I bought (from Andertons - you're welcome) a Sire V2 P-bass - sight unseen, took a total flyer on it. I trusted these guys earlier video reviews. Can NOT put it down. Beautifully made, massive tonal range, plays like a dream. Completely surpassed my expectations. Shockingly good for the money. Just get one.
Oh wow great to hear, that would be my next one I would buy 🔥 I have two Squiers, one p bass one jazz bass, I just bought one of these V7 basses, if the p bass is anything like this one I'm sure I'll love it! 🤤
I bought a V7 in this line, the black with maple fingerboard 🤤 I'm glad I could find mine! They're hard to find apparently, had to go to eBay for mine. But I absolutely love this instrument, I mainly play passive right now anyway this bass sounds so so good, it's like my 70's vintage modified squier bass with Seymour Duncan pickups swapped in, but so so so much better 😍 especially the low B string, such clarity and sustain in the low low notes, this bass is awesome and worth every penny
There's something so charming about Nathan and Lee's relationship. The mutual respect and affection is so apparent. They're clearly having a lot of fun without the video coming across as self-indulgent (like some other videos on this channel)
Absolutely love mine. Bit the bullet and bought a V7 Vintage from you guys, and I don't like not trying a guitar or bass first. But I'm glad I took the risk. Feels and sounds amazing for that price.
@@louierubio Yes, it's got a great low end and the pre-amp gives it such a wide variety of tones and sounds. Definitely the most versatile bass I've played in this price range. I'll be buying a second as a backup for sure! 😁😁
Matt Black wow interesting. Yea might start w the V7 second gen ash maple 5 string. Probably just a placebo effect but it sounds better to me than the V9 or V10 or the vintage or any of the alder bodies.
I believe the vintage ones have thinner necks over the current (v2) V7's as well. That said, damn, we love Lee. This channel has become so great to us bass players.
You guys have such great jams, whether you're both on bass or like today Nathan on guitar. You both sound great. That, *and* we get to learn about cool gear.
Bloody hell 2! That intro jam was just slamming. I'm thinking if you want a killer funk guitar take that's in time, let the bassist do it. Small suggestions (take or leave), I'm blasting the jam and then the talking comes in it knocks me over. Maybe just lower and compresses the talking stuff and let the music shine. Outro jam at the end switching instruments would have been really fun even it wasn't technically perfect. That intro alone makes this the best video I've seen on Andertons ever. Will Lee and Steve Lukather would both dig this one. Huge kudos to everyone involved.
Great guitar playing. I’m a guitarist so not into bass but yes I know he’s in Level 42. Can u bring Nathan on to the guitar channel to teach that intro? That was some tasty funk. FYI great bass playing too. What distortion pedal was Nathan using?
i know this isn't related to this particular video, but PLEASE make a video about the road worn telecasters with that new limited addition metallic purple one, I think it would be a really cool video, and i'm very curious to see how it stacks up against the almighty Danish Pete's purple beast. also, great job on this video :-)
Last summer I was talikng with a luthier about these basses and he told me that a common problem of Sire basses is you need to put new batteries very often in order to keep the brightness and to sound well. Is it true? Does this new generation improve that problem (in case it was true)? Greetings from Spain!!
Pablo Ruiz Fernández I’ve had mine for about 2 years now and haven’t had to replace the batteries. I do take care of the battery life when I do play though (switching to passive mode or just unplugging whenever I’m off stage during church service) and I haven’t had to replace or noticed any tone drop but I guess it’ll come soon haha
I'd love to see you two do a blindfold challenge with basses. Fender vs Squier, Gibson vs Epiphone, G&L USA vs Tribute, etc.. I'd love to watch and listen to that.
Marcus Miller is not from Croydon, though I did have to check Wikipedia and I was greatly disappointed. I will still buy one of his basses this week, that mid sweep @ 11:00 though lol
So Nat how about Andertons unofficial funk band ? :)golden fingers. Other basssist is awesome. Came for the v7 but replayed first few minutes 50 times not more...
I think he made a mistake saying that the black face plates means its an alder bass. I just ordered an ash vintage V7 from sire directly and the face plate is black. :| is it possible that they sent me the wrong one?
I know it's in his blood, but Nathan is a really mean fretless player, I his brother is the best player of all time, but Nathan sells himself short, his guitar solos are cool too, and he's above himself, well done boys, entertaining as ever. Long may you continue.
I bought my new Sire last december. A V7 Vintage with natural color and black pickguard. It says that its a "V7 Vintage Ash" I'm quite confused if its a V7 Vintage ash or alder or swamp ash. Im asking because there's a 100$ difference from alder to ash. Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks Bass friends!
That intro bassline, oh lord. So damn groovy and T H I C C

