Have you ever made a simple wiring diagram between all the components, camera inputs, and the PCs? It would be cool to see the connectivity in a diagram. Thanks
9:29 We had the same problem. The reason this happens is because Input 1 - 2 support a YUV colour signal only. While inputs 3 - 8 support both YUV and RGB.
Absolutely love the setup! We have something similar at my church, but no cable management and it's just messy overall. Very inspirational to start fixing it up and getting it all set up even better!
Nice Video! Where do you connect the decklink duo? Did you connect that to one of the port in the atem mini? Or it runs all the way to the congregation screen?
We are getting ready to setup our live stream similar to this. Thank you for sharing, I feel much better about the choices I've made in gear and software!
@@WorshipLeaderHangout I am still very clear on how you sending the image to the LIVE audience. If you only have 2 HDMI out, OUTPUT 1 goes to the Church main screen, and output 2 goes to the multiview. How are you managing to send the LIVE?
Gone down this route myself, however ended up back at OBS. We have an ATEM Mini Pro we used to use for switching, however it liked to lock-up mid stream and often needed reset. Came from the WebPresenter which had caching issues that everyone is familiar with. Kinda fed up with the "more professional" solutions, which are still just consumer versions of the true professional switchers.
You probably know already or someone already told ya in the chat below, I didn't feel like scrolling the whole chat to find out, but channel 1 and 2 are for a computer input for streaming only. You use em for cameras but you'll get that wired green/pinkish look.
I use Vmix instead of ProPresenter at my church, but do it different. I use a StreamDeck to control both my Vmix and use Companion buttons to control the Atem. The Atem serves as my camera Switcher, and comes in to my MB PRO via usb c out from the Atem. That gives me my cam feed from the Atem, and then MultiCast from Vmix using it as my graphics generator too (Need a beefy laptop for that). My Multiview out from the Atem feeds a 27" monitor in the control room. We have an old analog board, so I had to use RCA to 1/8th inch cable direct to the Atem. We want to get a Midas M32 digital mixer at some point and things will change, but it works amazing for now, and I have more versatility on graphics than ProPresenter...except...it only goes out to the livestream. We have an old school projector setup fed by Open LP (Free) to feed the screen with a separate operator, and I HDMI split that feed into my Atem so I can have it as a source for the livestream if I need it. It is hodgepodged for sure, but it all works, and I can run multiple cams, audio, and graphics on a shoestring budget. With Vmix I also created virtual camera moves, and rely on camera placement to follow the pastor if he moves from the podium. We also can bring in Zoom callers live if we need to with Vmix as it has Zoom integration now. I also have a DJI RS2 on my main cam on the floor, that can track the pastor, but it adds an extra fail point on battery for the gimbal that is locked to a tripod. We made it all work with just two operators for audio, video, projection, and a 2 cam setup with Panasonic GH Series cams (What we had), all ran back to the Atem via HDMI to fiber cable...then to Vmix, then out to the world with a multicast to Facebook and TH-cam. This way we only pay for Vmix, not Restream as well...
Great explanation. You might consider adding a Stream Deck XL and pair that with Companion. You will find it's more intuitive - especially with needing to train up an entire team.
I've seen this done different ways, why not Atem Mini to ProPropresenter out, so lower thirds come out with no keying required? I see it can stream and record a compressed quality straight to PC too. I feel that there's pros and cons to both methods at the moment
It'll still look green over SDI because via SDI it'll receive the signal 1080 p 60 sited of 60. I believe you can adjust the frame rate in the software on ATEM
Wow great use of the extreme! It really is very flexible! One thing you mentioned though i would have to politely disagree. You said dumping logic for a board. I would see that as a downgrade unless you are getting a digico or something that supports the same plug in dexterity as a DAW like logic. mixing in a box is like bringing every studio tool to your livestream hard to compete with that. …Just my opinion great video and great use of resources!
