@@JoeyMantiaSkates Hey Joey, any chance i can get a suggestion / recommendation from you on which shoes would be best to wear to perform such high-impact plyos? I posted a similar comment on your latest video (20 min. quad killer routine) hoping to get an answer. In short: i need an all-rounder training shoe to do these plyo workouts as well as the rest of my gym work (bodyweight and lifting and jump rope). I prefer zero drop shoes but that still have a bit of cushioning and stability - i have torn meniscus in both knees, a bad low back and achy hips, but i am fine. Let me know, please. Thanks.
@@nishanthiprasangika3390 It certainly can be, as it'll increase your stamina massively, not to mention that it'll make your legs significantly stronger and able to withstand a higher workload. Do you happen to know what kind of shoes is he wearing for these workouts? I need a pair myself!
Sir, i learned double push from your tutorial video. I practiced double push for hours. Now, there is improvement in my speed. Sir, this will surely help me in nationals. Thanks Sir🎉🎉🎉
As a physiotherapy student I appreciate the long resting periods! So many follow along workout have too short rests and the workout is more of a endurance training rather than max speed and plyo. Also this was really hard!! I think I Will be doing this many times before I can do it completely!
I run mines fast paced and use short rest. I do this to build up stamina and increase VO2 max. We do need endurance and stamina to do most sports, they're not 1 rep max efforts like olympic weightlifting and powerlifting are. I've done weightlifting before as a sport. Need a lot of rest time between sets to push hard on lifts.
Two run throughs of this workout, and muscles in my legs that I didn't even know existed are sore, and my legs feel like jelly. And this is coming from someone who has speed skated 5-6 times a week for the last three years.
Doing this 2x per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays has TOTALLY changed my running game. Also bc of the HGH spike after the plyo workout my arms are getting super toned with no extra lifting!!
Hello, Joey, I am a skater in the Colombian league, the level here is very high when it comes to roller skating. I like your work on off-skating and plyometrics. Could you give me some advice on how to implement it in my training since it surprises me to know that you didn't lift weights in your career and here in Colombia weights are almost mandatory to be a good skater. (My respects and total admiration as an athlete, greetings from Colombia)
This is great video, thank you so much. How many reps of this workout are necessary, how long should be the pause in between? Will combination with dry-land technique workout in same training be good? First explosive plyometrics, than more statical dryland?
We definitely want more of these awesome workouts! I sure do ;-) I need to find ways to get strong and muscular legs without having to hit the weights. Maybe something a little gentler on the knees, even 😀
Really interesting video! I wanted to ask you this circuit how many times a day and how many times a week did you perform it to train your legs in your sport?

Hey Joey. I’m a hockey player. In your opinion is this one time through enough of a leg workout or do 2 rounds? Or 1 round plus other exercises like squats or whatever? Thanks.
Need to know what shoes are those. I believe they are crucial to workouts like this to absorb shocks as much as possible as well as providing a stable base.
As a pro athlete, I would consider this, but as a former amateur, not even close! Lol, great video and effort though if I had no gym available... Blessings.
I'm dying to try this out but i am very, very afraid that it won't do my knees any good (i have torn meniscus in both knees). I wouldn't want to press my luck doing this...
Hello to the best skater in the world I have a question In our previous race, I registered 10.10 in the 100m race And I am going to participate in the next competition, which is in a month I want to register a time of 9.90 How can I strengthen myself and reach this time in one month? ?
This is a great workout, but it is not really “plyometric”. (Nor does it need to be for skating! Skaters don’t need plyometrics.) The word “plyometric” is usually reserved for exercises which challenge muscle-tendon stiffness and RFD (rate of force development). This workout is an elastic conditioning workout (and certainly quite muscularly challenging). Very appropriate for skating, but not the same thing as high-speed running, bounding, or depth jumps. (Another thing is that you really can’t be working on RFD at the same time as trying to do conditioning, as any fatigue will quickly prevent RFD from being challenged.)
I guess your perspective depends on the world you come from. Athletics is notoriously the industry standard for what you're referring to, however the term Plyometric by definition is exercise that uses repetitions of rapid contractions to increase muscle power; reps of of any sort of jump would therefor be a Plyometric. If you add frame of reference it would be a fair argument to say that this workout is not as ideal for running and jumping sports, but for skating where you have a more complicated environment to perform the task coupled with higher levels of hydrogen ions building up in the muscles and the need to train for that tolerance, these jumps can be highly effective for speed skating, both physically and mentally
@@JoeyMantiaSkates I have no doubt that this type of work is highly effective for skating, and also for developing the leg muscles in an athletic and useful manner! Since skating requires so much concentric leg work, obviously your legs need to be much bigger than a runner’s do…
Really interesting video! I wanted to ask you this circuit how many times a day and how many times a week did you perform it to train your legs in your sport?
Comparing this video to the previous one which one should I do to improve my inline speed skating? Which one do you recommend?
This video is more for increasing explosivity and power, the DRYLAND workout is meant to make you more technically savvy
