This is one of those ships that as soon as I saw it in the show - a colossal alien ship that absolutely dwarfed the Cerritos and kicked a lot of butt - I knew it would be a prime candidate for a STO ship. I'm not super interested in it; Juggernauts aren't really my jam, but it's certainly a cool ship for them to add as the final season of Lower Decks is coming out. Am a little surprised that they're _still_ avoiding the Obena though.
I’m also surprised we’ve gotten almost every other Lower Decks native Starship except the Excelsior/Sovereign Hybrid. I really like the look of the ship, and I think it would be a cool addition to Star Trek Online. But then again, I do have some concerns about what the Obena would be like in STO 1: Is it going to be another double Miracle Worker? The California, the Parliament, and the Texas all had double Miracle Worker seating. And Miracle Worker only had a few useful Starship Traits. 2: Is it going to be compatible with the pre-existing Excelsior model in game, and its variants? Or is it going to be its own ship like the Excelsior II, with limited customization options? 3: Is it going to be something somewhat accessible, or is it going straight into the Infinity Lockbox, where the chances of even getting a T6 Starship are so slim it’s completely out of the question for most people?
@@kylegiroux3643 The STO team tend to try to make scaling accurate for ships (I think this might be in part a mandade from Paramount/CBS) and the Obena is supposedly larger than the Excelsior. I've thought they could maybe do it as the new skin for a Legendary version of the Excelsior II - it'd be expensive, but it would be an outright purchase rather than gambling and it'd be an account unlock if they did that.
I wouldn't say they're avoiding Obena, it likely just hasn't fallen into their schedule or keeps getting pushed aside for something more . They don't just release ships whenever they want, certain ships get released at certain times for a reason. Pundus actually pointed out that this is the third year in a row we got a bird themed ship released in November for American Thanksgiving (last one was the Shrike, and before that was the Preator Warbird). Hopefully we'll see Obena soon.
@@Stu1701 Ohhh, right! I saw a post pointing out the repeated bird theming in November, but because I'm from a country that doesn't have Thanksgiving, I didn't put together that it wasn't a coincidence! I guess that's fair enough then.
I feel like we had one last month, but my sense of time is badly skewed at the moment, so may not be on the money there, but if I am, definitely not before late December.
Its a Vaad with better seating it seems... not looking forward to the feast at the end of january honestly wish they would end on both pc and console in december as I am not at all interested in another feast. My event campaign has been done for months LOL

If it makes you feel better, I'm American and I also hadn't put that together until Pundus pointed it out to me lol
The areola
It gives me Son'a battlecruiser vibes. I wonder whether systematically its "an Areore juggernaut" or the "Areore-class juggernaut".
I assume it's the former, as Areore was the name of the species that built the ship.
Picking it up just to have some variety over the Vaad.
Since this ship is potentially quite expensive, because of the odds of the lockbox drop…it shouldn’t have crappy stats and ability
Off topic question: any ideal when the next Phoenix Box Event might be??? I really need to get me some T6-X Upgrades!!!!

I highly doubt Trinary Strike can be buffed like other weapons. As Triniary ignore shields. It is going to be all hull damage.
that's a good point, I hadn't thought about that.
The console is broken currently. it's not getting by buffed by anything at all

i would rather have the Drukmari (not sure that how its spelt) ships
Drookmani, I think it was. :)
I mean, closer than I'd have got, and we all knew what you were talking about.
I saw this ship in game today and it's just fugly!
Bland as hell clickable. utterly useless trait.
omg you people complain about everything