At 13:30, what button on your Mini Extreme are you pressing to overlay the assigned Luma Key to your camera send? I'm using the prior Mini Pro ISO model. There is a single KEY ON button, and it seems to be fixed to the Chroma key. It cannot control the Luma Key, even if the Luma Key is the active panel. ALSO, pressing Next Transition: ON AIR (on the ATEM SW Control): it only works if we're NOT sending a Luma key (i.e. if the Luma USKey is assigned to Black for both Fill Source and Key Source. If we combine them (i.e. live camera plus PP7 lyrics) the entire MV screen goes crazy with cartoon colors. So, in a scenario livestreaming from Pro Presenter to RESI (mobile rig from a MacBookPro), via Resi's Software encoder within PP7, we can see camera and lyrics overlaying just fine within PP7's visual output, and mirrored on the ATEM multiview. However, the lyrics overlay does NOT show up on the Program output. Maybe this is a feature where the Extreme solves what the Pro cannot do. Meanwhile, our installed 4k TV Pro setup with hardware RESI encoder, post ATEM, has no such issues.
Great video and explanation! We are looking to do a similar setup for our church with Atem Mini Extreme. The challenge we're facing is, we're trying to use HDMI output 1 to audience screen with program output, HDMI out 2 for multiview and trying to also show what's showing on our livestream in a different room. Any suggestions?
I’d suggest to just spilt the HDMI output 1 since it is the program output which is going to the livestream as well. So just a cheap HDMI splitter should work
Look into the Smart video hub by BlackMagic Design. Hands down best suggestion and best way to do what you wanna do. All inputs in and out to anywhere you want them to go. www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/smartvideohub
This video is great. How do you run your lyrics cable wise into the ATEM Pro? I would love to eliminate an operator from this position to do something else.
As I understand it, Chanel’s 1& 2 on the mini should be used for computers. Sorry can’t give you a link to where I saw this, but I’m sure it’s out there. Have you considered a stream deck with companion software? I use it all the time, really simplifies the operation. Mini is brilliant, but it’s got too many buttons that are too small, and not used most of the time. Another brilliant upgrade to the mini extreme is the mix effect pro app.
Just got one of the ATEM units. Question if Video 1 is going to your Main screen and Video 2 is going to you Multiview, is it that the other screens in the building are not coming from the ATEM but the SDI out on the Pro Presenter unit? I guess the ATEM is focused on the Main screen and streaming?
Thank you! I wanna ask how do you do the second display from the computer into atem? My church loves having videos, and playing games like kaboot on the screens but I don’t like having to switch to mirror display because it messes up propresenter.
We have the ATEM Mini pro. Does pro presenter and the ATEM mini need to be on the same computer in order for the lower thirds to work? Right now in order for the viewers on line to see lyrics or scriptures on the screen I switch to #3 that shows a full screen or lyrics or scriptures but not what is actually going on in the building.
How much ram memory does your mac have ? I’m having issues with Logic Pro where it randomly goes off sync and was wondering if you have came across this issue.
Not a stupid question at all. It’s HDMI in and out only. I wish it were SDI like its bigger brothers. But I understand they wanted to make it more approachable for smaller applications.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout thanks 🙏 for replying. Another question for you: are you streaming from the mini extreme or from Propresenter? Same for saving the streaming, do you record the streaming or save it directly to theini extreme or the computer hosting Propresenter? Thanks

HDMI 2 is set as a Multiview. Our main audience screen is coming from HDMI 1. The stream output is the Ethernet cable. As long as you have your stream key setup properly and internet running to the switcher via Ethernet/network cable you don’t have to worry with using a HDMI port for streaming. Hope that makes sense.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout Hi, Thanks for the reply, yes it makes sense. I always thought that the streaming output was tied to HDMI 1. After I made the comment I spent some time exploring and I discovered by testing that the stream is always the program and the outputs can be selected. I would encourage you to get into a Stream Deck. I have setup one of my XL's to totally control my full setup which allows for input to each channel from either HDMI or SDI and the same for the outputs. The system includes an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, Smart VideoHub 20x20, 2 x Hyperdeck Studio Mini HD, Web Presenter HD, SmartView Duo, Pro Presenter 7, Keynote, Spotify and more. I also have an older system that is an ATEM 2M/E with a 40x40 Router that I can tie into the other system and control from the Stream Decks.
