You don't know how much I wish we are allowed to buy Chinese EVs in Canada. I am literally so jealous. But the government here basically banned Chinese EV for reasons.... these are soooo nice. I love how ventilatted seats used to be like a 20 000 package option on all cars, until Chinese EV manufacturers just slapped them in seemingly every car. Ughhhhhh
Blame 'Murica for telling everyone china is evil and thus we cannot have better tech and cheaper electronics.. Because they are making better cars than the states etc.
Ventilated seat are extremely common here, mate, even the massage seat, in ALL FOUR SEATS of a car, is not rare at all. Will you be more jealous if I tell you that you can buy a SUV with better build quality and material than a Maybach with 1/3 to 1/4 of Maybach's price? lol
Yeah the anti-EV crowd who conveniently forget the cobalt used to clean sulfur out of their dino juice and have said nothing about it for the past 50+ yrs. So Silicon Leather = Vinyl as us that grew up in the 70/80's would know it as. No Frunk, what was Leapmotor thinking especially with that huge space to put one in. One thing I like with my 2024 Kona is having the Frunk which although isn't huge great for a type-2 cable. The real test is EV route planning with up-to-date charger info and of course charging not peak but the charge curve. Are those buttons on the steering wheel Tesla-like certainly looks like it from what I can tell from the camera. Thanks Gav...always love your reviews.
9:03 right :D New Zealand is the only country without an accent. You speak so clearly in fact, that when I'm listening to a Kiwi, I have to keep replaying what they said in my head, substituting "e" for "i".
Surprisingly good car - great to see V2L at this price point. Hopefully OTA updates will make android/apple car play available, as well as sort out the foibles . Another entertaining and informative review Gav!
Yes, Leapmotor wants sales channels, and Stellantis wants techs.

I quite like that it looks so «normal». I prefer the black interiors because they are easier to maintain. Some Chinese brands offer the high grades only with this not really good looking orange. I also would prefer an option without a sunroof in hot Thailand.
I'd really like to see more decibel readings of driving same speed same road. Maybe your editor is fixing the audio, but this car sounds way quieter than a lot of your reviews.
Any word on whether an 800V upgrade might be in the offing? There's been talk of that here in Australia, for some time next year - would presumably improve charging speed. Might coincide with an upgrade to include apple car play and android auto.
Base model has fabric seats without heating or cooling in Australia, according to the Leapmotor website. Synthetic upholstery is very unpopular in Australia. Can't have heated seats with fabric upholstery cos you'd get electricuted.
I'd love you to do a few reviews of some second hand EV cars, showing what they are like 10 years later etc All new cars are amazing, but most people cannot afford them. Most people have to buy a second hand one with like 50K Kms on them etc. Things like what's the best EV car that held up over those years? A leaf, a Tesla, Golf-e etc.
As with all these BEV's particularly the Chinese models time will tell whether they succeed. Dealer/manufacturer backup, honouring the warranty, parts availability, second-hand value and demand are all yet to be determined. This isn't a knock on EV's, Chinese petrol/hybrid cars are in the same boat.
Hopefully, it is a Leapmotor app and not a rejigged Stellantis one. The apps for Vauxhall and Fiat, and probably other Stellantis Group cars leave a lot to be desired.
Great video, thankyou. Lots of great features, but the styling of this car and so many EV cars now are just utterly boring. They look the same, and not in a good way. No character, no charm. Makes it a tough sell for new brands that we're not familiar with.
This car is full of gimmicks. I can already spot a few concerns. 1. touch screen client controls / poor voice recognition 2. door opening handle 3. no Carplay or Android Auto 4. no mobile phone app Some of these are deal breakers.
It is for those who have been eagerly waiting for this car, also not my cup of tea! I saw a British expat in china showing Chinese cars at china auto show and he was counting all the Chinese brand up to a holy 57 EV brands and that without those EV brand that didn't show up holy shi!

Most Chinese cars are, I believe BYD are the only ones that convert for our market, even UK cars are on the left eventhough they are a right hand drive market like NZ

I'm certain I've seen BYDs on my travels in Canada. When did the government put the brakes on?

