hey Chilling Scares! i'm from the netherlands and remember story 4 very well, given that you said you couldn't find the sentecing info, i have it here for you: the twins got just 68 days in prison, they paid 570,- euros back to the victim and also 300,- euros for immaterial damage
I hear this all the time, and I think it has to do with where you live. My brother-in-law and his wife moved here (PA) from Texas. The VA in their area in Texas was apparently pretty bad. They love the VA in our area. They actually listen to you and, if necessary, do the tests and procedures that need to be done to help you.
As a war veteran of the GWOT, VA doesn’t care. They throw you your disability money and say goodluck. Therapy, sure you can get therapy and then they will lower your ratings if you seem to be getting better mentally. It’s ridiculous. I was diagnosed with PTSD from a tour in Iraq/Saudi Arabia, rated at 70%, eventually lowered to 50% because the therapist deemed I was getting better. Mental health is the biggest killer in the 1st world now a days.
10 years for doing that atrocity with mothers and children, and yet in another place the guy gets lifelong prison for killing a woman. What a hell of a world we live in. I can't even describe how bad I felt with that Cameroon video.
In fairness, ten years in prison is a death sentence in a Cameroon system. Also, in fairness, plenty of Western countries do not give “life in prison” for killing a woman. In fact, some barely punish for the brutal raping of children (depending on who does it).
I don't know what it's like now, but when I lived there back in the early 1990s, Cameroonian army personnel were a menace. I even read about at least one similar army massacre of civilians while we were there. The story we heard was that a lot of the regular army joes didn't get paid regularly, just got a rifle and a uniform. That's why they would set up shop at some bar on the edge of a town and shake down passing traffic for bribes. I lost count of the number of times some drunk dude in a uniform looked at my Identity Card upside down, while waving a gun in my face and asking for a "date." I'm surprised they even got ten years, though I agree with tablescissors that ten years in a Cameroonian prison is no joke.