We do chroma now but still don’t do special sermon lower thirds yet. That’s a future thing for us mostly because of needing to put our energy towards other things in this season.
Great setup. I have a question about audio and and the atem. Does anyone know of a way to get audio over Dante into the streaming feed directly? The problem weren’t have at our church is that we run audio over Dante and to get it in the switcher we send it analog into the switcher. The problem is we can’t get the volume out loud enough because we clip the blackmagic gear due to their A/D converters. We want to keep the audio digital the entire way to the stream encoders for preserving full dynamic range that digital gas to offer because when our service hits youtube the audio is quite. I should mention we use pro tools as our online sound mixer.
We use Dante ourselves into logic and then output that to our stream using a Switchcraft SD104QA 4-channel Dante Output Box. But I think your problem is not the black magic converters I think you are not mixing loud enough in pro tools you need to be hitting 0 on your master output just like a commmercial record would. Then when you make the analog conversion it should be line level at 0 as long as you have a limiter set up on your master in pro tools volume and distortion should not be an issue.
I turn off the media for the lower thirds for sling studio too but when I play a video announcements on screen in house it doesn’t show up on the live stream- obviously. What do y’all do when putting videos on the projector in House but want the video to show up on the live stream? Thanks 🙏
-With having the main screen fed from HDMI 1 from the ATEM we can run any video input to the main screen. -I have pro presenter 7 running to Ch. 7 on the ATEM. If I want livestream viewers to see what is on Pro7, I cut to channel 7 on the switcher.
With the deck link…..are you using SDI cables roughytes to front TVs/projector or is it over Ethernet? How would you take the display to lobby or another room from deck link?
SDI or Cat 6 when taking it long a distance. Use an HDMI converter on the receiving end to connect to the tv. We also use a wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver to our stage display (confidence monitor) but expect a tiny bit of latency with wireless.
Question, how would you isolate your audio tech to the separate room? Long USB-C cable and a long 3.5mm cable back to the switcher? Seems odd to me we have no digital audio option with these black magic atem switchers
We just completed our broadcast room project!! I have a couple solutions but the best was to purchase the same mixer as FOH and sending all the lines to the New AV room with a single shielded cat6 cable. Video coming soon
If you would switch to Windows, you could put the decklink in the same box (which is cheaper and gives you better performance) and if you would go with a TV Studio HD, you wouldn't have to convert SDI to HDMI.
@@shynequawilliams2624, ideally, you want one with a graphics card and an available PCIe slot for a Decklink Duo, and that meets the minimum requirements. But with the availability of graphics cards right now, I don't know what you will find.
We're using ProPresenter 7 with two "traditional" outputs, and I just sold a blackmagic decklink duo 2 because we had no use for it, boy do I feel link an idiot.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout yes! Just installed it, this Sunday will be our first time using it. We use Canon G40 but we are looking to upgrade cameras as well.

Thanks for the video. I have Logic Pro and I plug the 3.5mm from MacBook to Atem mini extreme but no sounds coming out from my headphone? Please help. God bless.
nice how you can mix in the DAW for your Livestream. i'm on windows, Reaper and X32. The challenge is getting the audio out from Reaper into the switcher. Apparently I can't use another device to send the audio out. Any ideas there?
This is our newest setup: Church Broadcast Room Overhaul Tour th-cam.com/video/r2C6TEbFPxU/w-d-xo.html FOH PA is completely separate but does provide the channels to the broadcast board.
Wow, we have this exact setup without Logic, does Logic help the sound flow better, we are currently using a X32 for sound and we want to enhance it greatly.
