Those pink flowers you thought were lilies appears to be "Madagascar Periwinkle". If someone looks at the maps in AOT, you will notice that it's the real world upside down. Meaning that Paradis Island is 'Madagascar'. So it would make sense to find the "Madagascar Periwinkle" there. And in the language of flowers, periwinkles carry the symbolic meaning of faith, trust, and everlasting love. In Christianity, the Periwinkle flower represents chastity and purity. Yes, on the map, it should be like Madagascar on Earth, but the area of Madagascar is 586,884 km², while the combined area of the territories within the Walls Sheena, Rose, Maria is over 700,000 km². And this doesn't even account for the extensive territories extending to the sea surrounding the island, as the Paradis residents cannot see or reach it. 37:30 One thing I wanted to add is that at that moment when Berutoto responds to Armin's provocation, it's the first time we see the expression "spawn of the devil" (at least in the sub) which is the way the people outside the walls refer to the people of Paradis
An addendum; Touching back to 29:50 when it cuts to Erwin, foreshadows that it’s not Mikasa who cuts Eren free but Erwin. Armin creates the opening for Erwin to hit Burrito when he breaks and hints to Marley. A way to keep us ensnared in the action now and not think about the why and where they came from
I think Bertholdt didn't transform into the Colossal Titan during that time was because it requires at least a day for it to be used again since he just became one earlier that day.
On the upside, lots of Reiner and Annie, which are my favorite characters. So, dance, monkey, dance! I love these videos. Waiting for the next one feels like watching a glacier move. =D But that’s just real life, as per usual.
26:18 this line I interpreted COMPLETELY differently. The lines before it are: "I can't do that (give Eren back). Someone has to do this. Someone has to be willing to stain their hands with blood." What he means is someone has to stain their hands with blood to capture the founder or else the killing with keep going on. Meaning him and Reiner. There's no fucking chance in hell he's taunting Mikasa there.
Erwin telling the soldiers to keep advancing after having his arm bit off gives me chills to this day Both the dub and the sub are great in this scene but I feel like the dub slightly edges it out bc it’s my native language. It just holds so much emotion.
It never fails to make me laugh. It was sooo unexpected, and so very much Erwin. If you didn’t really think he was 100 % serious about everything he’s ever said - now you KNOW.
Native language hardly means anything, honestly. Sub is always better, it's just objectively true. Can't say I've ever had a dub sound more impressive ever, likely because the Japanese VA get paid right.
@abraxsp5837 I have to disagree. For alot of people sub is too fast paced so they don't get to feel all the emotions as well compared to dub. Concerning the 5 being around Berthold hidden in Reiner's hands, they all have their distinct personnality showing up, but they are also symbolizing the 5 stages of grief : - Sasha is the denial; - Mikasa is the anger; - Jean is the bargaining; - Conny is the depression; - Armin is the acceptance. This moment is really symbolic and bring even more feelings into the scene

An interesting fact, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
It’s so unfortunate that we didn’t get a chance to fully explore Bertholdt in season 4 like we did the other Warriors. He gave us the first glance of how the Warriors were actually suffering inside. Thanks for pointing that out. Remarkable video as always👏🏾🙌🏾
I also like how you can see Bertholths "We've commited terrible sins, we deserve to die" can also be seen as the eldians on Marley who have to atone For the sins of their ancestors.
One thing to note about Burrito, he likely can't transform and fight alongside Reiner even if he wanted to. Although it's never directly stated, we can infer titans can transform a number of times equivalent to their power, roughly. The cart titan is weak so it can basically transform an infinite number of times. The warhammer is extremely powerful so it can transform only once. The attack titan is somewhere in the middle so it can transform 3 times. Burrito already half transformed today, so he probably can't manage much. He is just as helpless as the scouts are.
Talking about armin revealing that they know about Annie. Reminded me of pixis saying “in order to tell a convincing lie you have to sprinkle in a little bit of the truth”
I love when Mikasa says "I can only afford to care about a select few people" and compare that to the end of the show where she's going after Eren, the man she cares most about, to save the world.
there are a lot of amazing scenes in this episode but when Historia said to Ymir ''you know, it's strange, when i am with you i feel like i'm no longer afraid'' as the music kicks in and she jumps off to kill a titan, i legit began crying
Oh man I actually teared up several times during this video. This stuff is so great and so beautiful. I can't do English well enough to express it. The best series on youtube about the best anime.
These videos are so good! It's the kind of depth I'd like to have in a conversation about Attack on Titan. It's also makeing me enjoy the show even more! I can't wait for sesson 3
27:07 The way you described it took me back to Revelation 6:8 “So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him.”