9:31 - "Authorities found 15 stab wounds on Kim's body." 10:24 - "To this day it's still unclear how he took Kim's life." So pretty sure we know how he did it. (Just saying.) He probably meant to say WHY he took Kim's life, that makes sense. Also, I highly doubt his original plan was to sink his submarine and take both of their lives. That makes zero sense because of this elaborate escape attempt. People that actually wish to delete themselves, wouldn't go to such lengths to escape from prison. They would simply find a way to end it wherever they were. Now, even if he had planned to escape so he could then get into his submarine and sink it with only himself on board, that's not even a logical plan since his submarine was in police custody since it's literally a crime scene. So I highly doubt he would have been able to not only gain access to it, but to then get a vehicle to bring it to the ocean aall without being caught. Just no.
Not really pretty sure it said if you look at the case that she had blunt force trauma which means she could have gotten hit on the head hard killing her instantly with the stab wounds being post mortem
@@gameuniverse5973 Pretty sure you missed the entire point of my original comment. So even with blunt force trauma to the head and face and neck areas, that only tells the HOW part of this crime. So the WHY as in the motivation is STILL unknown. If I had to guess, it was a crime of opportunity, and possibly one of sexual motivation. As in this man was presented with a young attractive woman that he had alone with him for an undetermined amount of time, so he had the opportunity, the means and the (typical) motive. This case doesn't revolve around the matter of which her death occurred, we are all left wondering the why her murder happened in the first place. And on a side note, it is astonishing that a man with such a high level of intelligence had no foresight at all. Which is not uncommon among serial killers. But still, a guy that was smart enough to build his own submarine, and other things, is still too dumb to realize that a journalist would go missing and then obviously be reported missing, still thought it was a good idea to kill her, dump her body in a body of water that he was known to frequent, and then come up with the most ridiculous and convoluted story, yet he still got arrested for her murder, and then he came up with an elaborate plan to escape from prison and ultimately failed, only to get sent right back again. It's just so incredibly stupid that it's laughable! (And I mean that he is the one I'm laughing at here, not her. She is a murder vicitim that did absolutely nothing wrong. Her death is a tragedy.)
The way this video is worded in some places I'm wondering if he used AI. He's had sponsored ads from AI companies before and admitted to using that to create those videos
@@rinkincaid5470 Ah, I see, and well, I must say, that makes sense and since I've been using sponsor block and ad blocking for quite awhile now, so I do not see any ads nor sponsors. And so I see the videos without any of that sh*t so I'm inclined to give the creators the benefit of the doubt when they make seemingly innocent mistakes, but that clearly gives me an unrealistic POV when watching. So I thank you for pointing that out, because many folks like me literally do NOT get this information, especially if we subscribed to channels before they started using AI.
@Cuddly-Cactus no problem! AI is becoming a huge issue because unless you can spot tiny discrepancies in voices and grammar, you assume the voice over is a real person when there's a high chance the TH-camr had AI make a script and use their voice. Voice overs can be really hard to tell if they're AI or not, but one give away is the robotic tone of the creators. And like you mentioned, if you're not even aware TH-camrs are taking sponsored ads from AI companies that makes it even more difficult. Plus why spend time and effort into a video if AI can do it all for you while people eat that content up? I really think this TH-camr uses AI for like all of his videos; he's too robotic and the fact he's even admitted to using AI to create entire videos really puts me off of his videos. But like I said, why put time and effort into content when you know people will eat that up?
It's just a title meant to attract more views, it's just the guy's "job", don't get too stressed about it. The video is well made, well researched and well narrated. It's not some AI generated slop cash grab horror channel. It's a good channel, indeed, so don't worry about the title being imprecise. The content isn't. That's what matters.
@@louiscyphre2267 no, it's not. The case is actually interesting, it's well narrated and well researched, since it's such an obscure story. Plus, even though it wasn't exactly solved with Google Maps, there was a major role on using it for getting to know who was tax evading and where. I know tax evasion is a vitcimless nonsensical crime, that only exists because the government needs money to operate, of course, the story itself, despite not being "scary" or "disturbing" is interesting nonetheless and matches up with the title of the video.
The first case is just sad. People who serve in all branches of the military should be looked after and cared for once they leave the job. The scars they pick up from war/conflict last them their whole life, not just their military career.
Nah that sounds w0ke. Instead we should fear monger about tr@ns people or immigr@nts instead of helping people because "owning the libs" is more important than class related issues or helping people off the street!
Then they better figure out how to get some help. Sit around waiting for the government to pay for it. If PTSD is your only problem, then I don't see what the problem is with getting a job or two to pay for therapy. You don't sit around on your ass waiting for someone else to provide for you. You go out there and hustle and get the money you need while you're waiting for assistance.
@@Littlemissdirtbagyou’re dumb, Jesus Christ. It takes months or even years in the United States to get into a specialist, especially for mental health. In Denmark, you can be released on parole after 12 years at the earliest when you receive a life sentence. On average, life sentenced prisoners spend 17 years in prison. The first video. As an army vet with some mental issues, I can promise you the treatment he was getting for is PTSD was extremely subpar. The VA health system is a joke filled with people working 9-4 and just there to collect a paycheck and get the benefits. To any vet that might read this, look around your area and see if there are any veterans organizations that are not connected to the VA. The people that work for those non profit organizations are generally there to try and help as much as they can. They can help with mental health, hunger, housing, mechanical repairs for your vehicle, repairs you might need to do to your home and a whole list of other things.
I really love your videos chilling scares. I love the sound effects you put in every video that matches your words. And you're very good and very articulate how you put things in words. Keep by the videos.

He might’ve been paid his salary for his job in cash. This comment came up before the photo and I was like "there's no way" but you were exactly right
Nah he was my uncle’s friend and lived like 20-30 minutes away 😩😭😭
He look like john Wayne Gasey the killer clown
9:31 - "Authorities found 15 stab wounds on Kim's body."
10:24 - "To this day it's still unclear how he took Kim's life."
So pretty sure we know how he did it.
7:14 That’s *INCREDIBLE.* It’s always so much better when the victim is the one to catch their perpetrators themselves.
One mystery that remains is
If the soap hits the floor, does the floor gets cleaned or does the soap gets dirty?
Good question. I am now curious 😂
Good question. Answer is neither.
Both, just like dropping a hot coal in cold water cools the coal and heats the water :)
Yes
▪️
Alternatively, if someone spills salt on the floor - are they dirtying the floor, or are they cleaning it ?????????
🟥
“Most Disturbing Mysteries” is a real stretch for this video. One of them is literally a just a mugging that got solved 😂
@@taeromann5929 yeah, plus this guy does debunk stuff in his "ghost" videos so that's more than most channels in this genre
@taeromann5929 no, a mugging and tax evasion is lazy phoned in content.
@@taeromann5929How does it match with the title of the video when it literally isn't disturbing in the slightest? You're a moron.
The first case is just sad. People who serve in all branches of the military should be looked after and cared for once they leave the job.
The scars they pick up from war/conflict last them their whole life, not just their military career.
A lot of PTSD during the Iraq War we're brushed aside.
Nah that sounds woke. Instead of having real solutions or helping people we should fear monger about trans people and immigrants instead!
Nah that sounds w0ke. Instead we should fear monger about tr@ns people or immigr@nts instead of helping people because "owning the libs" is more important than class related issues or helping people off the street!
they chose to be terrorists
War vets who killed someone in a fit of flashbacks/any trauma related thing has me being more kinder on them, sure they killed but they have PTSD
I love your videos! I watched them all and I rewatch some when you don't post 😁
I remember the reporter being an ongoing case. The guy thought he would be safe because it was in the ocean. Guy wasn't in international waters yet.
Sad fact, there are still guys from Desert Storm awaiting ptsd treatment
Then they better figure out how to get some help. Sit around waiting for the government to pay for it. If PTSD is your only problem, then I don't see what the problem is with getting a job or two to pay for therapy. You don't sit around on your ass waiting for someone else to provide for you. You go out there and hustle and get the money you need while you're waiting for assistance.
@@Littlemissdirtbagname checks out
@@Littlemissdirtbagyou’re dumb, Jesus Christ. It takes months or even years in the United States to get into a specialist, especially for mental health. It has nothing to do with whether or not you’re able to pay for it or whether you “hustle” and everything to do with the fact that the government does not give a fuck about the atrocious state of our health care system
@@LittlemissdirtbagAlso, did you not watch the fucking video? The dude literally murdered his two friends because of PTSD over a dispute. It can be very hard for people with debilitating PTSD and other mental problems to even hold a job without the proper treatment for their mental problems
@@williamcolon9280 I agree
This is perfect, it’s my birthday and I’d say chilling scares posting another google maps related video is a great treat. I loved the first installment of it, so this’ll be another good batch to listen through

