  • There's a huge variety of exercises but here I extracted the most relevant and useful ones for swimming goals. I also paid tremendous attention on technical performance of each drill and it must be adhered.

    For the exercise that you are doing at the 4:20 on, a couple of things I do differently. On the one you show, I was told to put a rolled up towel or T shirt under that elbow which makes you keep that elbow in by your body. I also, from your starting position, use the left side arm, where the pull starts at your tummy and you rotate your shoulder to the outside. This has you exercise both the front and back sides of the deltoid muscle.

    Before I saw this video I thought I was the only one using swimming strokes on a resistance band lol. What I do (I am a non-swimmer by the way) is assume 50 strokes = a length of a swimming pool. Therefore I do as many lengths as I can before my arms become too tired, then increase the number of lengths each time. I just do the breast stroke at the moment. It doesn't work the legs of course so I go on the exercise bike for an equivalent amount of time.

    Thank you so much for this video Alex!!! Can you help me with a question? How do we simulate back crawl and kick (no arms)? I think you covered front crawl and pull. Just to explain, I am trying to substitute for swim training like this:
    WU(Z2): 500m as (200m fc, 50m pull, 100m fc, 50m back, 100m fc)
    Technique(Z2) 200m kick alternating 25m on back, 25m kick on front. 400m as 8x(25m kick on front, 25m fc.
    Main(Z2/3): 400m kick as (25m Z3, 25m Z1) + 30secs. 400m fc + 30secs. 4x100m pull + 30secs.
    WD (Z1): 400m back/fc

    Backstroke - attach the cords overhead like a strong tree branch, low swing set, railing, etc and do the movement underneath.
    Breaststroke variation - do front scull under tension, then as a separate movement do the "window wiper"/mid-scull.

      You can do less plus it’s your body so feel which ones feel bad for you. If you don’t have bands find a different land training video there’s so many which are really good.

    • @aloevera7422
      @aloevera7422 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one is "too fat" to exercise. Ask your doctor which exercises you can do. You can start by walking outside for 10 minutes every day. You'll get more confident and further exercise becomes easier. Start small.
      Don't let anxieties, worries, and judgments in your mind stop you. Exercise will help you move past those things.

    As a swimming coach and a sports science graduate, I strongly disapprove the purpose of this video. Some of these exercises are correct, but they were performed incorrectly. Others are completely dangerous (knees, lower back, shoulders, pectoralis major and minor) Plus a few are missing...
    Not every swimmer has the muscle/joint ability to do these things , which in this case will lead into injury.
    Take advice from your coaches and other professionals. Don't copy other individuals because it's easier to get the information this way. Ask your coaches, seek correct and verified information
    Lastly, every swimmer needs more than anything to reduce the amount of calories intake during this period in accordance with endurance training (running, bike, indoors conditioning)
    Hopefully this will be red from most of you and help you with your goals ❤️

    • @fst2822
      @fst2822 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The execution in this video is horrendous, you're right. But the exercises themselves aren't badly chosen for a swim specific workout.
      Edit: the more I'm watching (I'm watching the breatstroke exercises right now), the less I can believe this guy is an actual certified swim coach. This is just awful execution!
