There's a lot more STX inventory than the rest of the trims in the southeast right now and I think that's because so many buyers can't afford a truck with more options. So basically it's one step up from a basic XL with a few more creature comforts but still extremely stripped down when you think about the price. Same on the chevy side. Lots of "customs" especially custom trail bosses. Step inside though and it's like going back 10 years and then step back outside again and look at the sticker and it's a frustrating head scratcher.
Just bought one last month... Atlas blue STX Super cab with bedliner, 4wd, and the 2.7l engine which is no slouch. Mine was a "courtesy vehicle" and I was able to get it for $42,500 before tax, tags and title. Very pleased with the purchase so far, and getting 21mpg around town!
They nerfed the 24s pretty bad. Up till 23 STX was an appearance package on the XL, but that was too complicated I guess. You can no longer get the 2.7 payload package, which I fail to see how that simplifies the lineup, when all the package adds is the frame, suspension, and 9.75 rear end of the 3.5 equipped trucks. The only thing I can think of is that they force you to pay for the other engine options, which also come with prereq packages now so they make even more money. The thing is, after the 3.5, the 2.7 is the best towing motor in practice. It has way more grunt than the 5.0 (legitimately, look at the stock dyno numbers and torque curves on 5star tuning's website), more coolant capacity than either, a larger oil filter, a much heavier built block, and more oil capacity per displacement. 10,000lbs of towing is also way more than enough for anything someone would actually tow with a half-ton. The 2.7pp also maxed at 2400lbs of payload (2000 with 4x4) on the 23 and the F-150 could go all the way up to 3300lbs. The max for any 24 F-150 is 2400lbs now. These lighter chassis trucks max out at 1700lbs for 2wd, and almost 1500 for 4wd(To correct the numbers that you showed, as the ones you have are for the 2.7 payload package from 18-20 [source Ford towing guides: 2023: www.vdm.ford.com/content/dam/brand_ford/en_us/brand/towing/pdf/2023_Ford%20F-150_Towing%20Info_r2_Jun23.pdf and 2024: www.vdm.ford.com/content/dam/brand_ford/en_us/brand/towing/pdf/2024-Ford-F-150-Towing-Guide.pdf ) . Most Rangers are beating that. It's all very obvious segmentation to force you into an F-250 if you want more payload. To me, this is at the very wrong time, as it comes AFTER the time where they could demand anything and get it. Now stuff is staying on the lot, and the wind of incentives is blowing in. There are a ton of 23s still on the lot, and it's June of 24. An STX 2.7 with payload package is an excellent truck. I had an 18, with a 36 gallon tank and the range was hilarious. Even towing, it didn't stress with a 7,500 lb 30ft rv trailer. I averaged over 11mpg through mountains and cross winds, which is excellent for a giant sail like that. Think diesel, without the stupidly expensive maintenance, and reliability robbing emissions equipment of modern diesels. The 5.0s are a bit thirsty for oil and tow at much higher rpm than the ecoboosts do. Ford knew about the oil consumption as soon as they released the 3rd gen 5.0 in 18, as it's oil capacity went up to 8.8 from 7.5 quarts. "No one will notice".
It’s nice but missing heated seats and steering power seat and rear power window for my dog it’s like a ram classic or Chevy custom but at least you get that in the others with v8 I’m surprised ford did not do that or at least yet but o do like it
Still over priced with the current market conditions. Less than six years ago a 2500 HD Loaded with a Cummins was $51k. I dont see any value in these inflated prices. Baseline truck should start around $34k. Especiall for an ecobomb.
Well guess I got fked.... I just bought a 2020 Gold star 2.7L V6 F150 XLT 4x4 with 19 thousand miles on it.(Ford employee/ show truck) paid 36000 off the lot with extended Gold Star plan out to 6 years or 175000 miles.....?? I thought I got a deal.... She is nice and drive good....
An LFP Sleeper F-150 RCSB 5.0 with the Whipple supercharger is under $50K out the door and will walk any other F-150, except the Raptor-R (which costs $70K more). Just saying.
Some won't be satisfied unless the f150 is given away for free! Even THEN, Someone will find issues. If i hear one more.....well back in 2005 you could get this or you could get that......enough already! One can either afford these trucks or they can't, point blank period! I say all the time, Things NEVER stay the same! I find THESE prices reasonable considering what they where a year ago.
Just bought one 2 days ago!! Bought it brand new for $42,000!! They took off $6000+ off MSRP!! Now I own 2 Ford F150s!!😎💯🔥

You can get the STX "Supercab" with 5.0 liter V8 it's like $1600 more
Agreed it's a nice truck

Screw the EcoBoost. 5.0 or nothing.
I am surprised Ford does not have spray in liners standard.
35k-40k is about what the cost should be.
I just got the 2024 with the 5.0. Traded in my 2016 xlt 2.7 v6.
Why did you switch engines?
YOU CAN GET 5.0L SUPERCAB (KING CAB) IN STX TRIM LEVEL COSTS ABOUT $1500 OR $1800 MORE CAN ALSO GET 3.5L ECOBOOST AS WELL ABOUT $1800 MORE
Yep, I’d go with the 5.0 and the 8ft bed

The 2.7 is the quickest engine 0 - 60!
Bring your 5.0 noisemaker!
Let’s line em up!

50k on a truck is not smart money.
5.0 4x4
I’m with you! I’d like a regular cab long box STX with 5.0 & 4x4.
Some won't be satisfied unless the f150 is given away for free! Even THEN, Someone will find issues. The number of people that can truly afford these prices are dwindling.
Agree, if you can not afford new then buy used, sick of these cry babies