Happy birthday, dear stranger
Back at it. Keep dropping these gems bro
In Denmark, you can be released on parole after 12 years at the earliest when you receive a life sentence. On average, life sentenced prisoners spend 17 years in prison. However, there have been examples of prisoners deemed too dangerous to release who ended up spending almost the rest of their lives in prison.
8:49 “an official investigation was officially launched”
😂 idk why but this just made me laugh
AI script
He didn't intend to kill her but intended to sink the submarine which would have killed her?
You tellin me a guy that was involved in violently invading multiple countries ended up murdering some innocent people? Shocking.
Among the millions who didn’t, while still defending their countries (like the one you inhabit freely). Hmm.
@@tablescissors They are not defending their country, they are racketeering for capitalism. If any other country conducted themselves the same way they would be called terrorists, but I guess when we do it they are obligatory heroes. Hmm.
Invasion isn't necessarily bad
"violently invading multiple countries" What? I know your trying to get your woke points up but at least make more sense next time.
@@TT09B5 We were lied into those wars, like many others. It's not being woke, it's being objective about what actually took place.
The *scariest* thing about the Gilgo Beach Killer in that photo is that it shows how there can be a serial killer walking by you in a crowd every day… and you would never know it
Not really.
There are statistics that can determine that.

When Chilling Scares and Mr. Nightmare both upload on the same day, it’s a really good day. Especially when this is the first TH-cam video I’ve watched today.
They're the same person.

This is absolutely breathtaking if u would see something as disturbing as this on Google Maps
Thank you, Toad.
Can you please make a video on disturbing/unexplainable encounters again?
video idea: do scary trail camera videos
I was just about to compliment the script until I heard 8:48
"An official investigation was officially launch" mmm
Oh wow, one mistake in an amazing script. Better get the torches and pitchforks ready.

How is tax evasion a disturbing mystery
Not sure why i should feel bad for guy #1 who knowing they have ptsd carries around a concealed weapon...that alone is criminal
She was found with 15 stab wounds all over her body... "To this day it's unclear how he killed her" 🤔😐

Really cut into the editing time.
7:48 "Dutch" muggers lmfao
Yeah crime happens everywhere
I'm a viet vet and at 71 like 1000s of other vet never killed or harmed a life, using the war vet as an excuse to kill or harm people is BS.
Being from and living on Long Island, I always get a sick feeling when Gilgo is mentioned. It’s so hard to believe how close it is to home.
Me too. Gives me memories of the Son of Sam

6:44 What 14 year old boy walks around (or rather bikes around) with 165 Euro? What 14 year old boy even *has* 165 euro??
7:20 Why would he not simply report that there was a Google car taking pictures of the muggers??? :O
Maybe it was birthday money?
He might’ve been paid his salary for his job in cash. If he’s working for a smaller business, of which there are many in Groningen (in comparison to the really populated parts of the Netherlands), that’d be a very plausible payment option, *especially* for in 2008, when online banking was much less common, and considering he’s a 14 year old he’d maybe not have a bank-account.
@@ingainloggningsnamnHe probably didn’t notice it, considering he’d be focussed on the weirdos walking besides his bike.
