That means his Iron Body should be even better than Blueno's Iron Body Strength, and Blueno specialized in Iron Body to a degree since he used it the most out of the Six powers with maybe Shave being the only other one to get as much use. I mean, he didn't cough up blood when he got hit by Jet Bazooka, right?
Drake Shadron, Luffy here was much, much stronger than against Blueno. He did activate Iron Body. In fact, afterwards, Lucci wouldve died of his injuries if he did not receive surgery.

That dude was Clutched in the slowest, most painful way I've ever seen Robin do. He should have died right then and there.

Funimation actually does some pretty good dubbing work; I'm yet to see a dub of theirs that's actually bad. It's just the residual reputation of 4Kids, a company that left the dubbing industry years ago due to how bad it was, giving dubs a bad name. Opponents of the dubs like to keep the fact that 4Kids stopped dubbing ages ago suppressed. Also, holy crap, Colleen just nails this scene. That bloodcurdling roar sends a chill down my spine every time I hear it.

As a Brazilian (and a bit of an English speaker), I give voice actress Colleen Clinkenbeard a standing ovation! Our voice actress for Luffy in Brazil (Carol Valença) did really well at that moment, but the English dubbing in this scene was MASTERFUL!
0:58-1:21 Luffy’s jet gatling and final scream gives me chills. Colleen absolutely killed this scene especially given that she was pregnant when they recorded it from what I saw in other comments if that’s true then that makes this scene and her performance absolutely more legendary

This was the first time ever in Luccis entire life he was afraid. He knocked and beaten luffy countless times. And no matter what he did. Even with his strongest attacks, his assassination skills, his ruthlessness, he couldn't beat luffy. Seeing him not only stay up and stare him down shook him to his own soul that luffy won't ever give up. Thinking in his head how he was even standing. You can see in his eyes that there was no cocky attitude, no disappointment or bored expression. But was paralyzed with fear at the sight of luffy not going down.
Clinkenbeard completely understood the scene. Gear Second is by nature a form that overclocks Luffy's entire body to the point where he's very nearly at death's door. But he can't just fall over yet. If he doesn't end it here, Lucci will kill everyone he cares about. So he gives one last push. His body is run ragged and torn inside and out. He doesn't have enough energy left to even stand. Gear Second and Third took everything out of him and then some. But still, he remembers those four magic words. "I want to live". And so, despite his destroyed, aching, completely sapped body, he puts everything he has left into one final attack. Every punch, fast as sound itself, feels like it takes something out of him. He's so worn down that each punch is probably damaging him back too. But even so, he punches so far, it hits Lucci from all the way across the room. So fast, his arms seem to disappear entirely. And so hard, it finally overwhelms not just Lucci's zoan form, but iron-body itself, and launches him through a solid brick wall. Those screams were so intense, you felt them in your toes, and so emotional, you felt them in your heart and in your eyes. Luffy earned that victory and Clinkenbeard illustrated it perfectly. Bravo.
To think this was Luffy who was suffering intense pain from Lucci’s last attack and who was way past his limit and yet was still able to pull one last attack
You can FEEL the wrath, the frustration, the anger, the desperation and the VENGENCE all for the sake of another person... Gotta say Colleen Smith nailed the scream perfectly.

One of the best moments in anime, IMO. The music is captivating, the stakes are high, and you can hear such emotion in the VA''s voice during "JET GAT-LING!" It sounded like 'this is for Robin!'
One of my favorite moments from one piece so far. the music, combined with all the emotional scenes, ending with Robins cry to live and be saved, and then Luffy just beats the shit out of this horrible person. and the cherry on top is that final scream

I started One Piece in dub, and even tho I watch it much more in sub now I still love this scene in both languages, Luffy's screams and Robin's "I want to live" get me especially in the dub. Also this is my favorite scenes in One Piece.
Working up to here in the manga was a treat, and cemented One Piece as one of my favorite pieces of fiction. Immensely glad to see that the anime both subbed and dub lives up to my expectations!

