17:27 aha, and I like math because it teaches you how to prove something with an economy of steps in an elegant, bullet-proof style of logic, with definitions, axioms, and valid deductive argument forms, such as indirect proof, etc.
Good to see Oxford hired a free-thinker such as yourself, someone not hamstrung by the stodgy fashions and codes of the Bertrand Russell or J.L. Austin eras.
@@stokes8762 You've hear of the naked chef... he's the naked mathematician from the tattoo parlor down the way. You've heard of Oscar Wilde... he's more like wild Oscar.
38:12 regarding understanding the 'infinite', it's not so much a matter of thinking up the largest number n and then adding 1, to me, but rather: How do you explain and picture how many 3's are to the right of the decimal point when you express the fraction 1/3 as a decimal? That's a problem. As is realizing you do not really know the value of pi or the square root of 2 because it goes on forever decimally. The key maybe to chuck the decimal system for those.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
1) Congratulations Dr Tom. My little one Subscritpion is just a drop 💧 in the bucket ...but I'm happy that it added to the 'whole' regardless. 2) You mentioned 500K as the next hopeful milestone. How long do you think it would take to reach that milestone based on the rate your subscribers would have been growing till this 200K point? Do you think it would follow a linear path or an exponential path? (You did mention that Calculus is analyzing change over time). Can you do some light calculations to predict the year and maybe month you think you may reach 500K?? 🤔 😁 You did also say that you stayed away from utilizing Your Maths prowess to apply it to economics and Statistics to predict Human behaviour..because its annyoing, LOL,..so i hope doing that prediction of how subscriptions will grow is not too demotivating 😁 Congrats again 🙏🏾

21:50 yes, it was in that range; I came up with x = .63

So looking ridiculous is being a free thinker and not stodgy wtf?🤣

I posted the solution to the expnents problem - where did it go?
Am I lucky that you answered all 3 of my questions? 🤔
Can't wait! 😁
Funny how the girls who tune in don't even realize you're more straight than David Beckham.
Did he ever say that?

Hello ~
Regarding naked math, a chef a few years ago gained popularity as 'the naked chef'; so, the name was a proven attention-getter.
just call it oxbridge 😌