Wow, I knew that Nathan plays guitar, but had no idea just how good he is! Great jams as always!
He plays guitar for level 42
Never knew that. Learn something new every day, right?
@@randy4903 yep
I saw them about 3 years ago and thought he looked familiar. He's an awesome muscian
Ha ha ha excellent … it’s Nathan King 😉
Great guitar playing Mr. Nathan!
Yep
Wow. Lee killed it today. Superb playing. Very impressed 🔥🔥🔥
Huge guitar fan but goddamn I love the bass playing in this and your last video. Just totally mellows me out.
Lord knows I don't need another bass, but the temptation is strong! Those pentatonic runs were magical.

Boys justa slicing the intro..dig in..I like I like..love that bass..I remember seeing Marcus Moller backing up Jeff Healy SNL.. absolutely deadly..
Pete's cutlass is so nice.
How about a Capt meets Nathan? Be good to hear about his gear.
I bought the 4 string version of the one Lee's using at the start. It's outrageous. 100% recommend it all the way.
Absolutely love mine. Bit the bullet and bought a V7 Vintage from you guys, and I don't like not trying a guitar or bass first. But I'm glad I took the risk. Feels and sounds amazing for that price.
I’m thinking of getting one too and can’t try it first. Does it sound beefy/burpy? Thanks!

Matt Black wow ok. It’s between this and the V9. Maybe I need to get both haha
@@louierubio I'm going to add more to my arsenal for the studio and for live. Seems to be a lot of bass for the price haha

Both of you are monsters man...what a jam ....

MISSED YOU GUYS, CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR YOU ALL DO THE SIRE F10 6 STRING SHOOTOUT ❤❤❤
This video totally sold me on getting one these, better than shelling out $1500 on the fender
God, I fuckin love watching these two jam it out
I was talking myself out of the 5 string, the Heavy Groove right here is a very strong and persuasive "argument" for the 5 string!!
These bass demos are just getting better all the time. Well in fellas!
I have one of and I am very happy with it, yes it is a bit lacking in bottom end but through my ampeg it is more than meaty enough
I came to comment how incredible looks this guitar neck.
You guys have such great jams, whether you're both on bass or like today Nathan on guitar. You both sound great. That, *and* we get to learn about cool gear.
Finally someone actually using the B string in a demo
Guys when the two of you, it is something beyond comprehension! You are great!
Intro jam,,, FANTASTIC,,,thank you for all your bass videos,,,,frm Arkansas USA 🎸🤠
I know you were just messing around at the beginning of that jam, but it sounded terrific.
Unfreakinreal groove at the open, gents. Wow.
I could listen to the bass intro jams all day.
Nice sounding basses, fun to watch you guys jam.
The roasted flame Maple neck on this straty music Man is OUTSTANDING !!
That sounds fantastic. Such a massive tonal range!

love the Dance with me Jam at the end, sounds great lads!
Great intro chaps.
Lee, you animal, killer lines as always! Nathan, too. Awesome guys. When's the record coming out? :-)
Yea, that moves the crowd .
Right well presented, lads .
That was one funky intro. I could listen to that riff for ages.
Droog II right? It was great.
I just wish they were more exciting.
I've been looking into them and I just can't get excited.
Now that guitar solo at the start! That was Hot!
that intro bass line is tasty
Always excellent play demos
Man that fretless sounds killer!
Fair skills Chaps; enjoy the show. Thanks : D
Not all ash body’s come with the tortoise shell guard that’s only the metallic red
One thing to be aware of on the neck - 7.25" Radius and Narrow Frets!

