I saw this back in 68'... when I was just 10 years old... wonderful tv shows & episodes like these made a difference with me, growing up in NYC. Today's contemporary programs leave much to be desired.
I never saw abc network in my home as a child .... didn't happen for me until 1973... small town... ... . . no access .. Thank You Very Much For This ... !!😀😃🙂👍👍
Great series. I remember it from when I was a kid. My only criticism is the opening titles and the music. It made New York City seem like such a crime-ridden undesirable place.
I totally agree.Looking at it is like going through a time warp, going back in time.Eight million stories,in the Naked City.(Some ice cold and some without pity). -
I hope this series got an Emmy, because it is about 5 times better than any other police drama.

This is a brilliant show. They need to show all of the episodes!
I haven’t seen NYPD in over 55 years it’s good to see old police dramas .
Loved this show! Loved Robert Hooks in this show!!
I viewed this episode when it was first broadcast on January 30,1968,in Worcester,Mass. I was 17 years old. Liked the Ads from 50 years ago.
That is the Golden Days of TV.

In the 1960s it was I know I lived there for 59 years.
Celeb voiceovers...Van Johnson for Ocean Spray and Lloyd Bridges for Vitalis.
You see Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith Show. Why won't they show any of the old episodes of N.Y.P.D. series?
Wow! One of the most savage and believable ass whippin's in TV history. Then the kick to finish it. That was intense.
Monday nights on ABC High School Days!
Always liked it.

Originally telecast on January 30, 1968.
the Brother super kicked Robert Hooks on 15:13. he must have learned this from seeing Kato from the Green Hornet.
Pffft... it was leveraged; he used that banister pole
Man, did you see that kick? Classic...👍
I remember this . I was 13. Those days
This was not on the channels in my area. First time watching this and I am enjoying it
2:23 We all have teachers we admire but you cant go against policy of police procedures

21:49 What kind of device was that box he stepped into?
A great show. Raw and gritty. The cop shows by Wolf look phony and Hollywoodized by comparison.
27:45- Next week: "Cry Brute", with Roy Scheider.
Featuring Tony LoBianco. PS You could see the formation of the "Trouble Man" character here.
I was 6 y.o. I recall the opening (graphics, video, audio), not so much the episodes
Ha! Fifty years later...2017 same old story; one Black person telling another Black person that you aren't REALLY Black (you ain't keepin' it real!)
Because you've got to keep things going right.None of this playing along with the man.
Please upload The NYPD Episode titled the screaming woman. and fastdown. First Episode. Please think about that.
3:40 NYPD OPENING THEME
I never heard fo Vote toothpaste. Was it marketed in Canada?

Julius Harris with hair playing a teacher completely against type when he usually played tall, bald badass criminals in expensive suits x

I saw Naked City. I thought it was a bit depressing.
@@johndrake2729 Yes there are 8 million cops in the Naked City NYPD is better
I think they were both equally great.
