Its basically the same ingredients, we can drink as is or we add ice to it.

Coquito is good I'm Mexican and when I lived in the boogie down Bronx our Puerto Rican neighbors use to hook us up with this nice drink. But the Dominicans got mama Juana and that one is good to.

This was funny . Seems like after the first sip from both you can see a smile on their faces followed by a slight 2 second speech impediment ....then followed by a slight laugh. That's when you know they were a bit heavy handed with the bottle ......... lol !!!
I once drank almost a whole bottle of coquito to the head at midnight .......then by morning my father woke me up from the steps of the porch in my house ........I had on sherlin coat .....tee shirt ......boxers .......chancletas ......my radio boombox with no battery in it and an empty bottle of coquito........ohh it was like 30 degrees outside and at least close to a foot of snow on the sidewalk .........True story my peeps !!!! I don't know how I got from point A to point B ......all I remember was that creamy soft coquito but that rum is what erased my memory and all I could remember was seeing my fathers face of anger( for finishing up the christmas coquito we were supposed to share with the family later in the day ) as he was waking me up . Pretty embarrassing.

We have the same thing in Haitian culture called Crémas(Kremas), it’s made with white rum. Crémas is way better then eggnog, my younger sister make it every thanksgiving and Christmas.

They forgot the star anise, cloves, and ginger tea. That's the secret and what gives coquito that exquisite Caribbean flavor. Also, coquito doesn't contain eggs...it's coquito (little coconuts) not egg nog.
the star anise is what fell out the pot. Star anise is too potent but i use cinnamon stick, ginger and cloves in my tea.
