I love the idea of a mexican gunslinger in 1887, the game could have 5-7 chapters and about half the game is split between mexico and the usa, in the game you could visit a state like new mexico or even california, and while you dont meet the whole gang there would be newspaper mentions and maybe even be able to see javier escualla in his prime, the player would be able to go into the usa after the mexican government personally tracks you down and kills a realitive or brother or family along those lines so would have to flee, and the game should end with your main character going back into mexico and personally kill the one who has killed your friends and forced you to flee or smth, however thats just my idea.
I always thought seeing the backstory of dutch and colm's rivalry would be really cool. there could be a lot of character development for colm, the brother dutch kills, etc... maybe the player character could even be an O'Driscoll, giving us another side to the story.

Great video.. The only reason I don't like jack being the next protagonist is the time frame, it will be around the 1920s, the wild west is a thing of the past by this time. When you think of RDR you think of a wild west game, and being a wild west game is what gave RDR its charm and is what made it so popular. Like you, Im liking Dutch or Sadie as the next protagonist. But, which ever way they take the story I know it will be great, Rockstar are masters at storytelling.
Jack Marston figbting in WW1, forced by the government to fight in the war to clear the Marsron name, is literally a concept that fits the name of the series. He had to kill a lot of germans to redeem his family name. Thus, he became a succesful writer afterwards.
you should take a look into mac callander, because the way gang members describe him sounds like a red dead protagonist, hes a heartless gunslinger with a heart, hes beaten up 15 sailors single handed, his death sounds like a mix of john and arthur's death, and he was brought up by agent milton in a mission that sets up the very end of rdr1. with those information in mind, it seems like rockstar already has setup for a third entry about mac callander. as for mac's redemption, theres not much to go off on, it will require creative liberties. maybe mac's redemption could be about him seeing the errors in dutch's gang and dutch himself much early on, and warns arthur about it, telling him when the time comes you gotta help people get out, which then arthur passes that onto john and other gang members in chapter 6. mac's second redemption would be he wants to leave the outlaw life and start a family and live in a house with a woman he loves, but he has gang members to look out for and his violent brother davey keeps dragging him into problems, so mac would be a morally grey complex character, which is good for the honor system, which i think would be similar to arthur's honor. but thats just my idea, maybe rockstar has a better one.
I kinda want to see a prequel story set right after the Civil War or it take place during the closing battles of the Civil War. That American event has some bearing on the story or RDR as well, we could see the back story to Bill as well as Dutches father. I dunno I’m just spitballing now
Red Dead Redemption 2 is also my favorite game ever made i was also disappointed how rockstar did not give us red dead redemption remastered also for 50 bucks and to PS4 what was a mad move now im just thinking what could have red dead 1 remaster be i would have loved new dialogue and graphics but yeah they were just busy with gta 6 so they probably killed the hype but what can i say world is unfair sometimes🤠🤷♂
I want RDR3 to be like RDR2, A brand new person that you never heard of as protagonist. Someone who at the first you're not sure you like much, and by the end you end up ugly crying over. And then, you get to play as Arthur in the epiloge. Perfect!
My personal favorite Protagonist choice would definitely be Mac Callander and it should be set during the high time of the gang, ending with the Blackwater Ferry Heist

