What a voice indeed.
The key reason as to why the music sounded so good back in those days, was the use of instruments. Can you hear that horn playing in that melody towards the end when he says, Times are good or bad, happy or sad! Then the harmonizing of the back up singers, Leeeeeet's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, let's stay together, you put it all together and you get 100 percent pure unadulterated genius!

There's too many great artists and songs from the 70's that would take you many many years to listen to. Those of us who were brought up with this music appreciate you taking us back and remembering the way music was and should still be. Today's music has nothing on the 70's. Today the music is about violence, gangs and bitches!! Mom wasn't even concerned about what we were listening to, she didn't have to worry about the lyrics. Again, keep them coming. Can't wait to hear what's coming tomorrow!!
This has to be the greatest Love Song , especially for the Romantic, ever sung. When it came out in the early seventies (I think it was the Spring of 1973) we were all blown away. That was the year I met my husband and we enjoyed this so much. (If you get my drift).

Al was one of the writers on this, and his recording is the best by far I think. Tina Turner also recorded it in the 80s, and her version is sweet, but there’s just something so special about Al’s voice! 🌻