How do you top Gum Gum storm? Instead of luffy beating him with beautiful music, luffy just beats the ABSOLUTE shit out of them with action music while playing emotional flashbacks to just highlight the value of the scene. Truly genius.

You know the sad part is with today's pacing in one piece. That entire Jet Gatling would have been a half an episode. With half of it being more of the minor flashback they did in this.
This is one of the few times where I actually prefer dub over sub tbh lol. That blood-curdling scream as he sends Lucci through the wall just felt like Luffy unleashing every bit of rage that he'd been storing up ever since Lucci showed up.
People always complain about Colleen’s performance as Luffy, and for the life of me, I cannot see why. She does a FANTASTIC job.

This was the first time ever in Luccis entire life he was afraid.
He knocked and beaten luffy countless times. And no matter what he did. Even with his strongest attacks, his assassination skills, his ruthlessness, he couldn't beat luffy. Seeing him not only stay up and stare him down shook him to his own soul that luffy won't ever give up.
Thinking in his head how he was even standing. You can see in his eyes that there was no cocky attitude, no disappointment or bored expression. But was paralyzed with fear at the sight of luffy not going down.
Imagine hitting a guy with your ultimate killer move that nobody can survive.. three times. And he still thrashes you. I almost feel bad for Lucci.
I am absolutely not a fan of Colleen Clinkenbeard's scatchy voice work most of the time, but I'll gladly admit, that was a pretty awesome scream.
At least you give credit where credit is due.

Clinkenbeard completely understood the scene. Gear Second is by nature a form that overclocks Luffy's entire body to the point where he's very nearly at death's door. But he can't just fall over yet. If he doesn't end it here, Lucci will kill everyone he cares about. So he gives one last push. His body is run ragged and torn inside and out. He doesn't have enough energy left to even stand. Gear Second and Third took everything out of him and then some. But still, he remembers those four magic words. "I want to live". And so, despite his destroyed, aching, completely sapped body, he puts everything he has left into one final attack. Every punch, fast as sound itself, feels like it takes something out of him. He's so worn down that each punch is probably damaging him back too. But even so, he punches so far, it hits Lucci from all the way across the room. So fast, his arms seem to disappear entirely. And so hard, it finally overwhelms not just Lucci's zoan form, but iron-body itself, and launches him through a solid brick wall. Those screams were so intense, you felt them in your toes, and so emotional, you felt them in your heart and in your eyes. Luffy earned that victory and Clinkenbeard illustrated it perfectly.

What basic technical skills of a voice actor does Sean lack? Because...to be in the LOWEST, most garbage tier of voice actors I’d have to think somebody knew next to nothing about being a VA. Stuff like “don’t over emphasize the popping on P’s,” “don’t try to do a voice that strains your vocal chords” etc.
As far as I can tell rn, it really sounds like your problem isn’t with Sean’s skill as a VA, but with his interpretation of Goku, which is itself highly influenced by instruction he gets from the vocal director and sometimes other staff. Do you think Sean just came up with every single decision about how he plays Goku and has total creative control over that?
“One of the worst” is 100% melodramatic, all you’ve really said is that one performance of his is forced and overrated compared to Ocean Goku. I’ve seen bad voice acting. Funimation and 4Kids had some really mid-tier performances, but FAR FAR worse exists out there 😂
One of the best moments in anime, IMO. The music is captivating, the stakes are high, and you can hear such emotion in the VA''s voice during "JET GAT-LING!" It sounded like 'this is for Robin!'

One of my favorite moments from one piece so far. the music, combined with all the emotional scenes, ending with Robins cry to live and be saved, and then Luffy just beats the shit out of this horrible person. and the cherry on top is that final scream

I started One Piece in dub, and even tho I watch it much more in sub now I still love this scene in both languages, Luffy's screams and Robin's "I want to live" get me especially in the dub. Also this is my favorite scenes in One Piece.

How do you top Gum Gum storm? Instead of luffy beating him with beautiful music, luffy just beats the ABSOLUTE shit out of them with action music while playing emotional flashbacks to just highlight the value of the scene. Truly genius.
