Loved the video sir. Yes, I do think that collectors of histories of slavery would be the greater market but don't discount Mississippiana collectors they do happen to be in New York sometimes It's a nice piece to the right person. or institution for sure.
Good catch. I'd probably do about the same, recognizing such an early edition of Mississippi laws, had to be very rare, and purchasing it at the right price. It's extra rare, because at that time, the State wasn't that populated, comparably. That's also why for example early Georgia state documents are rare. The state wasn't populated, and few could read, so while an original 13 colony, not much documentation including ephemera survives.
Excellent video as usual, Adam. Try not to look at the youtube analytics, if you can avoid it. They will drive you crazy and second guess yourself when you really should just do videos as you want to do them!
Your argument is very similar to what we use in the ancient numismatic markets (ancient coins). Just because it is "rare" doesn't mean it is valuable. The value is determined by the buyer or group of buyers. The hard part is determining who those buyers are and how to market (at the lowest cost) to those buyers.
I cant believe you are a real person. I was convinced that you were just an actor from pawn stars. You act like a fake person. The way you talk is so funny lmao.
As a Mississippian (born and raised) and a budding book collector/dealer this was fantastic - thanks, Adam! See you in NYC!
I'm happy to see that you'te putting up videos again

Or, to create interest to new buyers! We are in an era where information is enlightening beyond the "typical" audience.
How do you become a book seller? You're very passionate it seems.
Very interesting video Adam. So, what is the price you would want for this volume? $8K, given the other book recently sold for $6K? Or more?
