    My cousins best friend answered an ad on Craigslist for a nanny. She was murdered by the guy. This happened in Minnesota.

    • @Kira_Martel
      @Kira_Martel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +299

      I actually see that fairly frequently on property manager/land steward gigs. Usually the property owner doesn't want to deal with young people and couples who have busy social lives and could want to bring more people to their property. Giving free rent to one person is less of a burden on them than giving it to a couple, a family, or folks who want to make that land into their new party location.

    My experience on Craigslist was insane. I was meeting up with someone to do a gig but didn’t check the location beforehand. When I arrived, construction was going on in the area and it looked pretty much abandoned. Anyways, I was about to get out of my car but from the corner of my eye, I saw two guys trying to sneak up behind my car. Mind you this was a dead end area, and also saw a car peered to the side out of sight in a dark area. I hauled ass in reverse and dipped out so fast. I was about 18 and didn’t know any better, mind you it was dark outside, around 9pm. When I pulled off, I see more than 7 guys watching me as I backed out

    The first ad is full of red flags that anyone should have been able to notice. 1. Why would they prefer a caretaker to be single? That has no effect on your ability to do the job, and a vast majority of people in relationships have no problem doing their jobs competently. 2. Why would the interview for a southwest Ohio farm job take place 2+ hours away in northeast Ohio? Surely if they were serious they’d want to show you around the farm you’d be working at. 3. If it’s a farm, why is it also a hunting preserve? Seems counterintuitive if you want to keep animals alive and safe (until slaughter that is…). I’m not trying to victim blame at all, but come on. We need to teach internet literacy to people so it isn’t this easy to be scammed and potentially killed.

      I've heard of this case before, and always think the same thought, which is how sad that people who just wanted a fresh start were victimized. Aside from that, I very much like the narration voice and style here. At this point I don't believe it's AI, seems too good for that as so far I have not picked up any weird pronunciations, which are a turn-off. I've run across a couple of other channels where AI pronounces addresses and so on very oddly/artificially and I immediately turn those off and don't subscribe. I just subscribed to this channel, so well done overall.

      I feel like it's mostly senior citizens & super young individuals who get exploited online. I'm 36 & I remember being taught about this stuff & just thought everyone knew better 🤷🏻‍♀️.. Guess not

    I live in Ohio and at that time lived close to Akron, lived in Cuyahoga Falls when that story about a farm hand happened. Never heard about the one where the girl faked her own disappearance. I remember the one where a woman was advertising free baby clothes and baby stuff and murdered the pregnant woman who responded to her as, the baby lived, but what a terrible ordeal.

    as someone that’s lived not far from baltimore i can at least say i have heard stories like this before. i’m originally from the ocean city maryland area and believe it or not there was a case of a woman in west ocean city i think that had either misscariges or something to that effect and she had 11 dead fetus’s in her back yard buried. highly unusual for this area to as you just don’t see that but people from maryland can be super crazy to just watch out. that’s not to say all marylanders are crazy cause i mean i’m not but there are crazies around here.

    So if my father dies and he wants to be buried at the "family" tree in our garden. We are breaking the law?
    What about all the ashes that people dump, is that illegal to?

    • @metern
      @metern 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If illegal. How do we arrange it to be legal?

    • @bleachedout805
      @bleachedout805 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@meternIf you have a private family burial site than it is legal. It likely needs to be registered.
      As to why spreading ashes is legal it is because ashes don't contain biohazard threats the same way a unprocessed body does.

    I watched a show called American Monster or Evil Lives Here on the first story. Can't remember which show had the story. Both are great for true crime. The stories come from the family and/or victims of the murders. There's no interview, it's just them telling the stories. It feels more personal. This story was told from the muder's daughter at first then the victims families.

    I would have been suspicious of the first one immediately. Bringing up how it's the job of a lifetime. Wanting someone older and single. The entire tone of it was off. But I guess I'm just used to looking out for things like that since I'm a pretty cautious person.

    I recently bought some solar panels off craigslist. I went with an arsenal, and I'm not even kidding. Was in the middle of no where and seemed sketchy AF. Then I got there and it was just an elderly couple, and I had worked with the woman in a factory before. Was nothing nefarious, but I'm still super concerned with meeting people off Craigslist.

    Weird that the police get reimbursed for the time worked during a false police report. Shouldn’t that money go to the taxpayers?? The police already got paid for that time. Why are they now being paid twice?
