Gary Hinton🇺🇲 was game, but Aaron "Hawk" Pryor 🇺🇲 was just too much as he successful defended his IBF jr welterweight title. On my scorecard I had Pryor winning 144-140...9-6 in rounds plus 10-8 14th round knockdown scored by Pryor under the 10 point must system. RIP HAWK....A great HOF fighter.

Pryor not the same fighter here as he had been maybe 3 years ago. The drugs were starting to take their toll.

Pryor won his title KOing a 1000-year old Antonio Cervantes then garnered his fame KOing a natural featherweight past his prime in Alexis Arguello. In Hinton he fought a guy his size and, subsequently, in Bobby Joe Young, who stopped him, he fought a bigger man…

He pwned Alexis in both fights 3d style, one with bottle and one without. Looks like the bottle helped Alexis more, he may have won 2 rounds in tge firstfight. lol
I bet you're fan of dat Irish Bum Billy Collins Jr from assault in the ring documentary produced by former kkk members.
      Fact checking
      No bottle
Billy Collins vs Luis Bum Resto will be normal fight
Panama Lewis would've been in Talks of goat trainer
Luis resto would have been in Kensington Philly
Assault in the ring documentary, would've not been produced
Billy Collins Jr may have been alive, may have had decent career found his Gatti, and HBO would've had trilogy

Thanks for uploading. This fight reasonably demonstrates that Pryor was an exciting fighter but wide open, technically limited and too small for the power and/or technical prowess of the Leonards, Hearns, Durans and Benitez of that era. Not sure why Pryor fans ignore the context of the times and who these other fighters were in the ring in that era and beyond to simply claim and even make videos to support the notion that Leonard, in particular, (the one who beat a peak Hearns, Benitez, Kalule and still world champion quality Duran plus years later a Marvin Hagler who was undisputed and undefeated in 11 years, and had beaten Duran, Hearns and Mugabe in the previous 3 years) was _afraid_ of Pryor. IMHO Leonard stops Pryor before the end of what would be a scheduled 15 rounds and without taking anything like the punishment he took against Duran (first fight) and Hearns. Amateur match-ups or sparring do not really determine the outcome between the same opponents in the pros on fight night e.g, Tillman beat Tyson twice in the amateurs.

Your comment makes all the sense in the world and is extremely knowledgeable but the Pryor before the layoffs gives Leonard, Duran, and Hearns holy hell. It's very possible Leonard is the only guy who comes away with a win. Pryor threw and landed many many punches. He could have worn all 3 greats out with the volume. Bites that we never got a chance to see any of those bouts. Salute 🫡

@@misteriosyrarezas5253thank you, Pryor fans get a little unrealistic when discussing Pryor. He could barely handle a war torn Super Featherweight Arguello, who also struggled with addiction and injuries. Roughly 50-75% of the boxers of that time struggled with and/or used drugs including Leonard. So that's no excuse for Pryor. Pryor without shop warn Arguello is possibly most overrated fighter in the history. Pryor was offered a fight with Leonard and Duran multiple times before he fought Arguello.

This Fight shows how and why Leonard, Benitez and other greats would have easily beaten Pryor, Duran & Hearns would KO him and Leonard & Benitez would win UD or Leonard may TKO Him.

Rspene smit, thanks for your comment....for although The Hawk was truly a great boxer....he was not a super great or legendary boxer like Duran, Hearns, Benetiz and Leonard.....for as my 600 vintage world championship title fights from the golden age of boxing (1964 - 1995) that I am posting on my webpage at www.imasportsphile.com .....proves out the fact that like Pryor, there are many great to outstanding boxers from this awesome era of boxing that will be overshadowed and even forgotten as time passes on.