I don't think it'll happen. The whole point of Red Dead One was the worlds changed for outlaws you either die like Dutch or you buy a lil time like John did. I really hope Rockstar makes an open world Pirate game i'd play the dogshit out of it.
I feel like the idea with the most potential is to start with Dutch and Hoseas meeting, perhaps playing as both of them before they meet and ending with the black water massacre. I’ve been dying to see the blackwater massacre and know more about it since red dead 1. Plus we could get to see Landon Ricketts in passing which would be cool. I really don’t understand wanting a Jack game because the west is basically no more by that point and Jack basically already got his revenge in the side mission where he kills Ross. However, having a completely knew set of characters in the peak of the Wild West is an option too. However I’d like to see one more game with the Van der Linde Gang. After we see the gang in their height I’d like to see the next game with new characters. Plus if we see a prequel to RDR2 we could even play as Mac
We don’t need another red dead redemption. Simply continuing the “Red Dead” ip and not having it be a redemption story is totally possible. A red dead game set post civil war with the political, social, and economic situation at the time would be historic. Maybe you could play as a former soldier, weapons dealer, gang member, politician, police officer etc.
I would love to see another prequel with Lyle Morgan as main character, since we dont know much about him and all we know comes from Arthur child memories, he always talk bad about his father but he still holds a picture and his Hat, that makes me think there is more to the story that just Arthur hate for his father, they could tie him with Hosea and Dutch making them friend or foe, and we could end with Young Arthur in prologue, for me that would be the perfect trilogy for RDR.
It would make perfect sense if red dead 3 be about Dutch and how he met all of the gang members along the journey there is a story for every gang member

I would ADORE a prequel, whenever i played the red dead games i always thought "huh, what would the van der linde gang be like in its peak", so having a game like that would be awesome but the story would prob be average
I think it should be a brand new protagonist away from the gang. Set out West and Mexico as a lawman or bounty hunter. We could have the choice of playing as honourable or corrupt. Also bring fame back from RDR. If it has to be about a VDL gang member then a prequel/ adjacent timeline story (to RDR2) about Mac Callander. Where we see Mac survive the black water massacre, a little shot up but survives.
Personally for me, I strongly believe Dutch should be the protagonist in RDR3, the first two games revolved around him so it makes sense. It should be set 10 years before RDR2 or maybe in the hayday of the wild west. The map should take place completely west of New Austin. Knowing Rockstar I believe they can still tie a redemption arc to Dutch, maybe he uses his gang members like pawns and grew to appreciate them by the end. Like before Annabelle dies she could tell him to look after Arthur and John. By the end of the game the gang can settle down in New Austin. I really think that redemption series is strongly tied to Dutch and the Van Der Linde gang. What I am saying is if we get a red dead game with a completely new cast of characters they should remove the redemption title and replace it with another word, like red dead revengeance. We had Red Dead Revolver, then Red Dead Redemption. For a long time, before RDR2 came out, it was rumoured to be titled Red Dead Revolution... and I didn't think they would plan any game connections. So personally, I would like a new game to be set in 1875, maybe revive the Red Dead Revolution title, or some other. I just want another incredible wild west game like only Rockstar knows how to make.
I kinda wanna either do a red dead with a new already established gang or maybe play as Mac calendar during the years leading up to blackwater and trying to redeem himself and get his brother out of the outlaw life
The issue of a new gang member of the Van Der Linde gang is that I somehow doubt he’d have the same impact as John and Arthur, and it wouldn’t make sense for yet another important member to go unmentioned if he is slated to have a major impact. With Arthur it made complete sense - John himself states that it’s hard for him to talk about him. So if it’s another VDL gang storyline, which I have no reservations about it, I think it’d only make sense for Dutch to be the main character. Only Dutch would start as a genuinely idealistic person who eventually becomes a bad person, the exact opposite of John’s journey and to a lesser extent Arthur as his personality is determined by your choices. Dutch is already a very well written character, but there is one issue with the possibility of him becoming a protagonist, and that is the question of whether we could fully sympathise with him, considering his actions.
I don’t want another game tied to the first two. It should be a new character set in a different area. Doesn’t have have to be a Redemption game. I want a red dead game set in the golden age of the west.
Short answer, yes! Let’s go to Blackwater and a few surrounding areas to tell the story of Dutch and Josea with the missions being focused on the events that connected the other members with the gang. Redemption story for Dutch being what prompted his rivalry with the O’Driscolls and what happened with his first chic. Can also go to places like Ohio and Chicago for new scenery in the flashback scenes. Then the other side of the story, connecting the two would be when he met Sadie and that experience. Transitioning into the epilogue that has key missions that are focused on Sadie’s evolution during RDR2. (Excuse to revisit the old map). Then also have her redemption arc being to take care of those people that changed her life. I actually don’t recall if that has already happened in the RDR 2, but that would def work here. IMO
We don’t need to see any more of Dutch or the rest of the Van Der Linde gang. The American frontier was a big, big place, and Dutch’s merry band of bandits were not the only ones getting up to no good. I’d love a game focusing on Native Americans in that era. A tribe similar to Rains Fall and Eagle Flies, fighting back against their displacement. That was my favorite aspect of RDR2 and there’s no limit to the story that could be told there.
Sadie being a main protagonists would make no sense she didnt show up till the last game and isn't important to the lore and has terrible development. We need Lyle morgan then dutch in the epilouge
The final part of Red Dead Redemption is set in 1914, only 6 years before the start of prohibition. Rockstar could have Jack Marston transition from the Wild West to the Gangster era.
Not necessarily, what we need is Rockstar to actually start making single player content again rather than all this online garbage. They could do so much with RDR2 in the way of continued story DLC / Xpacs. I'd love to play as Charles and Sadie during the time Arthur was in Guarma. I'd love to see Mexico and what Javier and the other gamg members was up to during the time between Arthurs death and the epilogue. So much story left to tell that could all be RDR2 DLC

Why are you talking as if they can't just make a new map with new characters and a completely different story? US is big, and fictional stuff can be easily created and has no consequences as long as it doesn't contradict itself, it's not as if they're going 1 to 1 with real life. Also Sadie was a housewife and lived a normal life with her husband before she turned into a badass, a story with her wouldn't work like that. Good video otherwise.
West of new Austin being New Mexico, Arizona, California would be perfect for a new map. Maybe including parts of Oregon and North Cal to experience the true Wild West. I’d love to see a new character and maybe theme. For an existing character that’d be fantastic to see would be Arthur’s father or Charles attempting to ride up towards Canada.

I really think the best option would be young Arthur, his sibling and playing as his Father. we know he would be hung at the end of the game, but the epilogue could continue as Arthur being found by Dutch. John arrived in new austin in 1907 but that wasnt the first time he was there the gang came from the west and fled to the east and rdr1 was set in 1911 not that he didnt get there until 1911. He spent time with his family up until edgar ross found him living in the great plains and then had him carry out tasks the that led to the end of all the prominent outlaws in the country.
i had a recent idea for red dead redemption being after world war 1, wherein Jack served and he had grown so close to his comrades theyre essentially like family, so when the war was over and they all returned home they remained friends and by coincidence lived somewhat close together, now in the time of gangsters they would show up and do their thing, causing a need for redemption via killing

I think the series should depart from the Van Der Linde gang. I think it can be about a complete new cast of characters, with some part of the story linking to the Van Der Lindes (similar to how Mafia 2 main character killed the retired Mafia 1 main character in a small mission). Arthur said that his wife and kid were killed in a robbery. I think the new main character can have something to do with that murder/robbery at some point of the story.
Prequel, Hosea. Only way forward…or backwards rather. It’ll be set more up north, Ohio. Hosea feels remorse for his past actions, a man in need of redemption. We’ll see young Arthur, a yet to be corrupted Dutch, they’ll be bank robberies which right now Rockstar is working on making that process fun with who knows what game mechanics in GTA 6. Hosea and Dutch have a history of robbing banks. We’ll have a love interest in Bessie too.
Technically “Red Dead” is the name of the franchise, it doesn’t have to be a “Redemption” just like the GTA games have nothing to do with each other. Could be Red Dead Rebellion, Retribution, Retriever, Revolver, Repeater or whatever really. Personally I think we should go further back in time into the actual “wild west” either to see the formation of the gang or just as someone totally unrelated to them
We don’t need a Red Dead Redemption 3, we just need a new Red Dead. The movies Django Unchained and Geronimo and the shows Hell on Wheels and Warrior come to mind when thinking of a new Red Dead that would be interesting and wouldn’t sour Redemption 1 and 2. There’s so many ideas and opportunities for a great story set between 1870-1910s that can be mined if we just let the Van Der Linde gang rest.
RD3 should have a totally new and different character arc. I think a good idea would be pre-the Civil War, when the wild west was at its wildest. And be from the perspective of maybe a Texas Ranger or lawman who struggling to do the right thing in the Wild West.

We don’t need another red dead redemption. Simply continuing the “Red Dead” ip and not having it be a redemption story is totally possible. A red dead game set post civil war with the political, social, and economic situation at the time would be historic. Maybe you could play as a former soldier, weapons dealer, gang member, politician, police officer etc.
I would love to see another prequel with Lyle Morgan as main character, since we dont know much about him and all we know comes from Arthur child memories, he always talk bad about his father but he still holds a picture and his Hat, that makes me think there is more to the story that just Arthur hate for his father, they could tie him with Hosea and Dutch making them friend or foe, and we could end with Young Arthur in prologue, for me that would be the perfect trilogy for RDR.

I think it should be a brand new protagonist away from the gang. Set out West and Mexico as a lawman or bounty hunter. We could have the choice of playing as honourable or corrupt. Also bring fame back from RDR.
If it has to be about a VDL gang member then a prequel/ adjacent timeline story (to RDR2) about Mac Callander.

Personally for me, I strongly believe Dutch should be the protagonist in RDR3, the first two games revolved around him so it makes sense. It should be set 10 years before RDR2 or maybe in the hayday of the wild west. The map should take place completely west of New Austin. Knowing Rockstar I believe they can still tie a redemption arc to Dutch, maybe he uses his gang members like pawns and grew to appreciate them by the end. Like before Annabelle dies she could tell him to look after Arthur and John. By the end of the game the gang can settle down in New Austin. I really think that redemption series is strongly tied to Dutch and the Van Der Linde gang. What I am saying is if we get a red dead game with a completely new cast of characters they should remove the redemption title and replace it with another word, like red dead revengeance. We had Red Dead Revolver, then Red Dead Redemption. For a long time, before RDR2 came out, it was rumoured to be titled Red Dead Revolution... and I didn't think they would plan any game connections.
So personally, I would like a new game to be set in 1875, maybe revive the Red Dead Revolution title, or some other. I just want another incredible wild west game like only Rockstar knows how to make.
I kinda wanna either do a red dead with a new already established gang or maybe play as Mac calendar during the years leading up to blackwater and trying to redeem himself and get his brother out of the outlaw life
The issue of a new gang member of the Van Der Linde gang is that I somehow doubt he’d have the same impact as John and Arthur, and it wouldn’t make sense for yet another important member to go unmentioned if he is slated to have a major impact. With Arthur it made complete sense - John himself states that it’s hard for him to talk about him. So if it’s another VDL gang storyline, which I have no reservations about it, I think it’d only make sense for Dutch to be the main character. Only Dutch would start as a genuinely idealistic person who eventually becomes a bad person, the exact opposite of John’s journey and to a lesser extent Arthur as his personality is determined by your choices. Dutch is already a very well written character, but there is one issue with the possibility of him becoming a protagonist, and that is the question of whether we could fully sympathise with him, considering his actions.

Short answer, yes! Let’s go to Blackwater and a few surrounding areas to tell the story of Dutch and Josea with the missions being focused on the events that connected the other members with the gang. Redemption story for Dutch being what prompted his rivalry with the O’Driscolls and what happened with his first chic. Can also go to places like Ohio and Chicago for new scenery in the flashback scenes.
Then the other side of the story, connecting the two would be when he met Sadie and that experience. Transitioning into the epilogue that has key missions that are focused on Sadie’s evolution during RDR2. (Excuse to revisit the old map).
Then also have her redemption arc being to take care of those people that changed her life. I actually don’t recall if that has already happened in the RDR 2, but that would def work here. IMO
We don’t need to see any more of Dutch or the rest of the Van Der Linde gang. The American frontier was a big, big place, and Dutch’s merry band of bandits were not the only ones getting up to no good.
I’d love a game focusing on Native Americans in that era. A tribe similar to Rains Fall and Eagle Flies, fighting back against their displacement. That was my favorite aspect of RDR2 and there’s no limit to the story that could be told there.
Sadie being a main protagonists would make no sense she didnt show up till the last game and isn't important to the lore and has terrible development. We need Lyle morgan then dutch in the epilouge
The final part of Red Dead Redemption is set in 1914, only 6 years before the start of prohibition. Rockstar could have Jack Marston transition from the Wild West to the Gangster era.
Not necessarily, what we need is Rockstar to actually start making single player content again rather than all this online garbage. They could do so much with RDR2 in the way of continued story DLC / Xpacs. I'd love to play as Charles and Sadie during the time Arthur was in Guarma. I'd love to see Mexico and what Javier and the other gamg members was up to during the time between Arthurs death and the epilogue. So much story left to tell that could all be RDR2 DLC

US is big, and fictional stuff can be easily created and has no consequences as long as it doesn't contradict itself, it's not as if they're going 1 to 1 with real life. Sadie would be just as pointless as Jack, Unless its after the epilogue. I really think the best option would be young Arthur, his sibling and playing as his Father. we know he would be hung at the end of the game, but the epilogue could continue as Arthur being found by Dutch. Maybe his father does something to save arthur without him knowing and that leads to him getting caught, In the end redeeming himself, but Arthur still hating him
John arrived in new austin in 1907 but that wasnt the first time he was there the gang came from the west and fled to the east and rdr1 was set in 1911 not that he didnt get there until 1911. He spent time with his family up until edgar ross found him living in the great plains and then had him carry out tasks the that led to the end of all the prominent outlaws in the country.

i had a recent idea for red dead redemption being after world war 1, wherein Jack served and he had grown so close to his comrades theyre essentially like family, so when the war was over and they all returned home they remained friends and by coincidence lived somewhat close together, now in the time of gangsters they would show up and do their thing, causing a need for redemption via killing

I think the series should depart from the Van Der Linde gang. I think it can be about a complete new cast of characters, with some part of the story linking to the Van Der Lindes (similar to how Mafia 2 main character killed the retired Mafia 1 main character in a small mission).
Arthur said that his wife and kid were killed in a robbery. I think the new main character can have something to do with that murder/robbery at some point of the story.
Prequel, Hosea. Only way forward…or backwards rather. It’ll be set more up north, Ohio. Hosea feels remorse for his past actions, a man in need of redemption. We’ll see young Arthur, a yet to be corrupted Dutch, they’ll be bank robberies which right now Rockstar is working on making that process fun with who knows what game mechanics in GTA 6. Hosea and Dutch have a history of robbing banks. We’ll have a love interest in Bessie too.
Technically “Red Dead” is the name of the franchise, it doesn’t have to be a “Redemption” just like the GTA games have nothing to do with each other. Could be Red Dead Rebellion, Retribution, Retriever, Revolver, Repeater or whatever really. Personally I think we should go further back in time into the actual “wild west” either to see the formation of the gang or just as someone totally unrelated to them
We don’t need a Red Dead Redemption 3, we just need a new Red Dead. The movies Django Unchained and Geronimo and the shows Hell on Wheels and Warrior come to mind when thinking of a new Red Dead that would be interesting and wouldn’t sour Redemption 1 and 2. There’s so many ideas and opportunities for a great story set between 1870-1910s that can be mined if we just let the Van Der Linde gang rest.
RD3 should have a totally new and different character arc. I think a good idea would be pre-the Civil War, when the wild west was at its wildest. And be from the perspective of maybe a Texas Ranger or lawman who struggling to do the right thing in the Wild West.
