This is a side of RFK I didn't know about and I'm impressed!
I started working out by myself at work on our breaktime. We have a small area set aside with free weights and recently a cable workout setup.
One of my coworkers started giving me pointers.
I love that your channel emphasizes proper technique.
I'm 63 and Arnold is one of my heroes!

High rep (20 to 30 reps), medium weights doing 3 supersets at a time, then get 400 to 500 reps in under 30 minutes. Intensity is the key. I've done this for over 3 years, going to be 59 years young soon. It works for me.

My son was born when I was 44 and I made a commitment at that time to be healthy for him for the rest of my life. I was 6’ tall and weighed 235 pounds at the time. Now I’m 70. I weigh 175 and work out with my trainer 3 times a week as well as one day on my own and I take long hikes 2 or 3 days a week. Recently my son, who is 25, came to one of the workouts with me. He stays in pretty good shape, runs and lifts regularly and eats a decent diet. I demolished him at the workout - he was sucking wind by the end of it and I was ready for more. Now he’s going to my trainer regularly. I know he’ll be kicking my butt in a few weeks but that’s fine - being able to do that at 70 was very satisfying! I’m not gonna lie - it gets harder to do this as you get older. But as I like to say, I never regret a workout! Keep going! It matters!

My dad was born two years before Mr. Kennedy was, and he passed at 60. He ate right (he had type 1 diabetes, so he had to manage his nutrition his whole life), and he exercised regularly because his job, nursing, required a high degree of upper body strength. He didn't look half as good as Mr. Kennedy, hormone replacement or not. My dad's 83 same thing. Former bodybuilder professionally and a tremendous all-around athlete. Thanks Dad for your genetics.... That said, I considered a very unfair analysis and assessment because the man has no lived experience with aging, the shoulders, the elbows, the knees, and the hips. You have no idea what's waiting for you. RFK Jr ignores the pain but does not do full range motion because when you get older I'm going to tell you that is a no-go often not possible without doing more damage than hypertrophy. Extensive inflammation can put the kibosh on your joints at that age so don't criticize him for his form. It's so weak myopic and narrow in scope of understanding the aging process. I don't even know where to begin criticizing this "expert."

No reason you can not get it back , with assisted ones, bicep curls, lat pull downs - I went from none to a lot in 6 months as a 59 year old. Now add some weights every once and awhile, which I think helps with grip strength- like 25KG extra - TBF I lost 10Kg and gained muscle - no TRT though , just creatine. Want to have more 1 arm grip strength. Always a laugh watching a 60Kg you tuber telling you it's easy when you weight 90Kg . just realise progress in first couple of months is slow- takes 6 weeks to build strength . If older please warm up, plus warm muscles mean it's easier . Pullups, press-ups and squats - then cardio, movement/flexibility is all most people need to stay in shape - plus maybe some light weights to stand watching sport to swing around , raise to roof when team scores a goal/try/point/run/td etc in the lounge

I think the most important thing that Jeff said in the video was to have a why; a deeper meaning for doing what you do. Years ago, I would workout and then stop after a few months. Time would pass and I would repeat the process. A little before I married, we found out that my fiancée had myotonic muscular dystrophy. Fast forward to five years into our marriage and my wife fell trying to get up from the couch. Her condition had progressed to the point that she was unable to get up off the floor. I went to help her up and I struggled immensely. When I was finally able to get her on the couch I was out of breath. I could tell by the look on her face that she was worried about how hard it was for me to help her knowing that she would require more assistance in the future. From then on, she became my wife. I had to improve all areas of my life so that I could better care for her. When she was weak, I had to be strong. If I gave up or slacked off, then her life would suffer. I strongly urge you to find your why and to remind yourself of it daily. God Bless and have a great week!

And God bless you sir for still marrying this woman, even though you knew she had a terrible disease.
A lot of men would walk out, in fact, a lot of men did!
Even when they were already married for years they would let their spouse down once they found out that she’s ill instead of supporting the one woman they once “loved”.
You made a statement saying: “don’t ask what your wife can do for you, but ask yourself what you can do for your wife!”
I praise you Sir and I hope that you and your wife have a happy and fulfilling life together.

As a guy in his 50's who has been working out many years, who is not on TRT and has never taken steroids, it is impossible for me today to do my first set and go to failure. One of the things that have changed for me with age is the need to warm up more. I use my first two sets just to loosen my joints with very little weight, then the intensity starts to kick in.

.i still want to train hard, but i have learned cutting back and eliminating certain exercises definitely benefits me rather than hurting..i train instinctively ,i always do different workouts every workout..i stop when i feel i did enough..for decades i over trained and ate a ton of food plus protein power etc..now i eat 2 meals a day...

This was informative, thank you. I'm 67. I'm fit, but I don't look like RFK Jr. Mostly I cycle to stay fit. But I do some weight-training; my condo complex does have a decent weight room. Watching this, there are a few things I think I will tweak about my weight routine. I've become totally plant-based in my diet as I've aged to protect my heart. I don't county my macros religiously, but I do structure my basic diet around making sure I get the right amounts of protein, carbs and fat. I also roughly count my daily caloric intake, but I don't obsess about it. I don't take supplements nor buy into any de-aging schemes. I do take a popular brand of men's multivitamin daily. I try to do most of my eating in an 8 hour window, but it's not always possible. You are so right, Jeff, about allowing flexibility in your food intake routine to allow for social commitments. Don't become so rigid that you neglect other parts of your life. This is all working well for me. I'm healthy, feel great and am still very active.

I agree so much! As an healthcare worker, it's true what he said about the social duty to stay fit (if possible). The chronic preventable diseases cost so much to all of us $$$ and it's kind of terrible for your family to have to care of you if you are sick by something that could have been preventable with a better lifestyle. No one wants to be a burden so let's try to be it the least possible... :)

I've been lifting weights since 1972 consistently but I have to admit they do seem a lot heavier in the last couple! Warms ups are more important and more necessary now than ever than in the past!! Form is everything, a lot more important than heavier weight!

Considering John F. Kennedy’s work on the health of Americans in the 60s, RFK seems to be following his advice as well. I’m still inspired by the work at La Sierra High and their fitness program at the time. If you have not seen the videos about the high school, I would certainly encourage you to do a quick search on it and reflect on your surroundings and compare it to the kids of that time. Those kids were machines!💪

Regardless of any politics, this is a great example for men as they get older. He is obviously very serious about maintaining good health thru proper nutrition, a conscientious exercise regimen and supplements. As for the TRT, totally appropriate for his age and activity level if pursuant to a physician’s recommendation and supervision.