Logic is nice but you might be able to get better sound directly from the X32 if you are using and mixing with the X32 for livestream only. If you are mixing a bus then it’s probably better to use something else
We use an x32 for the live room and logic for our stream mix if you like to take advantage of waves plug ins and use things like SSL Chanel eq compressers etc.. using a DAW is the most cost effective way to get that. X32 is great but simply is unable to do those things that’s the biggest difference.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout im not sure if i do understand the question but i do have a similar setup. Mac mini with a decklink quad 2 as output for lobby tvs and stage tv and also main projectors but the main projector does have a slight lag or delay. So i wanted to use the extreme switcher output 1 to the main projector but the projector does not detect the output switcher but if i connect a TV it does works
That is all though pro presenter but as far as physical connections, we have three SDI cables running from the decklink to each location with an SDI to HDMI converter on the end.
I’m sorry I never answered this. The Key 1 buttons turn Key one on and off. I now use a chroma key on key 1 for lower thirds and this is a great way to turn them on and off without having to program a macro.
Have you guys had any problems with the stream cutting out for cache build up? We went to streaming through propresenter on a computer because we found the smaller one unreliable. We are upgrading to the extreme iso and am wondering if these have similar issues.

-I have pro presenter 7 running to Ch. 7 on the ATEM. If I want livestream viewers to see what is on Pro7, I cut to channel 7 on the switcher.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout thanks. I had been having issues on how to get it to work
YES
If Output 1 is to Projectors
& Output 2 is “Program”
Which output did you use for Multiview? (Output 2?)
Output 1: Projector Output:2 is Multiview our program (what is sent to streaming software) is going out of the network port along with audio.
If you would switch to Windows, you could put the decklink in the same box (which is cheaper and gives you better performance) and if you would go with a TV Studio HD, you wouldn't have to convert SDI to HDMI.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching
Which window computer do you believe work best with propresenter 7?? Trying to go around using a Mac due to limitations
Get it back!!! It’s okay they make more
Have you looked into implementing Companion to run all your macros?
I have not. I’m gonna check it out though
Great setup we are moving away from software encoding to a similar setup with the atem mini extreme. Which cameras are you guys using??
We are still using the Canon XA50. Are you on the ATEM now?
@@WorshipLeaderHangout yes! Just installed it, this Sunday will be our first time using it. We use Canon G40 but we are looking to upgrade cameras as well.
How is the deck link physically connected to the Atem.
SDI out of the deck link then into the black magic sdi to hdmi converter then into the ATEM
Hey Blessings
I’m having problems setting up my sartech with my blackmagic sdi to my computer can you make a tutorial how to do it 😅 or do I have to download anything? Thank you once again 🙌🏼
Yes you have to download the Blackmagic Design Desktop Video app for Mac or Windows.
www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/capture-and-playback
Are you just sending media to your lobby or are you sending video from your switcher?
We are sending media from our switcher to our main screen. We currently don’t have lobby screens displaying media.
Where can you find the Blackmagic Decklink Duo 4 output breakout box and what does it cost?
amzn.to/3nrJvy2
You may be referring to the Decklink Quad 2 that would fit in the same chassis as the Decklink Duo 2.
I need some help do you mind sharing? I have iMac but no way to install deck link. What other capture device do you recommend?
All you need is an USB or USBC port on your iMac to connect it to a PCIe chassis. This is the one we use: amzn.to/3KJaXU7 Sonnet also make a great one.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout God bless you for this resource of information. This really helps. This is what I’m missing in my current setup
I don't know if you've fixed the issue with the colors in Ch1 and Ch2. Have you checked the color mapping from 4:4:4 and 4:4:2?
I have not. I’ll try that today. Thanks
Dude, how the heck did you setup your macro for lower thirds?😭😭 I’m struggling!!
I’m now using the Key 1 buttons to turn on and off my lower thirds but I used this video to learn how to setup macros in general. It just a matter of recording your desired action to each macro button.

Do you do onsite consultation

Thanks for the video. I have Logic Pro and I plug the 3.5mm from MacBook to Atem mini extreme but no sounds coming out from my headphone? Please help. God bless.
