I'm sure he means motorcycles, but every time he says moped I can't help picturing the members of Meshuggah cruising down the highway on pastel-colored Piaggio scooters.
Actually we call 50cc bikes "mopeds" in Sweden and Finland. You can ride em at age of 15. I think Jens is talking about very early times here (when he was 14-16y)
It's funny when you listen to Meshuggah and read the lyrics then watch this interview it's like whoa, this dude is way chill. Jens's lungs are made of asbestos.
Omg, this dude has a beautiful face. He looks like a model. He turns into a wicked evil monster when he gets behind the mic. ...Not Anthrax, Joey Belladonna.
He looks so normal when he's not over extending his jaw rolling his eyes back. I wish I could talk to him. This guy interviewing him has no fucking idea what a wasted opportunity this was.
This guy is a musically god of our time, not only got his own unclean vocals signature and rythmic evolution Crazy unclean vocals technics Def one of my fav vocalists
Meshuggah probably has the least amount of interviews considering how well known they are, Fredrik especially. There's only a handful of interviews that you can actually find of him.
Many swedes are bad at speaking english, but most swedes understand english fluently because we study it in school since small age and english is very much alike swedish in how its structured and the grammars, but many swedes don't speak english that often,
Sonic terrorist being questioned. This fucking lad puts a hell of a show. Uttermost respect. Bill Burr was right, these guys certainly give you back the price of your ticket to a live show or the price of a CD.
@Chileandude18 dude this made me laugh so hard, but its so true hahaha its weird to see him so calm when in all the live meshuggah vids hes so damn crazy onstage
@angelaSOAD I think when you live your truth and take care of your mind/body you can retain, at least, the appearance of youth. Sounds weird but I think theres truth to this. He certainly looks great for his age
has anyone heard the hype about this band from the US called "seven"? sound a hell of a lot like meshuggah, but with cleaner vocals and electronics. awesome band. there's a video on my page, but its of a slower song. still cool tho. theres also a seven link in the description. you can google "seven cymatics" to download the album..its leaked EVERYWHERE.
@@Dinosaurs_with_laser_guns Fucking hell you made me think you were some time traveler predicintg the album name 13 years ago then my brain caught up. God I'm stupid.
Jens has earned his stripes... he's gotten to where he is and has earned the right to do whatever he wants on stage... with that being said.. I don't know that he's destroyed his vocal chords over the years and just can't scream like he used to anymore, or if he purposely holds back into a "falsetto" type growl to protect his voice, but he doesn't sound that great live anymore... not like he used to, on the older albums.. sounds more like a teen doing a bad cover of him.. instead of himself
So what would be a better interview, have you ever come to think that he might want to be interviewed like this about simple things. He is a normal person that happends to be in a band. get over it.
@MetallicOpeth Yeah, he just said "umm" a bunch of times instead. Not saying "like" doesn't make you eloquent...he still speaks in fragments and pauses quite a bit. Nice try, though.
@DeEzriel if anyone wants to compare for themselves... listen to the original album version of New Millennium Cyanide Christ and then compare that to how he "growls" it now on their new live DVD... totally night and day... nowhere near the power or clarity... I hope he hasn't totally lost it because I always loved that he DIDN'T sound like every other low power growler out there... I've got hope for the next album...
but it's easy for us to get fluent in the language as long as we get a chance to use it so we get used to how it sounds when we speak it ourselves, but it's really easy for us to understand when someone speaks to us in english.. think it's the same for norwegians, danes and finns to..

Lepiotaphage hilarious 😆
I think if i saw Jens and Fredrik on mint green Vespas they would suddenly seem cool to me
Actually we call 50cc bikes "mopeds" in Sweden and Finland. You can ride em at age of 15. I think Jens is talking about very early times here (when he was 14-16y)
Not mopeds like a vespa but like a Suzuki or Honda, looks like a motocross bike or a light MC.
Scooters are really popular in Sweden.
Look at his neck muscles. You could see it move every time he speaks
Headbanging with the djent face gives you a mad muscular neck
A dude that never ages. A god in the metal industry because of his vocal chords.
Entropy (almost always) wins.
he looks older now.
He's aged now
I'm convinced that Jens is an actual super human.
It's funny when you listen to Meshuggah and read the lyrics then watch this interview it's like whoa, this dude is way chill. Jens's lungs are made of asbestos.
the drummer writes almost all of the lyrics..
yeah Jens and Tomas speak better English than most Americans
your average 3yr old european kid does too
England invented it, New York City perfected it 😂😂😂😎😎😎
@@kevinmora5662yikes
As an American- I can confirm this, 140%.
We already know they're better at math than us, but I just wanted to show that, too. 😂
"Did you ask for it?"
"No, not really. It asked for ME."
Why is he not screaming?
This guy is one of the best metal singer in the world. His voice is just unbelievable in Meshuggah.
Omg, I have never heard his normal voice in my entire life! This is truly a gift. ❤
Jens=vocal God
it would be more weird if he screamed the answers out...
"who gave me?..
my MOOOOM AND DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!"
*full body headbang*
Omg, this dude has a beautiful face. He looks like a model. He turns into a wicked evil monster when he gets behind the mic.

