It’s really simple, check your current average “screen on” time in the battery settings on your current device. If the average time over the last 10 days is above 4.5 hours or so a day, get a bigger phone, if not, it’s fine!
I got 5 hours on my xiomi redmi note 7 it has a 4k mah battery and it last 8 hours while costing 200£ in 2019 do you think the iPhone 12 will be able to compete battery wise?
I came from the iphone X and was not prepared how much I would miss the telephoto lense. It renders the portrait mode virtually useless. Faces look warped and stretched even with the regular lense. The portraits from the X always received the most compliments of all photos I took. I don’t understand why anyone would need an ultrawide really.
I traded in my 11 pro for the 12 mini yesterday.... today I had no issues with the battery. Woke up at 11 and now I’m going to bed at 12:02 am. Lightly used today and it’s on 58 percent.
I find it funny with everyone shouting disappointment with battery life on this phone, When everyone knew it's a smaller phone which means smaller battery so what were people expecting? It's still bigger than SE 2020 though lol On the subject of battery, All the batteries across iPhone 12 are smaller than the 11 series which that itself is a disappointment imo.
@@helenHTID not everyone knew that smaller phones means small battery. Lmfaoo and just because you expect it to have poor battery life doesn’t mean you can’t be disappointed
Low Power Mode also cuts processing power by roughly 40% Low Power Mode reduces performance of the CPU/GPU as well as mentioned background tasks etc etc
Auto brightness DESTROYS the battery life, wtf? why would i want my brightness shifting every few minutes? its been tested. you can easily lose 30 minutes to an hour of battery just having that 1 setting enabled.
I ordered one as soon as I could confirm that the size is really fine. It's a bit of a compromise as I couldn't really reach the "previous app" button in the top left, but that may have been because of the huge anti-theft-dongle on the exhibition unit in the local reseller's shop. 2-3 weeks of wait now...
How about MagSafe battery bank car vent adapter too .Attach the bake to car adapter holder that is already Attached on the car vent . So this way the bank become a car magnet holder/charger for the phone and the bank should also be easy slip off or clip off tobe use it as an battery extender
Hey I purchased a mini one month ago and I love it ,the others just seem a little bit more cumbersome and personally I like smaller items which makes carrying easier. I don’t know if you’re an EDC guy but the mini fits the bill. Jotan
They should have made the 12 mini about a millimeter thicker and fill it up with more battery thereby boosting its battery life. That small form factor could easily afford to get thicker. Then it would have been the perfect compact flagship.
I just picked up 2 MagSafe chargers for my Mini. From what I’m reading, I can safely leave them on the charger overnight without battery degradation due to the intelligence in the phone & charger. Is this true? Thanks
Heyy guys.. battery life is not so much of an issue unless you are a hardcore power user. I have been using it for a month and still I get an entire day's battery life.
So I’m going to get the iPhone 12 mini, I just can’t decide what color I want. Let alone storage size, I’m fine with the battery life because my current is an iPhone 8 with 82% health so I think I’ll be fine with it.
I'm just wondering what all y'all take photos of that the ultrawide lens is useful and the telephoto isn't? (I'd already have a 12 Mini if it had a telephoto lens, because that's just about the only one I use. I think I've used the ultrawide on my 11 Pro half a dozen times in the last 15 months.)
I use my phone pretty heavily but I just had to have the Mini for the smaller form factor. I love it!! I’m working from home so I can give it a quick charge as needed.

I started with the iPhone 12 Pro Max as I tend to be a "go big or go home" type of smartphone owner. My carrier offered me a deal I could not refuse on a mini (i.e. FREE!), so I am an owner of two iPhones. Right now my mini is my main driver and so far so good! I appreciate the small size when out and about, where I am not watching videos, but need a phone and texting, which the mini does perfectly. As for the much maligned battery, more than enough to get me through the day.
you keep saying that the battery life is not great but i literally watched a battery test video of the 12 mini beating the 11 in terms of battery life. maybe test the devices first before jumping into conclusions?
You didn't mention an appropriate USB C to USB adapter to allow Apple charging bricks that came standard with the older iPhones to charge the 12 mini. Is that not an option?
I have an apple mini and my experience has been that reception coming into the phone is not great. Previously I owned a kyocera smart phone and that phone had excellent reception. You would think its a tower issue, but same provider same plan just switched to the apple mini. And now the incoming reception of the phone is quite a bit worse from my old phone. I live in the country but as I said my old phone worked really well. Not sure what to do as my provider does not have any answers for this
Got the mini few months ago and it’s the best decision I have made coming from the SE (1st gen). The batt life, camera, display and size are prefect for me.
Battery it’s plenty good.... last just as long as the iPhone X, if not longer.... I use it all day with some busy days on the phone, haven’t seen any issue with battery life
People will spend £699+ on an iPhone with a whack battery!! And then spend more money on battery packs to carry around with it, apple own you! And this is coming from an apple owner, I’m just not paying for a new phone with downgraded batteries

Mine still goes within a day and a half. Has a 97% batt performance capacity, been using it for 9mos now. What i dont like using a qi charger or magsafe, is it heats up easily, i opt using a normal lightning cable.