Erwin on the horse with the eyes looks a lot like the napoleon bonaparte horse painting to me ("Napoleon Crosses The Alps"). Also I LOVE these videos! My favourite series on all of youtube
I noticed when Mikasa is peering in at Bertholdt through the gap in Reiner’s fingers her eyes were more of a purple color. With purple eyes being a symbol of the Founding Titan (at least with the Reiss line), I wonder if maybe Mikasa’s eye color here is meant to be an indication of the Ackerman powers working overtime.
I may be getting details mixed up, but why would Mikasa’s eyes reference the Reiss family and/or the Founding Titan? As an Ackerman she has the least connection to the Eldians, royal or not. Unless you’re talking about it being a more of a figurative reference to the Founder Ymir and the parallels between them? I guess that would make more sense lol
12:30 are you sure Bertolt even can transform at this point? His massive titan might just have a bigger downtime than Reiner's and remember they were resting because Reiner couldn't keep his transformation up.
When Ymir says "They are really not that bad", I don't think she is literally answering Historia's question about living among the titans. I think she is saying that you can have somewhat happy life in Marley without reavelaing too much about what exactly is outside the walls. It never even occured to me she would actually answer Historia's question about living among titans, since she already knows that is not their plan, their plan is to go to Marley and have Historia live there.
gosh, i love this series so much. i can’t wait for s3p2 and s4 overanalysing, it’s gonna be WILD. i love overanalysing myself and through ur videos i always find out more stuff than i already knew. for instance, it’s so simple but it never occurred to me that in the scene where armin manipulates berthold its actually also this heavy because they shouldn’t know about annie being a shifter. so simple yet it only just clicked watching this video. thank u for always pointing out stuff like this and making aot even more enjoyable for me
I have something cool that I want to mention for the first half of season 3 In the episode Sin we get a flashback of Kenny talking to either grandpa or great grandpa about Kuchel (Levi's Mom) getting Pregnant and then him essentially asking what could be so great to live in this world for? And right after it immediately cuts to Levi.
29:47 the fact that you used the word "disarm" while talking about that Erwin moment and didn't turn it into a joke about, you know, being dis-ARMed is absolutely criminal. 10/10 video nonetheless (as always)!
As person who can speak japanese thou. I am very much a subbed Erwin enjoyer. "SUSUMEEEE!" which is a word not only to mean "charge", agressively as an army, but also to simply move forward in japanese, to porogress, to your goals, to whatever aspiration. As he says many times, he is replacable, so if he falls behind, he urges everyone to leave him behind for the sake of moving forward, all said in a single word. No need for a "god damn it"
I just want to say that it's possible that Ymir didn't actually know about the hatred toward Eldians as a result of her sheltered upbringing in the cult, so her comment about people not wishing Historia was never born may also have been totally innocent and made in ignorance.
Im doing a rewatch of the show (my 2nd this year lol) and i am just at these episodes - so perfectly synced! I cant wait for us to get the finale so it can influence how you talk about these episodes and i cant believe its finally coming to an end.
Man, I just love it when a new episode of this series comes out!!! Lots of thanks for putting the hard work you do! It really inspires me to keep moving forward in relation to some long-term proyects I have. Because if I keep at it I might just end up seeing all the work a put in show as much as yours is clearly shown here! 😁
I didn't think Arminthought that he has to sacrifice his humanity in this moment. I more thought of it from the other side. In this situation Berthold was the one who had to sacrifice his comrade and crush. But Armin knew that he wouldn't be able to do it. I think he realized simply that not everyone can be like Erwin and is able to just give up everything they hold dear. So he put Berthold in this position, banking on his weakness. He realized that he doesn't have to be the one to sacrifice, because he can but Bert in this impossible situation. Armins true sacrifice comes later in season 3. But with that being said, I found your interpretation very interesting. Maybe it's a mix of both. Loved your video as always, keep up the good work! 😀
Armins change in character more than makes up for what Mikasa lacks for me. She’s a near perfect physical being with a clear goal, so she doesn’t technically need development. Armin on the other hand changes so much during the anime, he starts off as a good person and isn’t confident. Here like you stated he gives up his humanity, soon gains confidence to lead a squad of soldiers, and then gives up his life in the ultimate act of bravery, and is one of the first(the first?) of the squad to kill another person.
I love how I drop everything as soon as I see one of these uploads 'w' Great work! Can't wait for next one *prays for Korotos good health, so there are no delays*
I always thought the flowers symbolised key events, as a sort of marker. It's more noticeable in the anime, but every truly pivotal moment in the story, the flowers can be seen.
Amazing video and great analysis. Btw, I also love Erwin's dub almost everywhere, except the time when they changed "Levi, thank you" to "Thank you, I needed that". I just think by doing that they slightly simplified the meaning of his gratitude. But other than that his dub moments are perfect, especially the curses, lmao
I'm always holding back tears when I rewatch these early scenes, the power of perspective is so powerful I cant beleive AOT didn't win anime of the decade.
