I like that you are showing the RAW file after the processed one. It is quite helpful and also surprising how much detail is really present in a dark scene.
Don't apologize for the long video Adam. I really enjoyed it, and It was over before I knew it. Beautiful pictures as always. Your pictures and that music playing in the background go together so well. It's very healing and soothing for the soul.
If you are going to keep tackling a composition, then that is a good one to play with. Obviously it changes a bit over the years and the light is different every time. I loved them all. I will be in the Rockies with you in spirit my friend. Cheers.
Nope. Didn't fall asleep! Stayed with it right to the end and thoroughly enjoyed the video! People (who aren't photographers) think I'm nuts when I tell them one of the main things I like to photograph is trees!
Hey Adam... I REALLY love the way you show your raw files AND your processed images in your vlogs. As one who is still learning, it's especially helpful to see what you see originally, and then how your vision of it progresses to a finished product! Thanks!! 😎
Man those tranquil intros are so relaxing. Great for the morning porcelain. Nice to see a new corner of Vancouver Island and digging the branded touque mate!! Those layers at 12:50 and the red sun, wow!!
What a stunningly beautiful place, no wonder you were mellowed out! The variety and range of shades of green in that landscape is mindboggling, it defines the word lush ! Thanks for sharing Adam, cheers.
Beautiful forest pictures. You inspired me to venture out to the challenging and cluttered forest scenes and make pictures there. Cheers to you and your art.
You are...the Tolkein of old growth forest imagery! I don’t know how else to describe it. You manage to capture and create such a depth of atmosphere and interest. That sunset was also on another level. Thank you for continuing to inspire.
I love it when you explain how you go about choosing what you are about to shoot. Yet, every photo in this video came as a surprise to me because after hearing you downplay the result of your careful compositions, what immediately followed was sort of a shock, another simply stunning photo. Videos like this one are what is so special about your channel. Many thanks.
Just moved to Vancouver Island from the UK two days ago... Partly through inspiration from yourself and Gavin. I can't wait to explore the likes of this forest when I make it out west.
Really liked the last two images towards the end of the video not the last one but the one 10 years was definitely better. Nice Kuhl sweater by the way!
Beautiful photos as always, one of these days will make it up to Vancouver Island to enjoy some of the beautiful scenery. Have a safe trip to the Rockies and look forward to you next videos. Thank you once again
Great video, as always! I really enjoy your calm approach and the way you´re able to convey the stillness and peace of those magnificent forests! The images are also beautiful! Take care
What a great relaxing end to a weekend. Your forest videos are an inspiration, relevant wherever you live. Time you were signed up by the Canadian tourist board, you sell your Island well.[Vancouver Island, not the whole continent!!] Love the shot with shaft of light coming between the two trees.
Came across your video, then I checked your website. Gotta say I don't comment much on youtube videos, but I had to! Your pictures are out of the ordinary. I was in awe only by looking at them.
The pano was absolutely perfect in every way , just like being there . I miss these peaceful , informative videos from you . Gavin is a hoot but learn so much more from these !
Your forest shots are a real inspiration. I know how challenging it is to find a composition that works because I have never succeeded. But, yours are lovely.
Adam, The gentle light ratio in that forest is quite appealing to me. I love those conditions of subtle light direction and saturated palette. Looking at these photos, I expect a forest creature, perhaps a deer or elk, to emerge. The work is alive! Thank-You, Mike
Great video, your explanations of the scenes you are visualizing will help me think a little more when shooting similar scenes. My sister lives out there, so I will be inviting myself back.
I did make it to the end, always delighted to watch you capture the subtle beauty of any scene, especially forests. There is so much beauty around us in the Earth but it takes your kind of perspective to bring it our attention. Thanks Adam!
