Liar here in Puerto Rico we don’t knock on doors that’s disrespectful instead we scream from the side walk “limber” and the lady inside will scream back “voy” 😂😂😂

I used to have my own little shop here in el campo with my family some years ago, and the clientele was mostly neighbors. Then one day we decide to make and sell limbers. None of that cheap-o syrup stuff, we used real fruit and juice, and would even add bits of the fruit into the respective limbers for making it look pretty and emphasize the fact that it was real fruit. Sliced strawberries, pineapple chunks, shaved coconut, passion fruit seeds, tamarind seeds (people loved spitting those out after sucking them dry), only one we didn't add actual fruit chunks into was the grape and the guanabana. We also had Nutella, Oreo, and our best seller, cheesecake, same ingredients as cheesecake minus the cookie crust. We had to close down eventually, but our neighbors still constantly ask us to make more limbers for them. This video really brought back those memories.

This reminds me of Ice Cakes that we have in Hawaii. We make it with Malolo Punch Syrup. And usually we would have it with li hing mui (a sweet saladito) in the middle or it in powdef form mixed and on top. And a grandpa or grandma would sell it to the neighborhood kids for $0.25 . I love watching videos like this and seeing the resemblences that are found within the cultures

Brings back my childhood, my cousins grandma I think was the one that sold limbers in my neighborhood. I used to go down the mountain in the woods to get to her house. And I would get 20 limbers or something for everyone where I used to live. It was so fun, I would scream “limber” and knock on the door. I remember it distinctly, many great memories

Y el limber de crema?!?! That one is my favorite!!! I still remember buying them at the placita after school for a quarter from an old lady that lived near by. She always saved a limber de crema for me.

They were made from a large single block of ice that was shaved and put into a metal cone, to make the shape, then placed in a paper cone. Syrups were poured over the upside down ice cone. Some flavors included : ajonjolí, frambuesa, tamarindo, etc.. You could combine the flavors too, my mother’s favorite was frambuesa con tamrindo. The tamarindo was thick and congealed even more over the cold ice... delicious.

Any other Afro-Americans thinking, “ we have those too! “ In the black culture we call them; frozen cups, Lilly-dilly’s, ice cups, etc and usually you can buy them from your neighborhood candy-lady or house-store (people who sell treats and goodies from their house).
    BTW, Love these videos!

Que rico Limber. Iconic, and what Iván says is true. I use to go to a little old lady's house from my neighbourhood who use to sell them. Me and my brothers ( and every kid in the neighnourhood) use to stand outside her house and say Limber!, so she could hear use. They were bomb!!!

We used to make those when we were kids. We used flavored Kool-Aid though. And, we referred to them as *RASPADOS* or *SNOW CONES* in English!

Janet Wood those aren’t snow cones. Snow cones are supposed to be shaved like snow.

have them try limbers de tetita!!! my all time favorite from high school; me and my friends would go to the track after school and climb up a hill, go under a broken chain link fence and walk like 5 minutes to this old lady's house just to buy them. We'd usually get in trouble but it was worth the bramble bush cuts and mud-covered shoes.

In every neighborhood, there were one house, especially an abuela, selling the limbers at $0.25 or less! And different flavors! My favorite was Leche con canela, Coco or Frambuesa. You only have to shout: "Limbers!!" And she goes out and answer: "Hola! De que la quieras?" Good times!!

My Aunt in PR use to sell limbers for .25 cents each and just like Ivan said, you use to go to the freezer and choose the one you want. This video brought me so much good memories. Thank you y Que viva PR!

Here in Peru we have that version but with a stick on so you can pull your "chupete de vasito" and eat it as a lollipop... We also have natural juice fruit in a tiny tubular plastic bag which we call it "chupete" or "marciano" and ppl also sell 'em in their houses...

In Tijuana they make something really similar but with a popsicle stick so it's not going everywhere. Mangoniadas it's mango with chamoy and it's awesome or strawberry with condensed milk.
