The Tenakth tattooing process of striking the tattooing instrument with a wooden mallet is clearly inspired by the tattooing style of Polynesian tribes.
An admirable tribe. My favorite so far. I love how their culture derives from the remainings of a museum exhibition. Highlighting the importance museums have as preserves of culture but most important of ideologies. The little snippet we get from the Memorial Grove where we learn the Ten may have not been as honorable as the exhibition proclaims is really refreshing too. A critique on the military and the Tenakth misstep in romanticizing them, as honorable as they have remained. That’s why we get two sides of the coin with Hekarro and Regalla. Love this tribe. Kotallo has become my baby girl and his arc was immaculately written.
Agreed, there armor and tattoo designs are my favorites. When I obtained the tenakth marshal armor in the game, I wore it through the rest of my playthrough.
If nothing else, one of the things I appreciate about the writing in this game is that it shows that all people have their nuances. No people are all good or all bad.
I just remembered Ullia from Horizon Zero Dawn. She was a Tenakth that escaped Carja prison during one of the side quests, it was Sunstone Rock. That's a neat detail from the first game.
The Tenakth remind me a lot of Polynesians like the Maori, the Samoans, or the Hawaiians. They are generally respectful and possess rich cultures, but if you go to war with them? They will kick your butts. 💪🏼
At first i thought tenakht are blood loving psychos but as i progressed through the game i found they are actually nice and strong people that just want to protect their lands
@@novo121 From their perspective it was incredibly barbaric and it's not as if they could just go up to them and ask 'hey fellow human, why are you drinking blood'
Out of all the tenakth conquerors, there are only 2 conquerors that fight for you, and they are both desert clan. One is located in a desert clan outpost which is 100% guaranteed to spawn and another randomly spawns near one of the salvage contracts, and you encounter it fighting fire fang horns
Woke up early from a long night to catch this one. The work you do to share the lore of Horizon's world, Chili, is always appreciated, inspiring and highly anticipated. Thanks yet again for sharing your talents so well!
One of my big questions going into the sequel, was how they were going to come up with new and interesting tribes. The Tenakth really take the cake. I was completely fascinated by them. This is cool
The Utaru are decently interesting too. Their whole thing with the cycle of life and death and their seed pouches is a pretty interesting thing. And they show that not all of them agree on the complacency of just letting themselves die for the cycle.
I have to admit, I'm looking forward to a Video on Seyka or any Burning Shores content TBH. Burning Shores is honestly my overall favorite Horizon Content so far both from a story standpoint and a gamer standpoint. :)
Now that Buring Shores is out now, are you guys planning to make a video about the Life of Walter Londra? I hate to say it, but it was rather brilliant how that creep used the Quen's own religion to manipulate them into doing his bidding. The whole story reminded me a lot of Hades, Helis and the Eclipse from the first Horizon game.
Thank you! I did video a while back on Sunking Jiran, it covers quite a bit. I'd also recommend the comic recaps I did on the Liberation Arc, lots in there 👍
My favorite tribe amoung all them. Despite their bloodshed and violent history, their stoic, harsh and dominant personalities, they really are a caring people once you get to know the individuals in the clans. And how it was an honor meeting the first chief and his most powerful amd resourceful marshal Kotallo. i admire how they dont outcast the orphaned and take them in as their own and give them a time of day. And how they truly become a united tribe once they witness the vision Hekarro saw alone. I hope we get to see more of them in Horizon 3.
Sun King Ariv.... the bow the Tanakh took..... it took me a while to put two and two together even after listening to this on more than one occasion that you can get that exact bow in Horizon forbidden West it's called the Ariv's downfall..... I had to actually gotten that weapon before I first listened to this when I first play the game and I never understood why it was named that and for some reason up until just now after probably listening to this 100 times I now just caught his name and put two and two together😅
Wait, how do we know officially that all American tribes came from Eleuthia 9, when evidence suggest it was only the Nora and Carja’s ancestors who came out of it? I always thought that all the other tribes descended from different cradle facilities scattered across the continent
Dawg where do you find this info bc I read almost every datapoint and whatnot and I didn’t know they drink their opponents blood after they beat them. And there’s a lot of other really specific details that I didn’t know about like, where are you finding this stuff? Because I cant find it anywhere. This tribe is like a Latin American tribe with a unique Mayan style. This tribe is the strongest, wild, fierce, brave. They can make gladiators capable they are already strong in comparison carja Utaru
I never liked how the tenakth were presented in the game, as outside of the few extremists, they were rather docile . I did love how they were written and the stories that came along.
I still remember the moment when I realized the Tenakth visual design was based on static and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the brilliance of it
Static what?
@@YaBoiDREX Visual static (the glitching on the museum holograms)

You gotta give it to them, they really know how to pay attention to details.