Check your audio setting in Logic Pro and make sure it is set to internal speakers. When you plug in an 1/8” jack it should work.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout thank you so much. I have learned so much from your channel.
nice how you can mix in the DAW for your Livestream. i'm on windows, Reaper and X32. The challenge is getting the audio out from Reaper into the switcher. Apparently I can't use another device to send the audio out. Any ideas there?
How do you monitor the audio?
what about P.A. do you use antother mixer or what?
This is our newest setup: Church Broadcast Room Overhaul Tour
th-cam.com/video/r2C6TEbFPxU/w-d-xo.html
FOH PA is completely separate but does provide the channels to the broadcast board.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout.Thanks a lot. The name of the church? To see the result. May you send a link please.
Which housing do you use for the decklink to connect with the imac?
nevermind! just found it
I’m using one that is no longer for sale but I’m recommending the Sonnet Echo Express SE1 amzn.to/3hE8i27 but almost any expansion chassis will work.
For Logic Pro x do u guys use 3rd party plugins or just stuck plugins
All stock but I’ve had a lot of help with it. Sounds amazing. Thanks for watching
Thanks for watching!
We use an x32 for the live room and logic for our stream mix if you like to take advantage of waves plug ins and use things like SSL Chanel eq compressers etc.. using a DAW is the most cost effective way to get that. X32 is great but simply is unable to do those things that’s the biggest difference.
I have tried to connect the projector from the output 1 but is not displaying, any suggestions?
What channel input is your computer going to?
@@WorshipLeaderHangout im not sure if i do understand the question but i do have a similar setup. Mac mini with a decklink quad 2 as output for lobby tvs and stage tv and also main projectors but the main projector does have a slight lag or delay. So i wanted to use the extreme switcher output 1 to the main projector but the projector does not detect the output switcher but if i connect a TV it does works
@@WorshipLeaderHangout i only have three camaras going into the switcher and output to the mac to feed video into propresenter
What does the cable mapping look like from the computer and from the atem?
Im about to do a video about all of that because I’m moving broadcast to its own room.
I’ll come back to this video with a link to the updated one
What exactly do you have connected into the DeckLink?
ProPresenter Audience, ProPresenter Lower-thirds and the Stage display.
That is all though pro presenter but as far as physical connections, we have three SDI cables running from the decklink to each location with an SDI to HDMI converter on the end.
What does the “key” button do on the Atem?
I’m sorry I never answered this. The Key 1 buttons turn Key one on and off. I now use a chroma key on key 1 for lower thirds and this is a great way to turn them on and off without having to program a macro.
Can we get a link to the sdi cable plz thank you 🙏🏼
Yes
I put the link in the description. There are many to choose from on Amazon but I’m using 4 $10 cables and they work great so far.
Thank you you’re so much help 🙌🏼
Is the converter the right one ? Sorry just wanted to make sure
where did you get the housing for the decklink?
Amazon: amzn.to/3nrJvy2
Thanks for watching!
Have you guys had any problems with the stream cutting out for cache build up? We went to streaming through propresenter on a computer because we found the smaller one unreliable. We are upgrading to the extreme iso and am wondering if these have similar issues.
Why don't you use alpha key for you lower third lyrics?
At the time Pro Presenter did not give me the option. (older version of pro7) I'll be switching it over to an alpha probably next week after our recent update. Thanks for watching.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout did you end up trying this? Doing a linear/alpha key with Pro7 and the ATEM? I’m curious about whether this works given that the ATEM is HDMI only.
Hi, thanks for your video interesting setup. Not sure you know this by now, but HDMI input 1 and 2 on atem mini extreme use different color space (Only YUV) that's why you get weird colours when connecting the Wireless video receiver. best is to connect your computer ProPresenter input on HDMI 1 or 2.
here a video that explains it well

making a deep voice with your mouth while moving the lips, does not create any understandable words... why do you of this youtube guys think this kind of "speaking" would be cool? No it is not, be cause no one understands what you are talking about...
by the way, very great rhetoric: "you know", "you know", "you know" and so on.... 🤦
What’s actually making you upset? How can I pray for you?
