Lyrics
Chimes sing Sunday morn'
Today's the day she's sworn
To steal what she never could own
And race from this hole she calls home
Now you're at the wheel
Tell me how, how does it feel?
So good to have equalised
To lift up the lids of your eyes
As the miles they disappear
See land begin to clear
Free from the filth and the scum
This American satellite's won
She'll carry on through it all
She's a waterfall
She'll carry on through it all
She's a waterfall
See the steeple pine
The hills as old as time
Soon to be put to the test
To be whipped by the winds of the west
Stands on shifting sands
The scales held in her hands
The wind it just whips her away
And fills up her brigantine sails
She'll carry on through it all
She's a waterfall
She'll carry on through it all
She's a waterfall - เพลง
My husband favourite band, he died 20 months ago, bringing back so many happy memories when we first meet 💕
Obviously he had good taste and I'm sure that applies to you too.

The harmony of this song is heavenly.
Brown’s Law: At any British music festival, at any one time, there will be a stall/food wagon playing this song with at least one drunk Mancunian wearing a Reni hat dancing around it, one arm raised holding a can of beer.
Roses man. Awesome.
lollll….that's me !
wish it were me
😁
Be good to that man.

The opening chords to this still send shivers up my spine 30 years later.

I was 21 in 1990, and I'm telling you now straight, the 90's was the greatest decade for music ever.

It's timeless

Great Day! I just found them!
I'm listening. Best band since the Beatles. Bought my Russian brother in law a Spike Island t shirt but I don't think my explanation of what it meant quite worked...

I just listened to this album for the first time in 2023 driving across Arizona. I’ll never forget it.
Wish I was driving across Arizona !!!!! But yeah top album it's MINT 👍
Better late than never. You might wanna checkout Charlatans - Some Friendly, The Verve - A Northern Soul
The Stone Roses debut album is a waterfall of sounds and emotions. A cascading torrent of sonic panoramas that just sweeps you along with the force of its intensity. We'll all carry on through it all thanks to the Stone Roses immaculate music.
That hypnotic, circular guitar figure. The pulsing cadence of the drums. That mellifluous, luminous bass line. And of course, Ian Brown's breathy, lyrical, crooning voice. This, my friends, is what's known as the perfect pop song.
Pop? Maybe rock def not pop.
Beautifully and poetically critiqued
guitar in this song is legendary, John Squire you genius
My favourite song of all time. There is something so magical about this song I cant even put it into words.
Ted Lasso and the Stone Roses: pure love, art and good vibes! Forever AFC Richmond 😍
I'm an avid music music lover. I'm 65 years old and I wonder how I never heard of this band until now. PHENOMENAL!!!!
Yep :)
Welcome!
One of the truly great 'Madchester' anthems. My top 3 are this, The Mock Turtles' 'Can You Dig It?' and The Charlatans' 'The Only One'.
Me too!
Oasis uses the same bass line for "probably all in the mind"
Totally agree agree with all comments. I fell in love listening to this track, my beloved has passed away but the song remains so beautiful.
I'm American, but I love English rock such as this. You guys do it better. Still true to this day
Wouldn't really say this is rock
@@hamish8283 pp
Um...no. This isn't even rock.
@johnshaw252 yes it is. It's both Alt Rock and Indie Rock. Indie was huge in the UK in the late 80s and entire 90s.
Cheers mate
Who’s all still listening to this belter in lockdown 2020 🎶🙌❤️
yo you still in april?
We’ll always be listening
人生の行く末をぼんやり考えてしまいそうになる名曲。この映像のサビれ具合がまた良いんだ。
Reni's drumming on this is pure soul. My favourite Roses tune..
Reni's drumming is the Roses . Add his singing and you wonder what Brown was there for .
Reni was at that time the best drummer in the world... the guy was amazing
@@johnhunt5181 Oh bullshit

Still here 2022 and every now and again to remember what great music is
This reminds me of my university years when I just moved to Amsterdam and playing this album on repeat.
Didn't have a clue yet what life would have in store for me.
I long for those days.
Brings back memories for sure... Some good, some not so good... But the music is a trigger for both of a time long gone.
Pure class never beaten
WHAT A MASTERPIECE!! Nobody does it better that these guys. Legendary track on a legendary album.
Cmon, this is basically a Monkees track.
This song was played at my uncles funeral and whenever I listen to it I just cry but it’s okay because I loved him. I fucking hate cancer.
I was lucky enough to see them at The Roadmender in Northampton, England in 1989. They did the first album in order. Tickets were £3.50 each. It's still probably the best gig I've ever been to and I'm 50 now.
I saw the Pixies at the Roadmender in 87! Some great bands played there before they got massive.
I feel privileged to have lived through the madchester era at just the right time in my early 20s.......still listen to this and others of the same era 30 + years later. Great Times.......
Can't believe only tem million viewers the roses are one of best bands ever
Im here and im listening. Stone Roses deserve all love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Reminds us that there were excellent bands in the 80's but also in the 90's! Long live the Stones Roses!
Who else notices their head still moves like a bobblehead doll when they listen to the roses?
I was 14/15 when I heard this on the radio and got their first album. I'm 43 and it seems like yesterday...Happy Mondays, Inspiral carpets, Oasis then much later The Verve. All good groups with great tunes.
Ole's at the wheel 🔥
I just heard this song for the first time....OMG this song is haunting & breathtaking! My new favorite song, I swear...
I'm only 3 and I think the stone roses are good

every time i listen to this album after a while of not hearing it i am blown away like Im listening for the first time again ,still sounds new and vital as ever.
This song will always be legendary, it’s just awesome.
Every time I listen to it, no matter what I'm most impressed by the drums, I don't understand what he's doing or how he's doing it at all
Any Bolton fans listening to this in 2024? 👀

Reni's shuffle is the continuity of life
Love this band - truly love all of their songs! Manchester lass, born and bred - proud of it!
Me in Spain at 72 years old, bring it on😊
Awww sounds of my youth. Never thought I would be the old person who looks back on their time as being the best one but the 90's were awesome.
If you are looking back at the 90's as the time of your youth, you're not old mate! Anyway, age is all in the mind. 👍
Best pub song ever
simpson04 I'd drink to that, m8!
simpson04 Agreed. Always ask for this track, just quality and hard not to like
Evening on the beach for me...

i love u so much guys
im a seventeen years from Cuba who discover you and i have to tell that you are so great!!! The Stone Roses is my favorite band since 2020 and im so proud of it!!!! I love u
Best stone roses song in my opinion
I'm 14 and prefer this music way more than today's
You've got good tastes Libby. I'm 37, but I also preferred older music when I was your age, I'm happy to see it at today's youth as well :)
The Stone Roses. One of the very few bands where the drumer was the most musically gifted.
Scot Scotland but also a complete asshole. Ruined the Amsterdam gig.
Ahem.. Squire??!!!
guitar is also amazing....
@ Scot Scotland
Well, for sure he is class.
Yet: Don't generally underestimate the drummers. Most of the really "good" bands have great drummers - otherwise it don't work. Might be that sometimes you don't dig it immediately why a certain group is sounding that darn great, then turns out its the rhythmic foundation that provides it. Actually: A good band can rather cope with a weak guitar player than a weak drummer, then it's dead.
Il miglior disco di debutto degli ultimi 40 anni. I Roses sono nell'Olimpo delle grandi band britanniche
Classic, timeless, melodic tune… Still have the CD.
Yes still classic better than today's music

what a song
So laid back. Beautiful harmonies - one of the best bands to emerge from the late 20th Century.. Just far out. Well done, Ian, you’ve laid down some smashing tracks.
