Personally I feel that Nintendo have played it safe, almost too safe with switch lite designs. They have really stagnanted creatively in the past few years and lost some of the flare from previous generations.
Nintendo has a knack for overcorrecting the WRONG things when it come to their consoles. For some reason charm and creative designs contributed to the less than stellar sales of the 3DS and Wii U.
The dialga and palkia is good because of the black buttons, the zacian and zamazenta one's are already getting yellowed. I like it because it's discret and I used to have the ds lite dialga and palkia edition. It reminds me of the gba sp graphite as well.
There is a lot to like about the Sword and Shield edition... It's just that backplate that makes me sad haha. A channel member shout-out at the end of videos is also a great idea!
That's a solid tier list, even though I would put the Dialga and Palkia Edition in the good category. What I don't like about the Switch Lite is all the bright colorways and white buttons. It hurts my eyes and it is a bit distracting while playing. The design on the back of the Dialga and Palkia edition is lame and lazy as hell, but at least the colors look clean. Like you said, it could have just been a standard edition, and I would have loved it. Also, the new Zelda one is cheating. I don't even care about the Triforce logos and shit, gold consoles with black buttons will always look magnificent.
The Switch Lite is absolutely perfect for people who can't afford the regular Switch and don't own a TV or don't want to use a TV for gaming. Extra bonuses: Lighter which makes it easier to hold, smaller which makes it easier to carry around. I'm sorry but saying things like "It doesn't have a place in the Nintendo Switch family" while only looking at your needs and budget feels a bit limited and misleading for people who could actually make use of it.
I didnt say it doesn't have a place in the Nintendo Switch family... I said it doesn't have a place like the 2DS did. There is definetely a market out there for the Switch Lite and I never claimed otherwise. All I'm saying is that the market for people who want a Switch Lite is far more niche than that of the 2DS back in the day.
Honestly, your opinion is completely valid. If you compare the special edition 3DS’s, this special edition switch lites are extremely lame. The animal crossing ones are not bad, but I do agree that they could have easily put a design on the front, or just spiced up the buttons added something more unique.
The best one on here is in the ugly category. Not sure if you held any of them in hand or seen them in person but the Diamond/Pearl and the Hyrule edition has a pearlescent effect on the body. No other Switch, lite or otherwise, has that effect. It really elevates the designs of both of them. Also, the Diamond/Pearl one is a call back to the original DS Lite from 2007.
Switch lite is the best console, because it’s really lite and the smallest, I’m traveling all the time, and the size is really important for me, and my new hyrule edition is my love❤
I haven't bought any Nintendo Switch Lite, non really "popped" to me. But I decided to pre-order the Hyrule Edition. I'll definitely see if it was worth it the day I have it in my hands. In my opinion, it's the best looking Nintendo Switch Lite in the market now. I would've definitely preferred an SNES or NES edition though.
I just got mine, the gold REALLY does pop and i might get a clear case to protect it. But I also might but some buttons cause I also love button swaps.
You showed a picture of the hyrule edition new 3ds XL but they’re not the same. The gold here looks much better. Also the 3ds version has no interior design and the colour scheme is the same as the generic models, so you wouldn’t even know you’re holding a special edition unless you turned the system around. (You also need a screwdriver to remove the back plate to access the micro sd card)
Palkia and Dialga Edition at least does not look like a toy to me, glad I got mine on Black Friday And I wish we had some purple or bright red one with same finish
I agree what everything you said especially with the hyrule one about to come out. I was hoping for them to actually care about the consumer and make the designs better. It’s still cool but idk if ima get it.
tbh, hyrule is a bit to much, honestly i dont like the look of the lite in general, i feel like it was designed to look inferior to the normal one and the oled. I think its the same color console and the white joysticks, otherwise the lite > normal switch overall
In my opinion the switch lite is as pointless as the 2ds existing however more options for the consumer is better sure not everyone liked 3d but taking a core feature of games that make them play and look better was and isn’t worth it second hand market 3ds’s with 3d are way more expensive than 2ds’s not to mention you could emulate it the switch lite is a smaller Nintendo switch maybe we can mod it to play in docked mode in the future one day
showed up on my fyp!!! i remember you from the scambaiting days lol i lost access to my yt old my account, google isnt helpful lol hope all is well man -ScammerHouse
What bothers me is the double bezels 6:52 .. you have the golden bezel, and then you have the black bezel. Not very aesthetically pleasing to the eye . If only this special edition managed to have a slightly bigger screen (minus the bezel) then WOW it would be gorgeous and worth a buy even if you own an oled already. But as it stands it's just like the older ones.
@@kannmansomachengehtaberauc9881 ya and this "side" is super ugly and doesn't look like something from 2024. It's like old tablets vs. New tablets, or old laptops vs new laptops. it's a thing of the past
So this dude basically just made a tier list without even owning one of these, I own the Isabel special edition, and it’s different from the picture that you just showed, the pink is more vibrant giving that animal crossing feel, but the Turquoise, alright? Not blue, it’s Turquoise, is pretty much more simpler than the pink version, own one of these first before making a tier list, also, you’re comparing the switch lite special editions with the switch special edition, the only special things about the switch and switch oled are the joy cons and the dock, that’s all you’re paying for for that extra money, basically, you could’ve just bought yourself a pair of joy cons with Zelda design and a cover for your dock with a Zelda design, switch lite is a one solid piece bruh, and you said it’s not part of the switch family? Well, you’re very much wrong there buddy, the switch lite is mostly for handheld users, it’s much lighter, it doesn’t produce heat as much as the original does, sure it doesn’t have the things inside of the motherboard to dock it, at least it doesn’t feel wobbly, you’re basically getting the things that the og switch and oled switch can do, except for the joy cons and docked mode, but you can still buy a stand for a much cheaper price and connect a controller if you have one
Absolutely wild that my video got you so worked up to write this essay lmao. I read two lines of it, got bored, and stopped. Ty for the free engagement. -Woz

PUTTING THE BEST ONE IN UGLY IS CRAZY LMAO
I just commented the same thing lol
The Hyrule edition is fire, I preordered one as soon as it became available in the US
I like most of their designs cause i don't like cluttered designs distracting my gaming
Nice video, I liked the Sword and Shield version tbh.
Btw we need a channel member shout out at the end of the video!!! Would be a cool perk to have

Yes.
Palkia and dialga looks sick though. It's more metallic than grey, looks so good

4:53 Why are they Gold and Silver. It’s Diamond and PEARL version. This should have been in the The Stupid
Its a based off a design they used for a special edition DS lite
6:56 I just found out they had a Hyrule edition switch and need it but honestly my joycons got stick drift pretty quick I’m skeptic on getting this.
the BDSP switch lite desigin is supposed to be a call back to the diamond and peral special edition DS, so that why its like that
Woz99: WE NEED MORE GOING ON IN THE FRONT

Put the good pokemon, black into the good bro😢😢😢
i mean theres really not much surface area on the front to be creative besides colored buttons
How dare you put the black on black Pokémon one in ugly. It’s the best one.
The dpad on the oled sucks. The switch is cumbersome after a while playing handheld. The option for controllers on the oled rocks though
the black one is cool
