Judas Priest - Live In London 2001, FULL CONCERT (not just the dvd)

  • The original dvd release doesn't contain all the songs that were performed that night, but the double cd version does. I also noticed that the cd audio sounds much better than the dvd dolby digital tracks. I combined those releases together, so here's the full concert, enjoy!
Recorded at Brixton Academy, London. Date: 19.12.2001.
    The band lineup:
    Tim "Ripper" Owens - vocals
    Glenn Tipton - guitar
    KK Downing - guitar
    Ian Hill - bass
    Scott Travis - drums

Glenn and KK are the best tandem harmony players I've ever seen. I started playing hair guitar in 1985. I was 15. All of this badness was just getting popular. I saw them right after the Turbo album came out. Couldn't believe the precision of 100 notes per second harmonies.

I hope Tim reads the comments on this video, and if anybody knows him send him the link, because he should know how many Priest fans think he was absolutely incredible here, any replacement singer is always going to have a huge bias against them - the fact that everyone has to admit how great he was speaks volumes.

Agree Jugulator was their heaviest and angriest album. It's sad Priest felt this way and IMO the HOF is a joke. They should be able to play a full hour set. 3 songs that are their poppier tunes was a disappointment. I wanted some with just Binks era something off Unleashed In The East to make it easy.

This line up does not get enough love. Ripper stepped into the shoes of one metal's biggest voices and filled in wonderfully., Also not to be overlooked is Tipton and Downing both played to prove this line up was valid. Personally I think these two sounded better then they had on the final two tours with Rob. I saw this tour when it came through town and they just slayed live. Watching Tipton and Downing up close in a club was too cool and seeing Ian Hill come out of the shadows was a nice to see.

The other songs are blanked out because they were included on the DVD release, only the audio. The DVD release was so much shorter than this, yet the actual show was over 2 hrs long

Really love this JP area too! I'v seen Priest from the early 80ties till 90ties and back later on from 2004 and on. Sadly I never went to see JP with Ripper Owens. In 2009 orzo I discovered this area and was really positive surprised! Especially the energy + speed during these live gigs. Like a big steam train going on and on without any pauzes. His stage performance could be different maybe but nevertheless great JP time traveling. Great music for your ear plugs when sporting. He should have been at the at the Hall of Fame. If you like this area or not. Like Ripper or not, without him there was maybe nog Judas Priest anymore? Also glad Rob is doing still doing great! Priest became part of my life like for many others.

Saw them in Budapest around this time, maybe 2002. I had just gotten into Priest a bit before seeing them live and only found out after the show that he wasnt the original singer. The band was on fire and Ripper obviously slayed. The venue I saw them at was indoors with some sort of aluminum or steel walls, it was ear piercingly trebley and loud because of it, hahaha. Thanks for the memories!!
