  • It also has a sensible approach to the fully sealed front panel design, and a 5.25" bay... maybe this is the way to cut down the video length. Ah well, watch if you want, skip when you want, and stop when you can't take it anymore. Good luck!

    Regarding the vents on the side panel being removed on the P10C, I believe the idea here is to help maintain positive pressure. I would prefer the P10C over the P10Flux as the P10C prevents leakage of pressure out of the side panel. Its better that pressure is maintained so that air escapes out the back of the case after it has had a chance to cool PC components. Air escaping from the PSU area is a waste of the air pushed into the case by the front case fans. Note also that in the P10Flux even the additon of the PSU shroud fan would not be sufficient to prevent loss of pressure. In the P10C it is still worth installing the PSU shroud fan as it will prevent loss of pressure out of the bottom of the case if your PSU is shorter than its dust filter.

    I bought this case myself it's one of the very few good cases that comes with an optical drive bay, which I still use regularly for burning and ripping discs, and I didn't want to have to resort to an external device.

      what do you think of the case?

    • @SBBUK
      @SBBUK ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@morgogs I'd recommend it, I don't really have any complaints. Obviously the stylimg is very conservative as it's basically just a black box but I don't like gamer style products with loads of LEDs etc. Included fans are good quality and not noisy. I run the fans at the slowest speed on the built in controller and don't have any overheating problems with Ryzen 5600x and Rx 6700

    Nice case, reminds me a bit of Coolermaster's silencio silent cases-which never really where! An a-door-ably short video ;-)

    Acoustic foam lining does more for absorbing the resonance of the case itself than the sound of the fans. Some thin mental cases just sound tinny. Adding acoustic foam helps absorb these resonant vibrations. Also 5.25 bays are great for adding hard drive hot swap bays.

    Not a bad case. It can actually be silent with better fans and the opening in the Flux version should provide better GPU cooling like it does in cases with a similar gimmick.

    • @AVTechy
      @AVTechy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, not terrible like many "silent" cases can be. The Flux would be the one to go for though I think, there's not much reason not to.

    12:11 Whole backside is budget. That stupid rib will scratch and bump into everything. There is a reason higher end cases have the whole section set back and the screws on the inside of the case.

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv

    2:19 Cut out the fangrill = cut out the noise. At least it's a decent distance removed the fan or the noise would be worse. Either way, who needs a grill on the outside on the rear anyway? Cut, cut cut.

    I just got a P10C delivered and I'm disappointed. Out of the box the case is rattling. The side doors are loose. One screw is missing. The threads are low quality. This is not acceptable, particularly for the price.

    4:54 Antec website says *"Front Door: Sound-dampening foam with 0.5 mm steel panel for absorbing energy"*

    • @AVTechy
      @AVTechy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The majority of that panel is plastic, including the brushed effect to the front. It's definitely not brushed steel. It's been a while since I've been hands on with the case, so there may well be a sheet of steel to its core.

    • @jcvjcvjcvjcv
      @jcvjcvjcvjcv ปีที่แล้ว

    So could thecooling and noise reduction be improved by replacing 3 of the 4 the fans with PWM type?

    Hi, I bought this case and set up by myself. Does it included buzzer? I didn't hear any beep at booting. Not sure if my installation is right.

    • @AVTechy

      I don't think it came with a motherboard speaker. You'll have to check the accessories box part of the video to be sure.
      Motherboard speakers aren't necessary, but can be helpful when diagnosing faults. You can buy them online for next to nothing if you feel you'd prefer one.

    How thick is the used steel anyway?

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv
    @jcvjcvjcvjcv ปีที่แล้ว

    Why on earth is there a full steel honeycomb behind the front fans? Just to make more noise? WHY?

    • @AVTechy
      @AVTechy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Eh, it makes the chassis more rigid and prevents cables from hitting the fans. But I agree, get rid of it and open up the airflow.

    • @jcvjcvjcvjcv
      @jcvjcvjcvjcv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AVTechy
      The rigidity issue is self-inflicted by using 0.5 mm steel.
      There is already an inherent audible warning when cables hit the fans.

    • @AVTechy
      @AVTechy  ปีที่แล้ว

      @jcvjcvjcvjcv I get what you mean, but there's more to it than that. We can talk about returns, recesses, extrusions, bracing, you name it. There's an economic and weight issue to adding thicker steel, not to mention higher manufacturing and tooling costs if thicker steel or more returns are implemented.
      It's just not as simple as use thicker steel. For all we know there was a resource access issue when this thing was being manufactured... Which there was. Some materials were more scarce or just not available, or more expensive. It might have been value engineered down to this solution for all we know (there were massive shifts in many industries due to material shortages around this time, and there still are).
      It's not safe to assume the answer is just about the thickness of the steel, and the call being made to do such a thing being ill informed or poor judgement.

    • @jcvjcvjcvjcv
      @jcvjcvjcvjcv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AVTechy Nah, it's just a budget frame (with 0.5mm steel) masquerading around like a high-end case with foam, USB-C, etc.
      Note that Antec also doesn't list the steel thickness in the specsheet of the P10C, but they do list the 0.8mm steel for the P101
      I would be happy to pay significantly more to get the same case with a decent frame, but alas... the choice in modern cases WITH 5.25" slot is pretty much ZERO.
