A Sweden in control of the Baltic and Northern Germany would be OP, especially if the common Pole or Lithuanian saw them as helpful allies rather than foreign interveners.
Especially if you consider the fact that Sweden still doesn’t have that many people. I don’t think a Swedish empire across Germany and into Lithuania could work long term because it would likely just end up fracturing the second a subpar leader takes hold and the empire is put under pressure
Oh it pretty much is impossible especially in a timeline where Sweden ignores Polish claims to Silesia multiple times. Carl XII was a great general but ultimately a poor king. He learned like another God of War in the 1800s that Tactical and even Operational successes cannot translate to finalized Strategic success without the use of diplomacy and legitimacy. Had Carl XII played the diplomatic game better, as Gustav Adolf II had, his Empire might have lived instead of rising, and falling, on the battlefield. As it is, he is a hero, though flawed. He needed to be less of a genius and more communicative. He could have won at Poltova but for not communicating his plans better.
Don't forget that Charles was wounded before the battle of Poltava started, and so he could not participate. He was known to always participate in battle and would often be at the front line. He was Europe's last, true, warrior king. He inspired the troops under his command like no other. So, in part, that is why the battle of Poltava went the way it did. As Sabaton would say: "Rule was left to lesser men, waiting for their chance". Meaning, the king was not in command of the battle, at least not from a position that mattered.
Why would they destroy Petersburg? It would be much more likely that they would let the city be an administrative center for the region, especially seeing how Sweden had been building forts in the city's perimeters since the 14th century.
I personally believe that the outcome of the Great Nothern War would certainly change the Europen stage forever, but the downfall of the Swedish Empire is inevitable.