Adam, as always a great video. Even leaving your long lens at home, you obviously didn't need it. That was a great shot of the layers of distant mountains and sunset. I really enjoy getting to see your older work compared to current work as you showed with that last composition. Thank you for the content you produce and share with us, your audience.
That picture of the sunset from your campground with the layers in the peaks and the red sun was absolutely gorgeous. I'd buy a print of that and hang it on my wall for sure. The photo of the trees at about 18:30 are so whimsical - love it! And I only dozed off because I went for a walk this morning in my neighborhood to do some long-overdue photography and I'm a bit knackered. :) The music you always select is so very mellow ... :)
I, too, have watched the entire video Adam. And I did it with great pleasure and have enjoyed all the time what you have shown us. Thank you for the valuable tips too ... keep it up!
Excellent video, Adam! BTW, I really like your new “Quiet Light” stocking cap for your “Adam Only” videos... it is sharp and it is “all you.” It makes for good separation of characters. On the other hand, I very much enjoy your collaborations with Gavin where “Uncle Grumpy” emerges in full force (complete with Uncle Grumpy stocking cap). Two different styles of videos, both entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work.
Adam, beautiful images and thanks for running us through all details in those shots. I enjoyed the video thoroughly till the end and not for once felt it was longer than usual. Your presentation style and those spontaneous talks makes it lively. Thank you is a very small word for taking time to create such rich content and continuing to inspire me.
Adam, I absolutely enjoyed this...beginning to end. When I think of Adam Gibbs this is just what I think about. Quiet and calm with beautiful images. Thanks Adam! Nick
Top drawer images as always Adam. You are very fortunate to live in one of the most stunning parts of the world. Keep 'em coming. ( ps. Gavins such a nice boy isn't he )
Having just spent time in the forest yesterday and feeling challenged to know how to capture the essence of what I was seeing, this was a very timely and helpful video. thanks.
Lovely images...nailed the feeling I have when I'm in forests such as Carmanah...you can feel the peace, the tranquility and the ages...thanks for taking us along.
Hey Adam, one more interesting video with good How-to tips. See you with the shimoda in the latest videos. What about a "what's in my new shimoda bag" video? My interest is how you arrange your (known) gear in that new bag.
Would love to see you edit one of these old growth scenes , beginning to end . I have many shots from similar areas in the PNW but find them challenging to edit to convey what I saw and felt .
Simply beautiful images, and very much appreciated your explanations/insights into forest photography, particularly the need to make an image which stands out from other forest images. Cheers!
Ya, some chimes at the end to alert the sleepy viewer that it's over would be nice. :^) The sunset shot with the layers and layers of hills - my personal hot button. Love those shots. Not that the tree shots are not moving, I'm just particularly moved by the hills. Sigh, really need to find a way to get up there and do some shooting and hiking.
Enjoyed every minute of this Adam, superb images. In fact the images in this reminded me of your early videos that had me hooked some time ago. I gained so much more understanding for light from your content both in taking images and post processing. Cheers, Paul.
That sunset photo at 12:32 is incredible!
Mads Peter Iversen thanks Mads!👌🏻
I like that you are showing the RAW file after the processed one. It is quite helpful and also surprising how much detail is really present in a dark scene.
Completely luminous light. Just beautiful.
The world of Adam Gibbs is beautiful 👌
Don't apologize for the long video Adam. I really enjoyed it, and It was over before I knew it. Beautiful pictures as always. Your pictures and that music playing in the background go together so well. It's very healing and soothing for the soul.
Beautiful view of the old trees at about 9:40 mark... and the 24-120 did a real sweet job on the sunset too... really enjoyed, right to the end...
Have a great trip to the Rockies !!!! Have a great light!!!
Great video. I can imagine why you are the landscape photographer of the year.
If you are going to keep tackling a composition, then that is a good one to play with. Obviously it changes a bit over the years and the light is different every time. I loved them all. I will be in the Rockies with you in spirit my friend. Cheers.
Yes you will be missed James