SOLVED: There are many MagSafe powerbanks now, the perfect solution. Altough most don’t complain about the battery on the Mini. Even if you have to give it some extra charge in the middle of the day, it’s not a big deal. The pro’s far outweigh the “cons”

Thank you for the video. I used to have an iPhone SE 2020 version and its battery was really bad. It used to drop by 40% overnight. But then i did really well in my assessments and i got the iPhone 12 mini. It is an amazing phone and it only drops around 7-10% overnight. It fits in my pocket and i only need to use 1 hand 🎉 i really recommend this phone
What about the a14 throttling issue resulting in much lower fps and 2x(vs 11) battery drain during gaming? Does mini suffer from the same like it’s big brothers? I understand this is either a software or hardware issue(lack of the heatpipe in the new cpu)
I'm a normal user of iPhone 12 Mini and I'm having no problem coming out through the day with one battery charging (emails, navigation, social media, music apps...). If you're getting out of battery any sooner, than the phone is either not appropriate for your work, or maybe you are just too addicted to phone, apps, internet and you should do sth about that.
I’ve had the mini for 3 weeks and never ended the day below 25% charge. I have no battery issue at all. I’m coming from a 2016 SE so comparatively the mini is worlds better. I don’t know what these people are doing to run out of juice so easily.
I went from the iPhone XS Max to the iPhone 11pro now I have the mini and I love it. Battery life could be slightly better but manageable. Absolutely loving it.
Hey folks. I’m a pixel user since it was nexus, so stock Android all the way. I use an iPad extensively and used an iPhone back in the colored plastic shell days. I’m intrigued by this new iPhone. Primary concerns: I like a fingerprint reader. Quite a bit. I use it for all of my password needs. Google assistant has become integrated into my home, I suspect no major issues with this having used the iPad in that ecosystem already. Any caveats from converts or ambiverts?
Well if you’re an adult who works between 5-8 hours a day, this phone is great. Because I work, I barely use my phone for a majority of the day. I do videography and I do watch TH-cam pretty heavy and I have yet to have an issue with the battery!
I absolutely love the Mini, but in the end I opted for the Pro. Everything about the Mini is perfect for my tastes: I'm not a big video-watcher or gamer on my phone, but I do care about performance and the quality of the screen. The deal-breaker for me was the camera setup. Although I'm not a "pro," whatever that means, I use the telephoto lens all the time. In fact, I wish Apple had an even longer telephoto in the mix. And I love the lidar sensor on my 12 Pro. It's really just a toy for me, but I love it. I do walkthroughs of favorite places, I toy around with 3D graphics, and I like seeing the amazing stuff it can do. I'm thinking of picking up a Mini to use as my main phone, with the Pro kept as a backup phone for when I need the better camera array. If Apple discontinues the Mini, I'll definitely rush out and get one before they sell out.

A Mag Safe battery case would be the first time Mag safe would actually be usefull haha. No hate though
From a 5s, the 12 mini has outstanding battery. Didn’t realize how bad the 5s’ battery was until I got a new phone
yeah it's bad I only made it until around 1pm when I was on trips out of town and I had to use GPS / Uber
Definitely a bit disappointing about battery life, but a MagSafe battery bank sounds legit!
@@fatoumatacisse3796 Yeah I guess you're right? Dumb exists in all walks of life. LMFAO
Low Power Mode also cuts processing power by roughly 40%
Low Power Mode reduces performance of the CPU/GPU as well as mentioned background tasks etc etc
Perfect!
According to this guy there r two users ...one who live on their phone for the whole day and other who uses it for a couple of texts and calls 😂
Auto brightness DESTROYS the battery life, wtf? why would i want my brightness shifting every few minutes? its been tested. you can easily lose 30 minutes to an hour of battery just having that 1 setting enabled.
What's the currently value of the iphone 12 mini black series? It's in very great condition. If I wanted to sell it?
I also felt 8-8,5mm wouldn’t have been bad.
How do you unlock the iphone 12 mini. I accidentally lock it and don't remember the code.
The battery life is NOT an issue genuinely, been using the phone for a month now and its not died on me once
bro how long we can play games with single charge?
I'm just wondering what all y'all take photos of that the ultrawide lens is useful and the telephoto isn't?
(I'd already have a 12 Mini if it had a telephoto lens, because that's just about the only one I use. I think I've used the ultrawide on my 11 Pro half a dozen times in the last 15 months.)
But I'm glad to hear the battery life isn't horrible.
I am sticking with the SE for now. I prefer Touch ID, which is not supported on the 12
I use my phone pretty heavily but I just had to have the Mini for the smaller form factor. I love it!! I’m working from home so I can give it a quick charge as needed.
I love my mini!!! I upgraded from a IPhone XS
@@808Affliction Really from a XS?! Is That Upgrade Worth it? How about the battery instead of the XS? My XS Battery is really bad. I have 4 hours Display time.
