I never saw anyone do that style of quilt as you go except for my grandmother I’m not sure if it was because she had moved from North Carolina where they raised cotton, and you had to quilt a quarter inch apart to keep the cotton from shifting in your quilt piece. It’s been a long time ago. I’m 70 now and I was just a little bitty thing learning how to quilt back then because I think my grandmother died in 1966.

@@PrimaryMathsWithMamta That’s the batting. I used felt for these squares. You can use felt, quilt batting or even cotton fabric in the middle. 😊🧵🪡
