I've watched several videos on how to quilt as you go and this is the first one to actually make sense! You explained this concept fabulously! Thank you so much!! I'm excited to try out this method now :)
This just shows how to do the technique. After that it depends on what you do with it. You can bind it into a potholder, placemat, table runner, etc, or use it in a pattern that calls for a quilted panel. If you’re joining some of these blocks together, we have a video showing one method of doing that: th-cam.com/video/XtPGfRrGx4g/w-d-xo.html
Sure! You can make quilt as you go blocks in whatever size you choose, then use this method to join them together: th-cam.com/video/XtPGfRrGx4g/w-d-xo.html
I see this video is two years old so I hope you will see my question. Do you wash your fabric first? I do a lot of sewing and the only quilt I have made is a T shirt quilt. It took me several months because I wanted to do my best with it. 2025 is the year I make one or more quilts. I have watched lots of videos and this videos is the best I have seen. I have watched it several times. I have purchased all I need to make this quilt and plan to start this month. Thanks much.

i love your fabric, would you be happy to share where you got them from, the colours are beautiful
I'm so sorry, that fabric was from an old bundle we had in our stash, no idea where it came from! 🌷
Nice technique. But what do you do with the edges/borders ? Just trim them ? If so, wouldn't the edges get loose threads, especially after washing ?

Can you piece these together to make a quilt, or would the seams be bulky?
You can! We have a video showing one way to do that:
