I just knew there was a cheaper way than getting a SDI output card then converting from SDI. I spent my afternoon trying to figure a work around with ProPresenter. Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this video. As soon as watched you start to pull up the colors it clicked. LOL
Thank you David !! Was able to reproduce it thanks to you. Works perfectly with our Decklink 8k that officially doesn't support Key/Fill for some obscure reasons.
With Pro Presenter utilised like this you can also use the same machine and software, open up the audio channel for either 7 or 8, and play sound effects whenever you trigger your lower thirds (like a 'whoosh!' sound when the motion graphics is triggered) ... or just play plain BGM with the same machine and software into program out. It's really that simple.

As I said over in my Official ProPresenter Users' Group, it's possible to turn off house of worship integrations (when you first install it, it asks you or you can do it in ProPrsenter preferences) and so Pro7 becomes just a VERY powerful presentation software. SOOO much better than PowerPoint. There's no contest.

You actually don't need to use a 3rd hdmi input on your switcher .... Videos can go out your key HDMI channel. As long as your not keying out info from your alpha channel, your key channel it will play like a normal video signal.
I learned the science of key:fill and knew the features available in PP. Oddly, every live producers/switching engineer I spoke with said it could only be done with SDI, but I knew that couldn’t be the case. Hope it helps your productions!
Dose the free version of ProPresenter 7 do this? I am looking at ProPresenter 7 or H2R Graphica both seem very good. I would like to do Alpha keying for FCP anamated overlays. Can you feed out two videos running at the same time into ATEM super sourse from ProPresenter 7? in place of using other devices?.
Very helpful video. I noticed that when I do this and turn on my down screen key, the program view shifts over to the right a tad on my ATEM software. There is a weird bar with the background stretching from the bottom of the screen to the top. Any idea on the cause of this? It can be pretty distracting.

Belkin isn't required, but imo, if your not using a decklink, the belkin is the most reliable alternative

PP7 puts a watermark on your output if a lisence isn’t purchased. But it’s worth every penny
Is PP7 a subscription or one time fee?
One time to buy, but updates are yearly subscription based and highly recommended as OS,s are constantly changing things.
when I 'alpha out' the 2nd hdmi feed, it's all white. how can I get it to 'key'?
You never use hdmi2 … it stays white if a slide is solid. Only if the graphic or video has transparent attributes will it cancel it out

Hm. Doesn’t happen to me. Check scaling and crop on both PP7 and atem settings. I’ve never had your issue
@@galliganmedia I moved the key and feel to a different channel, and things work fine now. No idea what happened.