Always enjoy your road tests .
Great review Gav, and a car that looks like it deserves to do really well. Cars like this will slowly move doubters into being EV lovers.
I've had my eye on this car and it's on my short list to buy. I think they saved money by not paying a designer much for the exterior appearance!
I think it looks pretty good. Reminds me a bit of the previous Outlander, only nicer.
Touchscreen for Android auto, for music and stuff.
Buttons for heating and really important stuff.
Nice car though. It needs to be £10k cheaper to be the perfect school run vehicle.

I especially liked 16:37 when you said "this is a rear thing" instead of "this is a rare thing".
no accent ? lol,........... the time is tin to siven

Good review. I mostly watch for the ‘Gavinisms’ (“…you can’t really tell what it’s thinking “)
I just bought one three days ago in China! 😂😂😂Wonderful
Enjoy your reviews. Would have thought a comparisons with the Atto would have been more relevant than the several comparisons with tesla Ys
The logo is fantastic ❤
Let's be honest, how many of us re-ran Gav's dance routine?
A fun fact to know the brand more, half of Leapmotor International is owned by Stellantis
Yes, Leapmotor wants sales channels, and Stellantis wants techs.

If we can have Seated Heats, why not Sentilated Veats?
A large stake in Stellantis. Is that meant to a plus or minus? Nice EV and review BTW 👍

Pity about the hard-pushed ad for ChargeNet.

V2L is the cherry on top. 70kWh! It’s basically a mini power plant on wheels.
This is great 😀

Great idea!
I agree- second (or third) owner experience would be great to know.
Gav did a secondhand EV video about a year ago th-cam.com/video/7iehRSfgh_g/w-d-xo.html
An AWD version would have been awesome
The cake orange is a common colour for car interiors in China.
Not really. Beige or whitish colors are more common there.
As with all these BEV's particularly the Chinese models time will tell whether they succeed.

Great car
Stellantis ownership is a negative not a positive!
Hothouse Flowers. Now there's a name I haven't heard for a while.
18:54 Not gonna lie, I almost thought Driving Sports TV was in the room with you.
Hopefully, it is a Leapmotor app and not a rejigged Stellantis one. The apps for Vauxhall and Fiat, and probably other Stellantis Group cars leave a lot to be desired.
Kiwis do have an accent. Fush and Chups anyone?
So you'd say it's worth making a leap of faith on the C10? 🙂
Sorry, it was right there!
Xpeng G6 you don't even pay for colour options in and out
Am I the only one who thinks the range is lousy for the size of battery?
How is that not a BYD Atto 3?
Come on, there is no way, "nice", is a safe option when your partner comes out in their new clothes and asks you what you think...
Royal Oak round about aka hell 😂
How are the New Zealand car dealerships taking this EV invasion? Are they pushing back saying they are only the ones allowed to buy sell EVs?
Great video, thankyou. Lots of great features, but the styling of this car and so many EV cars now are just utterly boring. They look the same, and not in a good way. No character, no charm. Makes it a tough sell for new brands that we're not familiar with.
Looks like an old Suzuki Liana. 420km from 70kWh is poor.
Yes the RWD is good at this pricepoint.
no support android auto or carplay in 2024 and saying they might not even add it is absolutely insane and unacceptable. shoul be standard in cars
Because Android Auto and CarPlay are outdated tech. There's just no point for such backward support.
This car is full of gimmicks. I can already spot a few concerns.
1. touch screen client controls / poor voice recognition

Range isn't good enough.
Stellantis brands are some of the most unreliable.
Its a bland car with fantastic basic features, I think its smaller brother T03(by) would be even better.
If its an emotionless unassuming car then it would be great for plain clothes police dective investigating illegal potato smuggling
Don't be cheap Chinese OEMs you will regret it. Buy a Tesla model Y.
Why?
@johnhornblow4347 Once you own a Tesla you will understand
FYI, a loaded C10 in China costs NZD$37,400. In New Zealand it's $55,000.
You can thank your politician's tariff for that.
Imagine if they sold them at 45k instead of 55k (which isn’t too bad). Are there tariffs here in New Zealand?
Err, there are no tarifs on EV in NZ.
LHS indicators? Eww.
Most Chinese cars are, I believe BYD are the only ones that convert for our market, even UK cars are on the left eventhough they are a right hand drive market like NZ
Lol. I’m still stuffing up my indicating with our Tesla after 17 months of ownership! I’m a slow learner though.
Ridiculously expensive, normal family can not afford
Thats because of taxes, it was supposed to be cheap!
Even a Haval H6 hybrid has a rrp of 47k now times have changed
