Thank you very much dear Sarah for your video,s. I love your voice, you are such a wonderful teacher. I tried many kind of soap that I learned from your videos. They came out wonderful. May God bless you 🥰💐💐
Hi Lauren, I am so glad you liked it. Do you have a particular soap you use it in or is it a regular scent for you? Do pop the link in if you have used it in one of your lovely videos
Wonderful! I may give this a whirl (pun intended) tomorrow! Any substitution for the sweet almond oil? Also, I’ve no cocoa butter. May I just use shea?
hi, I am a new follower and a new beginner in sopa making. I bought caolin for the white color, is it a good idea? I used it yesterday and the white was awsome. I'm in Houston Texas.
Hi Sarah, that's a beautiful soap. I do love Tea Tree oil. Do you know if there is an official list/document that states all the usage rates for essential oils, here in the UK?
Hi Sarah, what is that special grater you are using in this video to remove the marks left due to air bubbles which give the final product a smooth finish called. if it's a special tool used for soapmaking I would like to source it and need the actual name. Many thanks.
Hi! Thanks for your video. I have one question, can I mixed sodium hydroxide with tea tree hydrosol instead of water? Another thing, could you please share the ratio of the ingredients? Thanks
Hi Suzanne, I am not sure if they sell on Amazon but this is where I got it. Thanks for spending time with me in the video today x www.etsy.com/uk/listing/655337069/adjustabe-single-wire-soap-cutter?
I'm never sure how much mica to add plus my soaps are taking forever to harden, should I add sodium lactate? Thank you I'm a newbie and this is a great helpful video. Thank you.
Soap should not take long to harden if you have a good recipe. You might be using too much water or many palm free recipes are very soft. You can use just a small amount of mica for a soft or pastel colour or much more for a richer colour if needed. Start with a small amount and you can always add more
@@SoapSchoolUK Hi Sara once again.. so the ingredients is: 150g coconut oil, 100g olive oil, 100g almond oil, 100 cocoa butter, 50g shea butter, 71g lye, 150 des.water, 10g tea tree e.oil, spearmint mint mica and Titanium Dioxide (for the white colour)? What i can use to replace Cocoa Butter?Bee wax could be ok?
@@NadiaJoseph Sadly it isn't a straight swap. If you change an ingredient you need to run it through a sap calculator to work out the new amount of lye required to turn it into soap. you also need to see how changing that ingredient will affect the other elements of the soap. Beeswax is not a replacement and the soap will be brittle and way too hard
You are so welcome Annette. Making large batches when you are just getting started and testing recipes and styles out gets expensive and often hold people back from making soap when they really want to. So I like to make small-sized batches and have lots of fun. I hope you enjoy it :D.
I am an Indian soap maker and I so vouch for tea tree oil. It is wondrous. Soap is simple and elegant. Loved it. Green is the best!
They are mostly designed for a 500g batch of oils plus the lye and water so around 700g in total

@@SoapSchoolUK I use tea tree in combination with lavender and eucalyptus in my Neem and Turmeric Soap and my Charcoal & Clay facial bars.
@@lkrsoapandsuch5767 Wow, that sounds absolutely delicious. I bet it is gorgeous on the skin too.

Love the outcome!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
2 questions! What is the white mixture and how do you mix it? And where did you get the mica powder?
👍👍👍Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks

Welcome! Kaolin will make it whiter but not pure white :)
I agree, no need to bevel the edges. Better to showcase being homemade.
Thanks, Sarah.🧡🩵💚🥰
Hi Sarah is the white coloring titanium dioxide ?? If not can u provide me how to make that?
Yes, it is Titanium dioxide :)
Hello my dear, thank you for the tutorial. What is the white ya?
The soap is divided into two and coloured green and white using titanium dioxide pigment
Thank you for the prompt reply.☺

Jyothi, it's a soap plane. If you type that into google you will find lots of different styles to choose from :)
Thank you so much.
I don’t understand what size soap mold to use (:
I make most of my recipes to fit a 500g (1lb) mould
Thank you Love You as a friend (: thank you for soap school 🩷
Hi! Thanks for your video. I have one question, can I mixed sodium hydroxide with tea tree hydrosol instead of water? Another thing, could you please share the ratio of the ingredients? Thanks
Yes you can, you can use all or part of the water amount as a hydrosol
Thanks a lot@@SoapSchoolUK
How do you mix your white? What do you use?
Hey Christine, I just mix titanium dioxide pigment with olive oil to make a liquid colour that is ready to use.
I'm in America how to turn this into ounces? Or could I just do im grams
The brand off The cutter? I live in sweden, so mayby amazon has that One?

@@SoapSchoolUK I shall look into the water issue but I do put everything through soap calc. Thank you
What other colours instead of mica would you recommend? (I am talking without it) like some kind of green or blue colour
You could use a green botanical instead :)
Can we add alove vera and glycerine with this?
Yes you could
hello which mica colour did u use?
Hey Nadia, We used Spearmint mica colour from Happy Olive

Replacement for sweet almond oil
You would need to recalculate the lye amount if changing the oil :)
What super fat was used?
😍😍😍🥰🥰
Can I bath with the soap?
Thank you for making a small batch it's irritating when soapers make large batches showing beginners 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏾♀️

nice recipe but the colours are quite sickly
Luckily micas come in tonnes of shades so you can pick whatever you prefer or use a natural clay for a duller muted shade :)
