My genny is a daily driver. And honestly it’s amazing fun and comfortable!

I had a 2015 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Ultimate in Black for 4 years as my daily driver, just traded her in. Had a lot of problems in the first 10,000 miles needed a new transmission, Engine and clutch- last owner was a kid who couldn’t drive,. She drove beautiful after that and it was all warranty. Hyundai is the best company when it comes to warranty they stand by their products. She was fast, noisy and fun - but I am 50 plus and my back is to painful for the jarring ride and constantly changing gears. If you are young and don’t use the back seat its a great and fun daily driver. Miss her already and its only been a week. Driving our old 2013 Genesis Sedan with the same motor, more comfort not as much fun. The wife got the Q50 3.0T which is quicker than the Genesis was for sure.

I daily drive my Genny not bad very reliable. Live in California so I won’t experience the frozen window 😂

For the freezing window apply silicone spray to the window channel. The ice will stick to the glass but not the rubber or leave the glass down 1/4 inch when you park so the window will already clear the weather strip the next time you open the door.
I love my gen, Im not about the looks more so the fun I daily it, I RIP it down logging roads, gravel roads. It's gone through blizzards plowing snow the whole way. Only had to replace 1 wheel bearing and 1 ball joint. Solid car. Oh it gets hot lapped to.

My Genny has been my daily driver for 4 years, in Prime Canadian weather. They are great.
For reference my car is lowered and I have a lip on it. With good winter tires I've never had a problem. But I live in the city.
What do you do for the frosen windows?
My Genesis is a daily. i just want the car too look nice and sound nice. the power performance itself is fast enough for me cause its daily. and btw dont need to lower honestly. the stock height is fine

Thanks for the video bro. I currently have a 2011 Sentra and it’s super reliable. I’m looking to buy a 2012 3.8 L gen coupe and was wondering if it would still give me that same reliability. I know I’ll be paying a helluva lot more for gas tho 😂
From what I've experienced so far the car has been amazing! Super reliable and honestly you can "easily" get 25+mpg in the car
I had a 2013 Genesis Coupe and I drove it everyday through summer and many Canadian winters. Lasted me 300000kms. Was still going strong but was having issues with one of the tires callipers always seizing
I'm on the fence about buying a 2011 coup, and I also love in Canada. My main concern is the clearance from the ground from the snow (it snows alot here). Wondering if you ever had issues with that?

I run all season tires in Spring through Fall and put winter tires on during the Winter. I have over 132k of daily driving my Gen Coupe in the mid-Atlantic. It is great fun in the snow.
How long have you had it for? My concern is the 16mpg. I'd really like to daily one but this will be a first time I consider a 16mpg as a daily. I live only 12 mins from work.

I really appreciate the support bro! Only thing I can really think is if possible go for a 2014+ they have the most up to date nav and infotainment system and if your not really looking to modify that much definitely go for the 3.8 its a whole lot faster stock that the 2.0, but if you want to do a lot of modifying the 2.0 can be made faster easier than the 3.8s

I daily drive a 2.0t tuned hitting about 325hp 355lbs of torque.shes a beast in the winter. Just dislike how all power is cut once you loose traction. Other than that I love my genny
I hate how the traction control works on these cars man it can make things kind of sketchy sometimes lmao

Snow?
I’m so excited for this car. I’ve been driving a 2005 f150, 2010 kia forte and lastly 2015 Sonata. The genny gonna be a huge upgrade for me. But what about the insurance for a 19 years old under my parents plan will that be too much?
Your gonna love it bro! Honestly it shouldn't be too bad then, Id have to guess under $150 a month and for sure under that if you've been accident free!

I live in the northeast and daily mine. I’m getting through my first winter with it. Luckily for me it’s only snowed maybe twice here and with my new job I get to work from home if it’s bad out. I did get stuck in the snow once though for two hours it was terrible. Snow tires and a lsd (I have the base with the open differential) for next winter
I've been stuck more times than id like to have been lmao, last year was stuck on my driveway for 2 days just left the car there lol. I'm definitely getting snow tires next year as well they appear to be miracle workers haha
ethanW haha that’s what I heard too. I’m going to try to pick up some Michelin ice x (installed for about $1000/set) this spring I’m throwing on Michelin pilot sport a/s. Heard their great. Do you think your limited slip diff helps?
@@Mustangkid29 I've never heard of those tires ill have to check them out! Honestly I'm not sure if the lsd helps, I want to say yes but I've never driven in the snow paired with good tires so I cant say for sure
ethanW yeah the pilot sports are suppose to be some of the best performance all seasons you can get and the ice x is alittle bit cheaper then blizeks. Hmm I’m debating dropping the $900 on the lsd 🤔

I daily drive a 2.0t bk2 since 3 years and no problem so far. Winter and summer and here in Quebec winter is really nasty.
How has it handled in the snow?
@@Awsme In a climb it's bad when a lot of snow is on the road but when it's flat it's just fun you just drift everywhere ;) but you need good winter tires.

@@connorhenley3782 I get about 22-24 mpg (premium) cruising about 85 mph. Drive mine 74 miles round trip daily, for the past 3 years.

Id personally go with a genesis coupe. In my town every time i drive around i see a 350z/370z but only like once a month ill see another genesis. Not saying thats what should make you decide what car to get but Its just way more unique and to me that makes the genesis cooler!