Erwin getting his arm bit off and then shouting to the Regiment to keep advancing is top 5 scenes in the show for me. Love the VA and the impact for the actual characters themselves. It’s one of the first times we’ve seen one of the main cast die.
Wow I’ve watched this season a bunch of times trying to catch everything & I’ve NEVER noticed that pure titans see the light of humans souls, I thought they just had regular sight, thank you for that it’s actually deep as fuck
About the flowers seen during Ymir and Historia’s scenes, they appear to be pink Phlox Stansburyi flowers. These represent femininity and unity, which I think ties perfectly into their story. They share such a strong bond, and their pasts have so many parallels each other and the founder, like their souls are united. There is also a Greek myth that Phlox flowers sprouted from the discarded torches of Odysseus and his men as they descended to the underworld. Considering the tragic story of Odysseus (especially his affair with Circe, miraculous survival, and how he leaves Circe to go to the underworld and fulfill his prophecy by returning home (soso many links to Ymir, Historia, and the Founder, I highly suggest reading the whole story!)) Ymir (Odysseus) being able to leave Historia (Circe) even though it meant being killed (fulfilling the prophecy/returning home) is the perfect parallel to the Odyssey. -thank you all for reading! if you look into this, please let me know if you agree! this is a headcanon/solo theory of mine, so if anyone wants to add to it all are welcome!!
Dude what you said a little past the 30 min mark hits so much, I have found myself pausing while hearing certain phrases from season 1 and 2 from different characters and I think is cause I’m learning the aot Japanese therefore I don’t read and just understand which I love tbh🎉
28:21 Wait hang on a sec. If this is true, that calls into question the Ilse’s Notebook episode, right? The Titan didn’t kill Ilse, because it thought she was (false queen) Ymir. Unless titans can differentiate the balls of light…no, even then I doubt it would’ve seen Ymir’s. So. Unless I’m understanding this wrong, titans can only see people as these little light sources, but this Titan seemingly recognised Ilse (they were mistaken of course, but they look similar). Unless they see people and the light, in which case this means nothing XD
Yup, she was such an anomaly that it's really hard to say what she was seeing/thinking, especially considering that even after killing her, she still made a little pseudo-shrine and what not.
That titan was seemingly able to recognize Ilse as looking similar enough to Freckles Ymir. It was trying its hardest to fight against its titan urges to eat her but eventually Ilse freaking out made it too difficult for that titan to overcome its lizard brain's instinctual reflex to eat any human it gets its hands on. It struggled while Ilse was sitting still and talking/yelling at it, but once she started running it was like a predator hunting prey and it's animal brain took over, which it instantly regretted the moment the chase was over.
@rd2680 There's a verse in the Bible that says the meek shall inherit the earth (I've always seen Armin as meek) but there's a psychologist who breaks it down to Those who have swords, and know how to use them, but keep them sheathed shall inherit the earth. And that is so Armin in this moment. He knows it's time to deal fatal blows.
My issue with the idea of everyone dying during the bit you mentioned is that, if the show ended there, everything that had been set up would never get a payoff - we would never learn what titans are or where they come from, what's beyond the walls, what's in Grisha's basement, where Reiner and Bertholt and Annie came from or why they infiltrated the walls, where Ymir came from…It wouldn't just be a bleak ending, it would be an unsatisfying one, not for the deaths of the characters but for all the answers we wouldn't get - and we KNOW the author already had those answers in mind from all the foreshadowing in the first three seasons. That's why I find that rumor a bit hard to believe, not because I don't think the author would kill all the characters but because I don't think he'd leave so many questions unanswered.
10:30 H- what now? 31:54 the struggle of being anime only and people saying the ending and comment replies and even thumbnails... like bruh! 😭 I can never look at theories and ideas without first think "wait, where is the manga at"
That's probably a pretty good interpretation of the line. I'm pretty sure the Japanese word used has a seeing/finding connotation. So like find or see our true selves. Not monsters or heroes but people who are confused and scared and themselves conflicted about what they're doing.
I saw the first thumbnail and got exited then I saw the second one and thought it was a another new episode and peed myself but it turns out he just re-did it

Those pink flowers you thought were lilies appears to be "Madagascar Periwinkle". If someone looks at the maps in AOT, you will notice that it's the real world upside down. It's Madagascar but yet there is no monke native to it, hence why Eren was confused when Ymir asked Reiner about the monke. 🤔

LATVIUKAS BROLIUKAS!! Sveikas, baltijos gyventojau, linkėjimai iš Lietuvos ❤
it’s very slay of u to upload when i needed something to watch while i do my hour long makeup routine
Cannot believe we're almost at season 3, I love this series please keep up the amazing work Kroto!