Lukas B. Dude yesterday I took my 12 mini off charge at 8am and then put it back on the charger at 12am at 28% . Idk why people are saying the battery is shit but it’s not!!! The small size and camera is a total upgrade!
@@808Affliction how was the battery life from your Xs? Better than 12 Mini? I use TH-cam Maximum 2h a day and the Rest is Spotify or WhatsApp.
@@808Affliction me too. I love it, battery is getting me true the day easily
I’m torn cause the SE has a finger print scanner.
iPhone 12 mini is one of the best phones out there. No issues with battery life. I’m enjoying it.
Just got my mini and I’m in love... favorite phone I’ve ever had battery life is no issue for me as most of my screen time happens on my 2020 iPad Pro and when I’m out it usually means I’m driving somewhere so my mini can charge on the way there and back
Where's the fix?
Why doesn’t apple make “Eject MagSafe” button in control center?
After charging the battery from the puck, you could just tell it to puck off :)
Just got the 12 mini the other day. Upgrading from an 11. The battery life isn’t as good but I’m home slot so no biggy
@Auborn last time I checked it was 93% and I use mostly fast charging.
@Auborn I just checked mine and it’s at 91% it will last longer is you use a shower charger or wirelessly charge. Some people have managed to keep there’s at 95% or higher.
The mini is perfect for me , 5G is a marketing joke on all 12s .......LTE is fast over all . Turn off 5G .....mini is 8 Hours , I don’t watch movies or game on the phone ......so it’s pretty much perfect 👌🏼, and it fits in every pocket.
How is the battery life compared to a MOTO android phone?
Not sure why you only have 42k subs. You have a very good channel. Keep it up
Wait the battery is not good? Wow, my mini resists 8 hours a day.
I like my mini and it’s fine to me. My battery needs are fine with it.
Same. The battery life is great for me.
I’ve got no complaints either
My original iPhone SE of 2016 battery gets charged about every 3rd day or 2nd with heavy use. Seems we’re going backwards
@Auborn 99%
I just got the new IPhone 12 mini.Love it! It is big enough. The battery life doesn’t matter at all.I bought I unicorn beetle case.It makes the phone look bigger then it is
Mine still goes within a day and a half. Has a 97% batt performance capacity, been using it for 9mos now. What i dont like using a qi charger or magsafe, is it heats up easily, i opt using a normal lightning cable.
They should make a battery puck that looks like the apple logo.
Does magsafe faster charging damage batt faster like wire fast charger compare to normal qi wireless charging?
Is there a Chinese version of iPhone 12 mini that works with two nano sim cards?
Yes Hong Kong model
I have a mini and use it a lot and it’s battery last till l go to bed at 24:00. So don’t know where you get this. It is all I have to do everything on
SOLVED: There are many MagSafe powerbanks now, the perfect solution. Altough most don’t complain about the battery on the Mini. Even if you have to give it some extra charge in the middle of the day, it’s not a big deal.
The pro’s far outweigh the “cons”
Hi, I have 11 pro now and I like 12 mini, what advice do you give me to go from 11 pro to 12 mini or wait until next year, I also think that the battery is smaller for mini but I don't know what to do? thanks
At the end of the day you always charge your phone, even if it's not empty. So? 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you for the video. I used to have an iPhone SE 2020 version and its battery was really bad. It used to drop by 40% overnight. But then i did really well in my assessments and i got the iPhone 12 mini. It is an amazing phone and it only drops around 7-10% overnight. It fits in my pocket and i only need to use 1 hand 🎉 i really recommend this phone
i don’t have 5G in settings probably because my At&t plan doesn’t have 5G
What about the a14 throttling issue resulting in much lower fps and 2x(vs 11) battery drain during gaming? Does mini suffer from the same like it’s big brothers? I understand this is either a software or hardware issue(lack of the heatpipe in the new cpu)
I'm a normal user of iPhone 12 Mini and I'm having no problem coming out through the day with one battery charging (emails, navigation, social media, music apps...). If you're getting out of battery any sooner, than the phone is either not
appropriate for your work, or maybe you are just too addicted to phone, apps, internet and you should do sth about that.
Just ordered mine today, let’s also not forget as far as the battery goes the mini has fast charging
Is this one of the videos where the presenter says you will struggle to play games for six hours on this device so battery is poor...
Primary concerns:
I like a fingerprint reader. Quite a bit. I use it for all of my password needs.
Google assistant has become integrated into my home, I suspect no major issues with this having used the iPad in that ecosystem already.
Any caveats from converts or ambiverts?
That’s a genius idea. I hope someone is working on it!
you can already get magsafe power bank on amazon
It would be nice if Apple came out with a rotary dial for doing phone numbers.
Do you know when they will drop the apple battery case?
Well if you’re an adult who works between 5-8 hours a day, this phone is great. Because I work, I barely use my phone for a majority of the day. I do videography and I do watch TH-cam pretty heavy and I have yet to have an issue with the battery!
A future iPhone will have a very small battery to "save the planet", a larger battery will be sold as a separate accessory.
Those save the planet people will also be the ones driving Teslas and other big-ass battery cars 😂
