Nach seinem Weggang von UFO und den Scorpions erfüllte sich Gitarrengenie Michael Schenker 1979 einen Traum und gründete sein Soloprojekt Michael Schenker Group (MSG). Mit der Band, in der sein virtuoses Gitarrenspiel im Mittelpunkt steht, führt Schenker bis heute konsequent den klassischen Hard Rock-Sound der 1980er fort.
Michael Schenker aus dem beschaulichen Sarstedt bei Hildesheim ist einer der besten und einflussreichsten Rock-Gitarristen aller Zeiten. Sein Stil gilt als präzise und technisch versiert, gleichzeitig elegant und melodisch.
Der Mann mit der Flying V-Gitarre kann auf eine erfolgreiche und aufregende Karriere zurückblicken, in der er auf über 50 Alben mitgewirkt hat. im zarten Alter von 16 Jahren wurde Michael Schenker Leadgitarrist bei den Scorpions an der Seite seines Bruders Rudolf, mit Anfang Zwanzig heuerte ihn die britische Band UFO an, bald darauf wurde er einer der berühmtesten Hard Rock-Gitarristen der Welt. Schenker prägte den Sound der Londoner mit Kompositionen wie "Doctor, Doctor" oder "Rock Bottom".
Doch damit nicht genug für den Weltenbummler aus Niedersachsen: bereits 1979 gründete er seine eigene Band MSG Michael Schenker Group. Schenker ist das letzte verbliebene Mitglied der Urbesetzung. Von 2011 bis 2015 brachte er auch drei Alben unter dem Namen "Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock" heraus. Schenker gilt mit seinem unorthodoxen Leadgitarren-Stil als einer der Väter des modernen Heavy Metal und als einer der wichtigsten Gitarristen des Genres.

I agree bud. I am 65 now and disabled. Pretty much homebound. But at 46 I bought a ticket after writing Uli Jon Roth who was coming to the states for the first time in 19 YEARS. I was there then. He opened for Michael and Holy....Spirit man he was phenomenal. No other guys but a drummer and a keyboard player and programs so there was nothing to lay back on. And Michael and band were great. But Uli and Michael?!? It was a toss up. But I saw Michael with UFO in 75 and 95 on their reunion. Pshaw! I saw Michael in different incarnations of MSG 4 other times before 2004 my last gig ever. What a way to go out. Uli Jon Roth and Michael Schenker closing. But Michael has produced continually where Uli, regrettably not so much. Michael has adjusted with his R-arm in a sling. You'd be shocked, (I was) by how big Uli's wrists are. Both could care less about modern music and have been plugged into their muse(s) from the beginning and I think that's what makes them so great. But, I think there must've been something radioactive in the water left over in Germany from the war as they were born 30 miles away from each other and less than one month too. What a privilege to have been alive during their reigns. Rock on.
@@antrygis1 I like hearing this... Uli is coming to a small venue near me this summer and I am def going. He's another very special player. Overall I feel Schenker is the better song writer but Uli has some incredible stuff.

Saw UFO in July 78… Schenker and the whole band were phenomenal. Still got it today. Bands of today cant hold a candle to this!

This show sounds amazing. Michael Schenker showing why he’s one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Ronnie Romero delivering the goods on vocals (simply impressive). MSG sounds solid 🤘😎

Since the start of , Michael sets the record straight of how incredible he is and this show its a non stop marathon since the beggining until the end. So happy to see this incredible musicians rocking & playing like this at their age. Sdly,I don´t see anything in metal capable to replace this kind of generation of musicians at future.

I am thrilled to see virtuoso guitarist Michael Schenker still out and playing great. I never thought he would be the lone UFO musician left out on the road, considering his storied past.
Michael is in excellent form here. Super clean playing, intense energy and MSG jams! Singer kills it and looks proper - LEAD!
I want to give a shout out to the audio/video people who did this concert. Fantastic on both ends. Also to the people who laid out this You Tube page , great job.

Great to see Michael so healthy and vibrant , and obviously enjoying himself immensely too. The band is tight as a gnat's chuff and props to the engineers for such a great sound (especially as these days most of the rock gigs I go too have awful sound engineering). Keep on rockin' Michael!

Yes, absolutely--he plays with a ton of heart, soul and melody. It doesn't hurt that his tone remains killer. Always memorable indeed.

First off. I love the setup. A bunch of Marshall Amps stacked up and no f in video screens. And Michael is a beast at his age. Also Ronnie Romero is a perfect fit. Just incredible. Wish I was there.

I have been a fan of Michael Schenker since my teens in the 1970's. He has never "washed up" or peaked. An incredible vituoso!
Geil, dass es den Rockpalast noch gibt, absolute Kultshow! Michael Schenker habe ich vor Jahren mal live in der Hamburger Markthalle erlebt. Die Besetzung war anders, Rarebell und Buchholz (ex-Scorpions) waren u.a. dabei. Es gab ein paar alte Scorps- und UFO-Songs auf die Ohren, war sehr geil.
This whole band is amazing! The drummer is relentless. I think every song is fast and he never misses a beat. It’s a credit to Michael’s brilliance, dedication to his craft, and raw talent that he sounds like this in 2023.
One of the best and still rocking my ears and that’s that god gave him a powerful heart keep on rockin this plant….

Michael ranks up there with Edward Van Halen for being an original. Before there was Michael nobody played or sounded like Michael. In my opinion Michael never got the credit he deserved. He's just as awesome today!

Over fifty-five years; he was seventeen when he joined UFO. Lights Out, Force It, Lovedrive, Strangers In The Night, Phenomenon, the acoustic Thank You series... Before the Stones got Ronnie Wood; Andrew Loog-Oldham called Michael's manager to see if he wanted the job, not an audition, but would he please consider joining when Mick Taylor left(?) Michael's manager told Andrew not to even waste his time or money. Before Eddie, Yngwie, Lynch, di Martini, McCalpine, Becker, and the dozens of other sweep-dopes & sweep- demons ..... Michael Schenker was filling the sheds and stadiums of America and Europe along with Jimmy Page, Brian May, Tony Iommi, Mick Ralphs, Ritchie Blackmore (Oh yes, Deep Purple wanted Michael as well.) Pete Townsend, Mick Ronson, Phil Lynott/ Scott Gorham/ Brian Robertson, Billy Gibbons, Angus & Malcom Young, Rick Neilson, Alex Lifeson, Buck Dharma, etc... Michael hasn't an ounce of fat on him. He looks exactly like he did in 1975. When you hear about Michael Schenker, you don't have to hear about his Lamborghini's and how Claudio gave him Sammy fckng Haggard's phone number. Or his Weight Loss Diet Corporation wife... (Michael did kind of lose it a few years back about his rift with Rudolph.) You don't have to read about Schlitz Malt Liquor, Heineken, or cocaine... PURE MUSIC. He's just pure music.

Guys like ULI John Roth and Michael are still alive and still out there performing and doing what they do best and that's create great music outside of the main bands those guys are obviously in and still play with all these decades later lol!!!! One of my original guitar hero's. UFO live strangers in the night was 4 sides of inspiration for a young guitarist. I would lay down on my bed with my head between my stereo speakers and visualize the concerts and how to play like Mike.

Just awesome. Grew up on UFO and played the grooves off the live LP Into the Night in college. Our band Arminius plays a lot of these tunes. Just spectacular.
