Thanks for being such a nice teacher. I am seeing all your videos one by one. I am planning to recycle my old dresses to make collages. I am in the process of converting my discarded dresses into fabrics. Now I still have to collect threads , needles etc. Indue course of time I will start my collage.
I forgot to mention in my video that I really enjoy your talking during the video and it's so much better than awful music. You voice is very relaxing and easy to listen to.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I started making this piece today and it's my first time doing slow stitching. I started out copying as closely as I could, like following a recipe for the first time. But once I started outlining the pieces, I started to choose my own colors rather than copying the same ones that you chose for each piece. I'm still working on outlining. Hopefully I can work on it more tomorrow. Thank you again. I'm excited to have finally started my first piece!
I'm not understanding why the stitches need to be so close together. Batting these days really don't require that. I use prints for a variety on my quilt top. But, I like to be able to See the variety of the prints. 😏 When I quilt with this type of thread, I like to do free style wavy lines, but they are within the spacing recommended on the quilt batting package. 💁♀️
That sounds like a beautiful way to quilt. For the slow stitching I do, the stitches are decorative, expressive and artistic and not intended to function as quilting. It’s all very freeform where a little or a lot of stitching can be added. I tend to stitch very heavily, more like painting and mark making but there are no rules! Even when I hand quilt on wholecloth I tend to stitch closer than is necessary for function like here th-cam.com/video/cgA0jeTxp3c/w-d-xo.html
I am so happy I found your channel ! Really encouraging to give a try to stitch with relax. I have visual problems and all’ the projects are presented as easy but I try and realize much to me regret that I can’t do it. Thank you! Where are you? I’m in Italy
Thank you! I have a video coming out in September addressing alternate options for hand sewing for anyone with physical or visual challenges. Hello from Canada! 😃
Thank you for this great tutorial! I’ve been wanting to start slow stitching but was afraid of all the stitches. This is what I was looking for, a “bite size” project I can work on and not be afraid of.❤😊
I'm finally back working on the piece again. We've been traveling 2400 miles in our 5th wheel with our three cats from Arizona to Western New York so that has kept us busy. I made some crosses and circles today. The circles were surprisingly difficult but I was able to do them. Actually the crosses were a bit of a challenge too. But I'm sure it will get easier.
I finally finished it tonight Jo! It's very similar to yours but not exact. Thank you! It was a good experience for my very first slow stitch project. I'll try to post it on Instagram so you can see it
