Vancouver Island is the best for magical fog! Except for those weird days when it's completely clear in the places we least expect it. 😂😂 Tofino/Ucluelet always do that to me, hahaha. Still magical though, always. 😊

For battery charging, I now have a couple of batteries that can be charged directly from USB-C so I can use any powerbank to charge my camera batteries, and other devices.
Of course, the nice thing about your device is that it encloses the batteries, so it's fewer fiddly wires.

Thanks for the videos Adam. I've been a fan for years. Just saw my first Arbutus trees on a recent trip to the California-Oregon border area. I can see why you photograph them! Fabulous trees that really pop in the rain. The bark is spectacular as you know. Sadly, I couldn't stop in the rain, but a few days later I took some pics in the harsh sun and even those were decent. Thanks for the channel. Cheers.

You might want to get your butt down to the French Creek Estuary not on the marina side but the opposite side (directions to follow). The salmon are running and the harbour seals are coming in and jumping and diving for the fish. Quite dramatic with sometimes 4 or 5 jumping roughly at the same time. Yesterday I got a shot of two playing salmon tug of war to see who would get the salmon. Eagles will walk the shores. I have been going roughly around 1:00 PM when the tide is fully in, the seals swim further up the river. Directions: Cross the stinky bridge just past the turn off for the marina, take the first right after the bridge, roughly one hundred yards (if you take the left instead you end up at Windsor Plywood), drive down the road till it T's, take a right on this road that dead ends in a circle. Once you are in the circle you will see a dirt road going off to your left, drive on it, many deep potholes, and park at the overlooking river area.

about time Adam is plugging a product =) ..Very nice tempo on todays video. It felt very natural and I really felt it on the waterfall. I've got some of those myself. One time there was an amazing shot. after that, the conditions nor the weather have been enough to bother capturing anything there. But I seem to keep hoping. But I wonder why are you looking at FullFrame for hiking, when you really want MFT, you know. Olympus. Talk with Henry Turner, Adam. You are going to be amazed.

Thanks Adam. Great video as usual. I spend a lot of time in the wilderness too. The weirdest human interaction I had was coming across 5 or 6 people dressed in what can only be described as green rags stitched together, circling a tree holding hands and chanting and wailing. It was in the middle of nowhere. When they saw me, they went silent and just stared at me with angry and annoyed expressions on their faces. Really creeped me out as I watched Blair Witch Project just before that happened. I tipped my had and said 'Afternoon' and got out of there quickly. Was tempted to ask for a photo, but thought the better of it. I would have preferred a bear.

Love this area and you have captured some wonderful photos and video! Btw your vlogging done on an OP3? Nicely done regardless. As for your point about wildlife; I spend a lot of time hiking or backpacking alone in the mountains or forest and rarely every ‘worry’ about wildlife (but always respectful and aware’, but more more concerned about ‘people/yahoos”. Usually the closer I am to a large city the greater the awareness and concern!

What'd you think about that 24-240? I've been eyeing it for a while and not made the decision yet. It seems to pass technical reviews okay but that's not the same as actually using it.
Love that second image with the leaning tree. The subframing with a dash of color in the back is spot on.

Well Adam you have some very nice clean shots with that Cannon but if you're looking for something for a one lens and one camera you might want to veer off the cannon side unless of course you can get the lens for it and go over to the Nikon which one I don't remember but the lens is a 28 wide and for the zoom which is part of this lens which goes up to 400 mm so you have a 28mm WA-400mm zoom from Nikon and if memory serves me correctly and which it might and may not It also has a very good weather sealing built into it You might want to give that a try

    just a thought
Do you really need to change system for hiking?, R6 + 24-240mm = 1420g,
    GFX100s +50mm f/3,5 + 100-200mm =2300 g that is 900 g heavier, just do pano with the 50mm, no problem to cover 24mm
    I'm using gfx 100s and 50mm myself,
