The tank is actually a red with a reallly orange pearl I have the exact paint on my bike it’ll looks good in the sun cameras don’t do the paint justice
Man, that bike looks like a Craigslist special with those matte fairings, faded orange stickers and the red tank. Such a cheap, sloppy look. 😞

Great work! I would have been tempted to repaint the tank satin black to match the fairings. But being that it’s a customer bike, you gotta work within the parameters given! You’ve certainly given it a new lease on life.
I do dig the fairings. It’s like the reverse of the 2020 ZX-6R orange/black scheme.
So dope, i like the orientation of the exhaust, i have never seen it like that before.
Fun video. I like how you catch details like the leaky front brake reservoir. Red gas tank was a bit of an oversight for this video. Excited to see more!
I would have kept the bike red or painted the tank black would have looked better. But, to each thier own.

Everyone talking about the orange tank must not realize that this isn’t a bike Rob bought. This is a customer’s bike. He’s more than likely just doing the work the customer wanted. If the guy never asked Rob to paint the tank to match the new fairings, why would he?

Are you forgetting the customer gave him this bike to fix which he passed off to another mechanic to de engine work who then horded the bike for months before the customer and ROB had to go get back , so the least he could do is a GOOD CLEAN job for the customers convenience after having his bike damn near stolen. Giving it to rob to work on for him !
Did you forget to put clamps on the coolant reservoir pipe outlets????
It doesn't really make a difference, but the rear axle is usually in the other way round, with the castle nut on the left 😎👍
Aren't the pinch bolts a 1 time use only...also is the coolant in the engine/radiator the same as the resivour?

Should have wrapped the tank in a matte black. That red tank just ruined the great look of the whole bike. Just my 2 cents.

I love the in-ground lift, and it still works great! I use it every day!

Hi I’m rebuilding the back end of my Kawasaki and just wanting to know can you over tighten the swing arm Spindle nut and cause damage
I dont know what settings your impact is set on, but i don't think someone should use an impact wrench on something like the coolant reservoir. Probably the reason these plastic tabs break off, using a handtool and tighten it snug is everything it needs.
Hay I took out the starter switch and cleaned it because I was having starting issues I'm trying to reinstall the blinker switch box and the plate that the start button contacts it's a pain in my ass getting it in I'm going to break one of them getting frustrated please give me a way to put both in without braking it please help ASAP
Aren't those brake cables a bit too old? I've seen somewhere that you need to replace them every 3 years or so. And that steel ones last longer and that when buying a used bike with lots miles on it, if the brake lines look oike the original ones the bike came with to immediately change them. Same with clutch.
Guys been waiting for his bike a year and a half and he gets back a Craigslist special , you coulda atleast power washed it and cleaned it up properly for making him wait that long or at least color match the tank for him jeeeeez
Thread locker have 2 colour. Blue and red. Both works the same. The red one is much stronger than the blue ones. Most likely if you dont want to unlock the bolt anymore.

My favorite part was the half assed cleaning of the bike lol , that thing is begging to be pressure washed but nope , it gets the half empty bottle of engine gunk & dirty shop rag whipe down special

Agreed. If you're keeping the tank stock should have gone with red lettering possible red pin stripe on the wheels. As is, it looks wrecked and someone just sprayed the fairings black.

Hey Rob! Love the videos. I recently just bought an ‘06 636 and after about 30 mins of riding it, it back fires a lot and then it dies. I replaced the fuel pump and it still isn’t working. My thought was the ecu overheats: I have the same exhaust setup ( the tail pipe generates a lot of
heat and pretty much fries the ecu) and I was curious if you experienced any similar issues and how did you resolve them? Thanks for making great videos :)

You could have a bad ecu I have a 05 that I had to switch a 06 ecu in cause the 05 ones get to hot after 45 minutes of riding
@@coreysprings5892 That's what I'm thinking. I originally replaced the fuel pump but alot of forums said that the ecu was the problem. I'll give it a try, thanks!
