- The Joro spider is a venomous flying spider that's expected to spread along the East Coast this summer, scientists say. The colorful critters have a 4-inch leg span and use a technique called ballooning, where they release silk threads that catch the wind, blowing them as high as 3 miles into the air.

As an Asian I can vouch that they don't pose a threat to humans. They are quite harmless and shy. Actually they are helpful by taking down pest in rice fields etc.
Venomous, so I click on the video... but they don't bite humans
"rarely bite humans"
Venomous and the next picture is a person holding it.
They are harmless to humans.
Man these spiders boutta get the same treatment as those lantern bugs and get stomped out
Fun fact. Did you know if all spiders worked together they could take out the entire human population
yeah I fact checked this and saw that Joro spiders are pretty docile and not extremely toxic
Rip to all the people who have aranciphobia
Flamethrowers exist
@@lilcj2014where is anyone gonna get a flamethrower
@@qzxcqhrs a lighter,and a air canister.
Yeah I saw hundreds of these when i was in South korea, and they were very docile. They usually liked being in large groups high up on building structures but ive never seen them go down, just intimidated to look at
I didn’t even know these were venomous - they are all around my house and garden here in Florida and have been for years. Kinda unnerving if you walk into one but I’ve never been bitten. So, how venomous are they if you accidentally provoke one? Edit: similar to a bee sting, apparently. Not sure if they can cause necrosis (tissue damage) and infection, though. The articles are so vague about it in efforts to calm people down they don’t give any information.
Nah they are harmless people are just freaking out because it's a spider so it also makes easy headlines. I think the more worrying part is that it's an invasive species, so you should look more into what harm it does to your local ecosystem as an invasive species and dedicate actions based off of that.
They don't bite humans.....and they not new to the u.s. been around since around 2014 or 2015 or so.
They are venomous , but their venom does not affect humans.
Why is the flying spider looks like a scopion
The Watchman River channel`s newest vid brought me here.

Really? Why? I’m TERRIFIED of creepy crawlies 😢
I'm guessing here but I'm going to say it has something to do with their user name.
@@justmejenny7986 😊😊😊😊 You’re probably absolutely right.
@@justmejenny7986 you got it 😁
CBS, they don't fly. Some of the spiderlings disperse ballooning with a line of silk, like many other spider species, but not adults. Joros are similar in size to native Garden (Writing, Zigzag) spiders.
I hope these make it to Texas,we have the big yellow and black orb webs, but these would be cool to share the same habitat with them.
The flying part got me lol to grew up with banana spiders .no biggie.👀
Don't they need a passport 😂
They certainly don't fly. They baloon
That's nothing like what Spider-man does
The Bug A Salt company better get started on skipping past the 4.0 and right to the 5.0 version.

Venomous or not, it's still a spider, funk that
Another gift from our good friends that brought us covid
you have a better chance of being bite by a Brown Recluse than one of the Joro's
Why do they cut Nate off?

They are not venomous.
Yes they are, but their venom is not deadly to humans or pets.
