winning an AMA championship, secret work on Buell dirt bikes, etc. (Pffft, who needs youth buyers?) Polaris made a legit offer to buy the building (with employee contracts!) and continue to build the water-cooled bikes there (Harley would have kept servicing the air-cooled ones), plus make ATV's and other products in the Wisconsin factory. Alas, HD was concerned they might be competition and chose to slash and burn. Within months, Erik was utilizing part of the facility again to make and support EBR race bikes. Shortly thereafter, HD reversed course regarding production bikes and allowed Erik to sell EBR (but NOT Buell) production models and with the 1190 engine. EBR likely expanded far too quickly and over-extended itself after 3 years. Indian company Hero stepped in with investment and things were looking up but when the finances started getting shaky again there was concern Hero was going to try a hostile takeover. Yes, there's another reality where Hero own's the IP! EBR filed for receivership in April of 2015. That's really the only true "going out of business" in this scenario; the 2009 event was more of a falling on your sword-type thing. Or akin to Harley pushing Buell onto their own sword, perhaps. And the DEALERS. Ugh, going into a Harley dealer and being treated like a second class citizen was not fun. They literally didn't WANT to sell them half the time. Corporate idiotically thought of Buell's as only a stepping stone to a $30,000 cruiser! Visiting Kaplan Cycles a few Fridays ago, seeing two new Hammerheads in-person (one was sold and being picked-up) by a dealer EXCITED to carry them was refreshing. And they are certainly capable of servicing and repairing the 1125/1190 platforms. If this leads to a network of dealers who could potentially also service the recently orphaned water-cooled models this would only be a good thing for existing owners.
What happened to Buell? Where can we get their bikes now? I remember their bikes were the first bikes that caught my eyes the first time I started riding motorcycles.
First thing to go would be that tail-light delete and front turn-signal delete, hopefully it doesn’t make it to final production and it better be LED’s. Another review said the fairing is an off the shelf Memphis Shades? It actually fits the look perfectly👌🏽
Anyone that talks bad about Buell's has never ridden one. the 1125CR with taller bars is a killer bike. The worst part about the bike is the Harley switches and electrical that's prone to failure. Of course this super cruiser is going to be reallyy good
Damn that looks like it rips! I want one, but hopefully it aint out of my budget, and that they’d have a manual shop/how-to videos available for the customers.
The bike looks killer. My only complain would be those cheesy break and clutch reservoirs also that red starter button. Hopefully they can offer premium replacement parts. Just nitpicking a little bit.
That's not nitpicking. I have the same complaints and more. It's geared toward both sport bike and Harley Riders. For the latter, I would've thought that they would put Harley styled controls and reservoirs on it. It's already got most everything else Harley styled. They really screwed up the frame, by making short, round fender struts. How can you add stuff to it? It's also not very supportive. I've seen the fender shaking, when people rev it up, sitting. The bottom, front of the fender is a bit short, too. There's a little too much space showing through.
@@RayfordRaySiegelI'm not too familiar with "Harley styled controls and reservoirs" can you point me to a Harley with a radial brake master cylinder so I can see their take on a reservoir?
Thanks for the review and I always think you make fair and knowledgeable assessments. I can only compare it to my HD LRS, look forward to a demo op for comparison.
Some coffin style mirrors would look great ! I am waiting too Buell for this bike, and a price to go with it, and available accessories !! If this bike runs and feels like my 1290 KTM Super adv.. I will be ordering one !
looks awesome ,great lines like a predator. i had an FXR and I am happy i have a chance to own the latest greatest tribute to it. im guessing there are probably 5-6000 bikes preordered
Great work.the gold forks set it off perfectly(my opinion)..any chance of a ABS equipped version???? as the aussie govt wont let it be registered without....? Cheers GT
Definitely cool bike, cant imagine ill be ordering one as I bought my LRST before they first announced the super cruiser. Hopefully they will have mid controls for it though. Race exhuast sounds pretty decent as well
What are the quirks gonna be? My 07 ulysses needed TPS resets, intake gaskets, rear wheel bearings, breather can, and connector 77 modification just after 3yrs. My 98 S3 needed rear shock replacement, ecm replacement, and the Buell tank stickers bubbled off after 5 yrs. Both bikes have 15k miles on them now.
I like your Boswell’s Hooligan shirt. I have a couple of those myself. Speaking of such, I was suppose to get a shirt from you, but never did. No biggee. Just wondering if that’s off now.
basically its my r1200gs but its lighter and faster. but more American Harley looks. lets get some nice hard bags in line with that tail and I am sold!!

I want to like it, I'm a 6 foot rider and I prefer a bigger frame. And I'd have to ask if a bigger motor would be in the books for the future?
This is going to put Buell on the map in a big way.
Damn that looks like it rips! I want one, but hopefully it aint out of my budget, and that they’d have a manual shop/how-to videos available for the customers.
This could be the new clubstyle platform king of next year....😏
The bike looks killer.
It looks awesome! I hope they will sell it with a more analog display.
Some coffin style mirrors would look great ! I am waiting too Buell for this bike, and a price to go with it, and available accessories !! If this bike runs and feels like my 1290 KTM Super adv.. I will be ordering one !
Thanks for this video!
It looks like the new Indian line. Love both 🙌
looks awesome ,great lines like a predator. i had an FXR and I am happy i have a chance to own the latest greatest tribute to it. im guessing there are probably 5-6000 bikes preordered
Great work.the gold forks set it off perfectly(my opinion)..any chance of a ABS equipped version???? as the aussie govt wont let it be registered without....? Cheers GT
I’m French and I just want to see it coming in Europe ! I love this bike. Just would add a better s’est for duo and bags.
no ABS or Euro5 so chances are zero 🥲
@@svenolav5275 I hate people like you that come with irrefutable facts and breaks people dream... shame on you ;)
Nice video, congrats on getting to ride it good luck with future.
Take my money!
Definitely cool bike, cant imagine ill be ordering one as I bought my LRST before they first announced the super cruiser. Hopefully they will have mid controls for it though.
Race exhuast sounds pretty decent as well
Can't wait for it to arrive in the UK.
This is the dream bike.
I like the style of some of the new buell's but I also like the style of the first one as it looked like a duel sport bike like the old enduro bikes
I like your Boswell’s Hooligan shirt. I have a couple of those myself. Speaking of such, I was suppose to get a shirt from you, but never did. No biggee. Just wondering if that’s off now.
Seat hight and cc is similar to my r1200GS. lets get some nice hard bags in line with that tail and a old school speedo (no digital) and I am sold!!
Now king of the baggers version and start racing
I can’t wait to see those bikes and MotoAmerica king of the baggers
VERY NICE BIKE !!! Any chance to get one in France one day ??? I HOPE
They have said they'll be being released in Europe 🤟
Would love to see and ride one in person. Bike looks awesome.
Buell is Back?????
Does this mean I'll be able to get parts for my 07 XB12Sc again?
Yes it would be nice 👍
I like the exhaust better on that then some of the concepts.
Which dealership is going to sell the Buell brand?
Harley
I was thinking about a Harley Pam am, rode one last year but this is way cooler. I hope it's affordable
The motorcycle looks amazing 🤯
Nice!
Man those roads in México really look nice for a beautiful bike ride.
Love it 🥰
So excited for this bike
The Facebook pages were real about these! I’m about it!
lets get some nice hard bags in line with that tail and a old school speedo (no digital) and I am sold!!