I really like these pickups and pre amp.
Nathan any chance of telling us what pedals you were using? Especially, for distortion? Thx mate. Awesome playing.

This is going in my Andertons jam greatest hits compilation.
Nice groove in the intro) Nice sound)
Unless one is left handed, then we have a choice of black or black whether it is alder or ash.
Wow what a killer bass player 😉👍
I just realised that Nathan is Mark King's brother and that he plays with him in level 42.Always thought he looked like him, now I know why.
What a great review fellas! I don’t understand how did you cut the single coil hums on the record? I’d die to find a solution for it.
Man these sound flippin' amazin

You are monsters guys! Can you make a review of v9 2generation? 😁
Man, that was the grooviest bass line I've ever heard!!!
Bro they tore this shit up, goddamn!
Holy cow man that into was awesome.
damn that low B is tight !!!!!
That Cutlass!
re-watching the first 3min just cuz :)
These guys can really play
Best value in the world. Version 2 : It's better, more beautiful, sound awseome.
THe model Lee was using was an alder or ash body?
Whoa hold the bus! New v2.v7 BASSES!
Sounds great and very musical. Anyone have one and can say if it cuts enough, played live?
Thanks
Never mind. That closing jam answered all of my questions and it's on the way to me. Thanks!
please, what is the amp of the bass please ?
bloody hell he plays guitar as well! I prefer this to that Chapman fella defo. Proper filth
Dave Bones he plays in a “little band” called Level 42. ❤️
well we wont hold that against him
@@malungtvnews Mark King's younger brother. Never knew that. Great guitar and bass player he is.
@Dave Bones he also plays with the blockheads so in y eyes, he can do no wrong
Chapmans a nerd, and plays as such. This guy and is china are geezers, and play as such.
Fantastic instruments!

Can anyone tell me what riff is being played at @17:18 ? It's not the first time I've heard someone playing it in a bass demo
Damn dirty groove
Groovy man! Groovy!
Why does the guitar in the jam at the end sound a lot like that Justin Timberlake song 'Rock Your Body'?... Great video and playing as always guys!
I was gonna say the same, I'm guessing it was intentional, either way it sounded dope
What are you guys doing working in a music store. You should be Rock Stars LOL
Are they 2nd generation lighter?
Sire 2nd gen m series please?
I just bought mine. Alder with red torte pick guard. 🤔
I think he made a mistake saying that the black face plates means its an alder bass. I just ordered an ash vintage V7 from sire directly and the face plate is black. :| is it possible that they sent me the wrong one?
Only the red ash comes with a tortoise shell plate Others come in black Yeah He's slightly wrong
Are you still liking it?

Anthony Price he’s got great funk playing and great playing in general.
Is it Friday already?!

I'm late, but I'd say yours is Swamp Ash, as Alder models don't come in a natural tone....
BTW, would you recommend it?
Italo Puente Camino do you still like it?
Go Lee, go!
What is your signal path? I will be playing this through an Eden WT 800 with a 410.
Did you get one?
@@louierubio I got the 5 string P7...love it!
SD Greengo ooooh. I might get the v9. Sounds very very burpy which is exactly what I’m needing right now.
V7 2nd gen ebony fret board review please 🙏🙏🙏
The neck on that strtat!
Is Lee not in a band?
I bought my V7 yesterday. Tried it out by accident. I didn't expect anything special - it was love at first note
Did you get the vintage?
Very Nice bass & Super priceeeee
godamb it fooled again didnt realize it was all about the bass thought it was rob and lee
Nice playing on nice basses!
(But, NEVER slap on a fretless. It sounds terrible. 😄)