Very nice smile. 😁
Friggin Swedes…the land of supermodels and extreme metal…also, surstomming…

have you seen his young face in the 80s? He's such a pretty boy, you can search it up

This guy is a musically god of our time, not only got his own unclean vocals signature and rythmic evolution

Def one of my fav vocalists
The repeated admission of a deep love for mopeds is the most metal thing I have ever heard in my life.
His lyrics are like poetry, this dude is such an underrated WRITER. The lyrics from Bleed are insane.
i thought haake did most of the lyrics
`
He does write most of the lyrics.
Yeah Tomas writes 99.9% of the lyrics
bangasou12 TRANSLATION: The robot 🤖 does most of the lyrics
Jens has very good english for being Swedish.
Poncho So does Tomas Haake, that dude practically has no accent!
Trey Weddle everyone has an accent
Well it's basically their second official language, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Even his normal face is brutal 🤘🏼
It’s been more than 10 years since Jens made an interview. I wish we see him soon.
They don't seem to really be the interviewing type, meshuggah. Only one who really does interviews is Tomas
He doesn't even have his own Wikipedia page!
Meshuggah probably has the least amount of interviews considering how well known they are, Fredrik especially. There's only a handful of interviews that you can actually find of him.
This has to be the chillest dude in all of metal, most swedish metal guys ive seen have been pretty down to earth but Jens is just the chillest
wow he has such a sweet face and talking voice for someone who crushes on stage...
For a legitimate *Swedish* guy, *Jens* looks like that cool & friendly uncle from *Texas.*
Screw Dovahkiin, Jens has the voice of dragons.
I think this is the first time I see him speak "normally". I guess I've been stucked on his face and speaking on the "Rare Trax" footages :D
What an over might of a beast.. a true artist, what a fucking banger show they deliver.. their echo will hit hell like a brutal land slide..
!! Fight
i love metal boys and this one is smokin hot, in the interview and 2 feet away live in concert ;)
I was waiting for a question, Jens didnt like. Could imagine that guy screaming in your face..
Sounds like a nice bloke
Metal beast singer
What was this other band he was in? cabage patch? I cant tell... But I want to hear..
lol my volume was down so i thought he was speaking Swedish
thank you for this video!!
There is no way Kidman is 44, he looks almost half his age.
I would have asked a completely different set of questions! It's cool to hear his normal voice though!
Many swedes are bad at speaking english, but most swedes understand english fluently because we study it in school since small age and english is very much alike swedish in how its structured and the grammars, but many swedes don't speak english that often,
he's so hot he's sizzling
Dude, why there's not many interviews with Jens Kidman?
Wish i could know
girls and mopeds
story of my life
@Dickorla he was born in 8 June 1966 so yes he's 44, but this interview was taken in 2008 so he was 42 here :)
"Anthrax style" sounds like hank hill when he gets suprised.
Bwahaa
you wouldn't believe how much this guy looks like my gym instructor
jens is a fucking badass and a half... Meshuggah for life
@rololoo I think your right...But I've noticed excessive Gray's in Haake :(
Sonic terrorist being questioned.
This fucking lad puts a hell of a show. Uttermost respect. Bill Burr was right, these guys certainly give you back the price of your ticket to a live show or the price of a CD.
this dude's awesome...
He's so obviously high
@Chileandude18 dude this made me laugh so hard, but its so true hahaha its weird to see him so calm when in all the live meshuggah vids hes so damn crazy onstage
Yeah, because the lead singer of a band as serious and badass as Meshuggah would fucking moon the crowd
Yep, especially Tomas haake's english...I almost have trouble hearing the accent.
@angelaSOAD
I think when you live your truth and take care of your mind/body you can retain, at least, the appearance of youth. Sounds weird but I think theres truth to this. He certainly looks great for his age
I agree
3:55 LMFAO!!
God this interviewer, sounds like hes making it up as he goes along.
3:53 "LA!"
Jens Kidman has a mom and dad?! Lol
goddam adds kill the mood on every video i watch
it is so weird listening to him without screaming. he actually sounds human =D
he was much more sexy when he had loong blond hair!! I knew him briefly back then..He's a very nice guy though!
So you "knew him" eh lmao
Hair or not, he's fine.

Jens Kidman riding a mother fucking moped! I would laugh forever if I saw that...
I was so expecting to get a bike that I was kinda disappointed when I got a guitar instead :-D
@rololoo You said something like "Swedes aren't generally better than any European at English", or something. Or maybe i misquoted...
When he sings, i swear i can hear the devil in there somewhere..... something want's to come out.....
like anthrax? wtf? that was fucking awesome
Jens really reminds me of Jon Nodtveidt from Dissection, from the voice down to being bald lmaoo
wht a way 2 strt interviewing!! lol!! hu gave u d 1st guitar??!!!
@MetallicOpeth ...but I will say this, and I'm sure we can both agree upon it, he speaks better than most * bilingual* people.
1:31 - ask Jens if he can play Bleed on guitar.
@MikeAsHimself No. Meshuggah is a band lead by best friends, they cannot kick themselves out.
@nekros729 i just watched the meshuggah short movie and they are all loose but still when they are serious they are intimating
The other members of meshuggah don't even sound swedish, they're english is so good.
yeah sweds and fins pull off american and english accents really well

can't, I mean lol I was trashed when I wrote that first comment.
