Ooohhh.hh The world of closeup photography..... a world of endless subjects and opportunities..... Thank you very much, as always, for your articulate descriptions of your methods. Quiet Learning....
Another good video! Always enjoy watching my two favorite photographers work with each other. Very nice images. Just goes to show you that a good photographer can get nice images in any light.
I've heard of women's cycles syncing up over time, but photographer's compositions is certainly a new twist! Nice images. Were those bristlecone pine cones? Didn't know they were in low altitudes. I was in 116 degrees in the Mojave Desert yesterday taking images, so not much sympathy for being hot from me ;-) Safe travels. More please.
Have often shoot in harch light in the wood. It have some benefits, you expose for the highlight and get a faster shutter, lower ISO. The funny about white light are when it become lesser exposed, colors start to appear in the highlights. I rarely shoot in cloudy days now, lots of light give drama of light and shadows. So much to play with and gets enough exposures.
Can I recommend, if you can, get yourselves to the Oregon/California border on the coast? - miles of beaches, headlands. If you go inland you hit the "Land of the Giants" - redwood forests. It is one of my favorite areas to photograph and an easy camping area. Just going south on the Pacific Coast Highway, no matter the season, you're light will change. I think you'd love it. Do not miss the many Oregon breweries - decent stout.
@@QuietLightPhoto Adam, I mean those horrible engravings on the rocks - the RAW file at 8.18 - I hate when people want to leave a sign in nature, as well as engravings on the trees. That's not your fault, naturally, but such things move my nervous system. I think you did right to show the writings just to remind how bad some people could be. Ciao!

18:05 looks like an ancient map.
Love all this intimate photography you're doing. Really great way to escape and not worry about glory light
Cheers, Alister!
I love this type of photography Adam, some amazing images, thanks for sharing
I continue to admire your minimalist approach to processing. 👍
Thanks!

Hallo Adam, thank you ever so much for this video! The patterns, especially those on the logs are awesome, fine edits! Mother nature is painting…
Cheers, Martin!
I really enjoy these "close up" videos. Living in north Texas, it's pretty much what we do if it's not spring or autumn.
Yes, Guinness does help with everything.
Always!
Went to Gabriola Island recently, nice place for a getaway and interesting photo opportunity. Very first scene I thought hummm it looks like Gabriola!
Enjoyed your video thanks for posting 👍
Thanks!
Another excellent weekend, great images there mate. 😉👍
Cheers, Pal!
Thanks Adam, sometimes simpler is better.
It certainly is
Nothing like Chinese Sasquatch eggs and boiled piss tea! Love the images of the rock patterns.
I shot in some harsh light today. Had my Lastolite with me, basically turned the sun into a giant soft box.
Cheers from Okanagan valley British Columbia 🇨🇦 ☕️

No, I don't believe that we get Bristcones here.

I can see both you & Brian enjoyed your selves on this shoot, the light & patterns were real nice. How was the tea Brian, lol?
Bill...❤
Haha, yeah, he doesn't drink tea for some reason.
What do 'they' say about the summertime blues? Loved the cliff photo! Cheers.
Very nice Adam, too sad for the writings on the rocks 😞
Tell me about it

Love the patterns!!!
I like you and I like Brian.
Thanks!
I thought in one of your episode you said, Brian doesn't believe in zoom lenses, I guess I miss the episode he changed his mind.
He did except for the 100-400, it is a nice lens for sure
Perhaps Teredo navalis to thank for the texture in that first log. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teredo_navalis?wprov=sfti1
Ah thats looks more likely for sure
