I have heard the Gryphon Essence stereo power amp, albeit fed by their separate two-box preamp, and I honestly felt as you did about the Diablo. The 120 version also sounds superb, albeit not quite so overwhelming.
As the fellow that Pedro mentioned, I can attest that the Diablo is a magnificent Beast.

Since you also have Pass Labs gear, I wonder whether you have any insights as to how the Gryphon Diablo 300 compares to the Pass Labs INT-250?
I have B&W805D3, planning to upgrade the amplifier. I mostly listen to pop music.
Which of the following amplifier would be suggested?
1.) Hegel H390
2.) Gryphon Diablo 120
3.) Soulnote A2
3.) Used Classe CP-500/CP-800 Pre Amplifier + CA-2200 Amplifiers

I heard one of these driving Wilson Sabrina X speakers recently and really loved it. I'm very interested to hear the Diablo 120 as it is more in my price range and better meets my power needs at the moment. Everyone says the 300 is much better, but it's just a little too much amp for me right now.
There are actually people who prefer the Diablo 120. (I love mine)
You can see a review of the 120 in online magazine called " The Audio Beat" where the reviewer (Roy Gregory) compares the 120 to 4 other high end amplifiers. He also mention that he prefer the 120 over the 300.

Had diablo 12o with internal dac. sold it. now i have diablo 300 and believe me, it is much much better. you cant even compare.

Serious question: I’m considering purchasing this amp, and I hear this amp pulls a lot of power from the wall (which is quite possibly one of the reasons why it sounds so good), I don’t have a listening room with a dedicated 20A circuit, will this unit be okay plugged into a normal 15A circuit? Thanks