Greg Snell glad you found a comfy spot to watch Greg🤡🎉
The forest is amazing but absolutely loved the sunset scene.
What a stunningly beautiful place, no wonder you were mellowed out! The variety and range of shades of green in that landscape is mindboggling, it defines the word lush ! Thanks for sharing Adam, cheers.
I am so pleased I have finally found your photography - even if it was via Gavin - renewed inspiration from the artful way you interpret beauty.
Loving your back catalogue, Adam. 🦘👍
Nice video, the trees whispering on your compositions.Simply amazing..
Another Gem from start to finish.
Beautiful forest pictures. You inspired me to venture out to the challenging and cluttered forest scenes and make pictures there. Cheers to you and your art.

Tom Strawbridge you say that like it’s a good thing😂😂 congrats on your move, I think?
Really liked the last two images towards the end of the video not the last one but the one 10 years was definitely better. Nice Kuhl sweater by the way!
Sunset image was gorgeous Adam 👍👍👍👍 Love your videos✌
That sunset is gorgeous - feels like you can see the Sun slowly gliding down to the horizon.
Beautiful photos as always, one of these days will make it up to Vancouver Island to enjoy some of the beautiful scenery. Have a safe trip to the Rockies and look forward to you next videos. Thank you once again
Honestly I enjoy the longer videos. Like to grab a coffee, sit back, and enjoy being inspired. Thanks for the work you do to put out these videos.
Beautiful shots Adam, I just love the way you edit your woodland shots. Very inspiring
PhotoNinja hey thanks Tom!
The shot with the highlighted mist between the tree trunks near the end of the video defines quiet light for me. Very nice!
Michael Vail he lives up to that slogan for sure!
The Tree Whisperer strikes again, and the sunset/hill layering ain't too shabby either!
There is no question that I would stay until the end. Awesome photography. Always the best.
John Rayner I second this comment
Agreed!
Great video, as always! I really enjoy your calm approach and the way you´re able to convey the stillness and peace of those magnificent forests! The images are also beautiful! Take care
Glad you are back home.
Mary L Scaia me too

Great video I can't wait to visit an old growth myself.
Breathtaking.
Great to see the tree whisperer at work! Beautiful shots Adam. I really enjoy the longer videos as well.
Came across your video, then I checked your website. Gotta say I don't comment much on youtube videos, but I had to! Your pictures are out of the ordinary. I was in awe only by looking at them.
Another great photography adventure! Thanks for the information Adam.
You are very good I must say stunning photos and I saw was trees
12:32. That sunset, very nice. Beautiful photos, but that sunset does it for me. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice woodland photography Adam, well done.
The lights and darks are so good. I also enjoy your super smooth video moves. Really great work Adam.
That was lovely - back to my favourite habitat - old growth forest, and Adam Gibbs at his best.
Wendy Newing he is a master in the forest!
So enjoyed this video Adam. It felt like I was sitting in the forest for a 20 minute meditation . Beautiful !
Those last two images... just wow.
Adam, I'm always amazed at how much you're able to accentuate a forest photo. Love it.
Adam,
The gentle light ratio in that forest is quite appealing to me. I love those conditions of subtle light direction and saturated palette. Looking at these photos, I expect a forest creature, perhaps a deer or elk, to emerge. The work is alive!
Thank-You,
Mike
Mike Mitchell definitely a great example of what quiet light is.
I love a good rim lighting.
I enjoyed it. Forgive me for saying, but these rain forests, I feel, are your forte, and my favorite subject.
Great video, your explanations of the scenes you are visualizing will help me think a little more when shooting similar scenes. My sister lives out there, so I will be inviting myself back.
Those forests... Jealous factor 1000... Thanks for sharing these awesome places, Adam.
Beautiful pictures, Adam
Another good old growth forest video. Love these.
Gorgeous images.

Beautiful shot at 18:26.

Some great images there. The sunset was spectacular. Rock on!

Stunning images Adam. I really appreciate the effort that goes into these beautiful and informative videos.
Doug Sanderson I definitely support this statement. I was just telling someone else that he is extremely informative and well explained.
I, too, have watched the entire video Adam. And I did it with great pleasure and have enjoyed all the time what you have shown us. Thank you for the valuable tips too ... keep it up!
Hans Brongers I think he provides the most valuable tips. Always very well spoken and broken down.
Excellent video, Adam! BTW, I really like your new “Quiet Light” stocking cap for your “Adam Only” videos... it is sharp and it is “all you.” It makes for good separation of characters. Beautiful images! So well done. And the music was wonderful accompaniment. Thank you.
Still awake 😂! I love the last scene with the sunbeam coming through the trees - so beautiful 😍
I really enjoyed every minute of this! A great inspirational way to start my Saturday!
William Miller the goat has dropped another great video 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Bephotos, beautiful forest
Thumbs up Adam... always enjoy your comps... ;)
Definitely a "really enjoyed" rather than "fell asleep" one :-) Beautifully atmospheric photos Adam.

Simply beautiful images, and very much appreciated your explanations/insights into forest photography, particularly the need to make an image which stands out from other forest images. Cheers!
Ditto here, really appreciate Adam's detailed descriptions of thought processes in coming up with the images.