Woah i love these. I really don't feel satisfied after watching a show, somehow watching other people talking about it really makes my day thx :)
I'm Lithuanian, so I can pretty much understand Latvian and I saw what you did there, Koroto.
I love how I drop everything as soon as I see one of these uploads 'w' Great work! Can't wait for next one *prays for Korotos good health, so there are no delays*
This is the last episode where i thought there was a civilization of smart titans farming humanity. Promised neverland style.
These videos have rekindled my love of the series and have started to be a small highlight in my weeks
I always thought the flowers symbolised key events, as a sort of marker.
It's more noticeable in the anime, but every truly pivotal moment in the story, the flowers can be seen.
Dude these videos are amazing. You have me engaged through the whole video every time. Good work👍.
🙇♂️🙇♂️
Ymir/Historia is the purest love story in AoT. Too bad it's in the series where people brutally die a lot.
Please never stop these there so entertaining an fun to watch :)
30:22. No matter how many times i see this episode I will always, ALWAYS, get goosebumps
Bro you have no idea how much I enjoy these great vid
I love these videos so much, keep it up!
ymir’s line about living with titans was obviously referencing eldians(titans) lol. specifically the scouts
Dude what you said a little past the 30 min mark hits so much, I have found myself pausing while hearing certain phrases from season 1 and 2 from different characters and I think is cause I’m learning the aot Japanese therefore I don’t read and just understand which I love tbh🎉
These videos have been some of my favourite TH-cam videos I've watched
🙇♂️🙇♂️
In my brain, I go: YEAH BABY, ANOTHER GREAT OVERANALYZATION EPISODE IS OUT! every time I see a new one of these videos.
3:30 i was eating, light work no reaction
I always find myself saying ok this channel has talked and analyzed everything in in aot and i am always proven wrong keep up the great work
I saw the original thumbnail, might I just say the new one is a 10000000000% improvement. Chad Erwin is a Chad
Shhhh 😂😂
8 minutes in and there's already been one piece, csm, Homelander, and elden ring editing bits this is crazy
Oh look it's my favorite youtuber when it comes to any of the four main featured concepts: Over, Attack, Titan and Anal.
I can say that the German Erwin also sound absolutely insane
Ymir actually threw harder than the British with their 13-0 colonies lead.
We making it out of shiganshana wit this one.
5:59 lilies are also a symbol for lesbians in japan B) the Japanese word for lily is yuri
Finally, don’t make me wait like that again
👀
In honor of attack on titans final episode coming in Nov
I’m going to rewatch the whole thing
W
28:21 Wait hang on a sec. If this is true, that calls into question the Ilse’s Notebook episode, right?
The Titan didn’t kill Ilse, because it thought she was (false queen) Ymir. Unless titans can differentiate the balls of light…no, even then I doubt it would’ve seen Ymir’s.
So. Unless I’m understanding this wrong, titans can only see people as these little light sources, but this Titan seemingly recognised Ilse (they were mistaken of course, but they look similar).
Unless they see people and the light, in which case this means nothing XD
It was an abnormal so maybe it could see slightly more than other titans
@@AIMalek Yeah, that would be my other theory.
Connies Mother recognized him too. Some titans are just weird like that. It's why they call them abnormals.
God I'm already so excited for the next episode
After reading the manga and watching the anime, these videos are the chef’s kiss
🙇♂️
STILL DROPPING BANGERS
Until the end 🙇♂️
This perspective hold so strong for me because you can see it in the animation in armin's eyes every time he has to put his Humanity aside 34:17
Weaponizing his empathy. 😳
Keep these videos commin... I love em fr fr 👏👏
The way I jump up and click my ankles every time I see one of these videos is crazy. You do these so well 😭😭
Such a brilliant channel I just stumbled upon
10:30 H- what now?
31:54 the struggle of being anime only and people saying the ending and comment replies and even thumbnails... like bruh! 😭 I can never look at theories and ideas without first think "wait, where is the manga at"
Titan: *bites Erwin*
Soldiers: *stunned*
Erwin: DID I FUCKING TELL YOU TO STOP?
10:48 he said burrito
In german Berthold says PLEASE SOMEONE! SEE US AS WE ARE
That's probably a pretty good interpretation of the line. I'm pretty sure the Japanese word used has a seeing/finding connotation. So like find or see our true selves. Not monsters or heroes but people who are confused and scared and themselves conflicted about what they're doing.
I saw the first thumbnail and got exited then I saw the second one and thought it was a another new episode and peed myself but it turns out he just re-did it
I would die if you did ANY analysis on Armin. My boy is so underappreciated 😞
That latvian text at 30:33 hit me like a truck. All I can say is Labas!
