  • After leaving Paterson we headed to a town in the Eastern Cape called Addo. It is located just east of the Sundays River. It took us a while to reach Addo because of the road works along the way. We would rather have them fixing the roads, so no complaints from us! It was a busy little place. All the seasonal workers from the surrounding citrus farms had just finished the season and that is why the town was so busy. We passed a place called Addo Wildlife and we decided to stop of to explore. Unfortunately, there was loadshedding so I could only record a bit. We then headed to our accommodation for the evening. Homestead B&B. What a wonderful stay. The next morning, we went back to Addo Wildlife because I wanted to visit the animals they have in the centre. What a fantastic experience. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #addo #easterncape #karoo #sundaysriver #addowildlife.

    Never even knew it existed, except for Sanparks nearby. Thanks for bringing Addo into the public domain.

      It's really tiny, but the area is still very much worth a visit. We appreciate you watching. 😊🚗

    Hi you two! Great video again of your trip. The weather as it was on the first day would have made Wildlife an ideal place for a cuppa. Your stay over B&B cottage was amazing and your aerial video and the music a true work of art! Love that you went back to show us the animals at Wildlife. A pity they have to be caged (but then again imagine stumbling over those crocodiles and snakes on a walk!)
    Keep safe!

      @DustBugsTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, we're always happy to read your comments. 😁 We're also not huge fans of caging any form of wildlife, but then again they're being kept safe and fed and people who otherwise wouldn't, get exposed to them, which is a great thing. Our accommodation was amazing, we had such a relaxing stay there. 🤩🚗

    Thanks for sharing your travels. Homestead was one of the places we were looking to stay in when we visited back in 2019. We eventually stayed at Africanos Country Estate. The place was fantastic and the food was exceptional. If you are in the area again, I would love to see what you think of it.
    I will be making my way through some more of your episodes. Thanks you for taking the time to share your adventures.

    Its 35years since I was in Addo. Its so lovely driving past the citrus orchards when they are flowering. The scent is amazing! Beautiful place you stayed in. Thanks for taking us around the wildlife reserve. No elephants? Addo Elephant park is ridiculously expensive. Puik video, baie dankie.

      You haven't been there in a long time! It would be interesting to know whether you still recognise anything specific, we imagine the area must look quite different now. We really enjoyed our stay on the outskirts of Addo. Be on the lookout for the next episode, we might just show you an elephant or two. 🥰🐘

    Hi there. I am from Cape Town but now living in Wales in the UK. I grew up in Malmesbury and would love if you could some time have a drive through the actual town and streets and explore Malmesbury as I cannot visit because of being in the UK now. I enjoy all your shows and have watched all of it - keep up the good work and thanks!

      Greetings to you in the UK! We visited Malmesbury about nine months ago and included some of the town in our video. We didn't focus as much on the towns back then as we do now, but you're certainly welcome to check out Episode 47. We hope you enjoy, thank you so much for watching! 😁🚗

    So three great storytellers have now stayed at Homestead. "Bed and Breakfast but we were self catering" Hopefully you will also be writing a book one day about all your travels and your memorable sayings. Incredible episode today, those crocs were awesome, great footage, the other animals, birds, snake and reptiles too. Did you put on your best "ozzie" accent to get the Emu to follow you ? 🤔

    • @DustBugsTravel
      @DustBugsTravel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, self-catering is how we roll! 😁 How apt that we had breakfast for dinner at this very place! Glad you enjoyed the wildlife, they really do a magnificent job taking care of these animals and birds and definitely well worth a visit. We might just refrain from writing a book because of our limited vocabularies (it'll mainly consist of wow, stunning and a few others which we love and use so abundantly), so our video's will just have to tell our stories. Just a heads-up, if we ever reconsider, the title will be 'WOW!'. 😉 We just found it fascinating that parts of Jock of the Bushveld were written in that very cottage, both of us loved that book as youngsters. As always, we so appreciate you travelling with us! 😁🚗 Oh, and I couldn't even speak emu if I tried, he is alone and I think always looking for a friend. 😍

    Great episode...always a pleasant option when visiting a wildlife sanctuary. When you go to KZN you must visit the Phezulu Safari Park. There's a display of 4.5m croc that lived to 109 years old

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed this one! Wow, I'd love to see that big croc, I'll certainly make a note of that for when we do get to KZN. I was so wishing one of these two would open their mouths, that's always such a scary sight for me! 🐊🐊 Thank you for watching, as always! 🚗👌🏻

      @@DustBugsTravel you'll impressed when you see how high a crocodile can rise out of the water. I went on a tour at Agatha Crocodile Ranch near Tzaneen, and the tour guided got quite a few crocs to rise out of the water.
