This is so inspiring. I'm 22 and just dropped out of college as I felt it wasn't getting me anywhere. My true passion is art and books! I've been interested in vintage book reselling for a while and recently started selling. This makes me want to take it even more seriously!
I would do it as a hobby or side hustle. I’ve been a rare book and vinyl record seller for about 7 years and let me tell you, books move SLOW. The turn around time is really long for a lot of books. You have to have a lot of capital reserved. The records move way faster. People who read these days, and let alone collect books, is sort of a niche market.
@@DPhoenixPoet it definitely is alive but compared to rare vinyl it’s not on the same level. Those things sell themselves. The book market has been picking up though the last couple years, especially fine binding/limited edition/antiquarian. The younger generation is getting into books now after a bit of a lull
Wonderful video.... just listening to you chat about books. Any chance of doing some longer videos?? Your knowledge is amazing, greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
Hi! I need help identifying a very old book and I feel you’re the perfect person for this. I can’t find anything about it online and I just found it stashed in the cellar of my house (for reference, my house was built in 1840 and has never been fully renovated.) the book is called king mandarins challenge by May Wynne in London of Stanley Paul & co. Ltd. I would guess it’s from around 1915 because the name inside is my great great grandmothers and she lived in the house around that time.
I buy rare books for my personal collection. Once I bought an 1850's Charles Dickens. Ugh what a mistake! Someone went in and cut all of the pictures out!
I have old Persian book it's 335 hundred year old on Islamic spiritualism how I can sale it in 2017 1 Turkish person ask me 1.5 hundred thousand euros for this book I can't sale that book but now I want to sale it kindly guide me how I sale this book😮

One thing I know is that if you have a passion for something that you love doing then do it and don’t let anyone tell you any different
