    Rubicon : Off-road
    Sahara : Luxury

    No mention how the Sahara stock tires are made for the road and offers a smoother and quieter ride than the Rubicon.

    Sahara with a lift kit and thicker tires sounds good to me 👌🏽

    You can turn a Sahara into a rubicon if you like. You can lift it, add larger tires, get after market ox locks, bigger axle and sway bars.
    So you may want to start with a Sahara and see what kind of off roading you actually do.

    Unless you’re a serious off-roader buying a Rubicon is a waste of money. The Sahara is designed to be the luxury version of a Jeep. It’s a family car and fancy grocery getter. The Sport and Sport S versions of Jeep are designed for folks that want a Jeep but can’t afford $50,000 to $80,000 for what essentially is a adult toy.
    Buying a used Jeep is always a financial option too, but that requires a qualified mechanic to give it detailed inspection from bumper to bumper. As automobiles go, Jeeps don’t deprecate nearly as much as a tradition car, especially a luxury brand like BMW, Mercedes, and similar brands.
    Jeeps are definitely fun vehicles, but ,used or not, they are expensive. I’m on my third Jeep.

    I would mention that the sahara has an optional rear limited slip diff which is arguably better than the Rubicon's lockers for winter driving conditions since its active at all times.
    Lockers are better for rock crawling but for everything else the sahara will do better.

  • @desertmaverick7567

    You can probably off road the Sahara? I take offence to that comment. Everything that you are saying that the Rubicon comes with can be upgraded on the Sahara with "much better" after market equipment and for less cost. The Rubi is usually priced about $5000.00 to $7000.00 more than the Sahara. Everyone that buys a Wrangler will add upgrades to it in time as they drive it anyway. I've been a Desert Runner for six years now with my 2015 Sahara in Arizona with no lockers. That's 89 trails and some that might even make a Rubicon cry! I always get a kick out of how the "Rubicon" is gloated over and worshiped by those that are trying to sale a Wrangler. Yes, it's a great jeep but the electronic disconnects and skinny little steel bars that protect the side of it are way over blown. A good set of aftermarket Rock Rails way surpass the effectiveness of the OEMs on the Rubi and who needs electronic disco's when that function can easily be done by hand with a pair of tie wraps while airing down the tires. Those tow hooks are for crap as well because you can't connect D-rings to them. A Rubi owner will trash those for real steel front and rear bumpers that can hold D-rings. Then come the upgrade to the rear tail gate and spare tire holder because everyone that off roads their jeep will get larger and heaver tires and a lift in order to do real rock crawling that a stock jeep can't do. Also just like Sahara owners there will be a wench installed on the front bumper for self recovery if needed. You sales guys are all alike. You just want to talk Rubi because it is the most expensive of the models. That Rubi out of the box is not fully equipped for real off road crawling just like the Sahara until it gets several upgrades and modifications. You're trash talking just to sale a $50,000 Rubi because that's all sales people care about. Erik, do you even own a Jeep? If you do and have the years of experience and skill that I have driving one, then why not just tell the people looking for a Jeep Wrangler the truth?

    • @PEELCHRYSLERJEEPRAM
      @PEELCHRYSLERJEEPRAM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Not everyone wants to go and worry about doing several upgrades and what not. Some customers prefer having a Rubicon and that's up to them on what they want to do with it. We have no desire to trash talk to get people to buy a Rubicon over a Sahara lol. We sell both equally. To answer if Erik owns a Jeep, yes he does. At the end of the day, it's the customers decision on what to pick. We're sure if this video was the other way around about "gloating" the Sahara, there would still be people like you to say something :)... Just enjoy the video and go on about your day Desert Maverick!

    • @nwyetiphotography

      Thanks for your comment. I want a Jeep to be able to take the top off and just cruise on old logging roads. I’ll never rock crawl and don’t have a desire to. It is funny how Rubi lovers trash talk non Rubi owners. Right now I’m driving a ‘06 Nissan Titan SE 4x4 with 12 inches of ground clearance with electronic rear locking hubs and posi traction and a ‘02 Ford F250 SuperDuty 4x2 with limited slip and I have never gotten stuck with either. But they are super long so if you want to turn around on a dead end logging road it’s a bit difficult. Would you recommend the Sport at all? Thanks

    If I’m only planning on primarily going to the beach/dunes/trails and maybe some snow, is the Sahara the best choice? I plan on adding a lift kit and bigger tires, and other upgrades along the way. I don’t plan on rock climbing but can’t decide if a rubicon is necessary for the type of off-roading I like to do.

    • @PEELCHRYSLERJEEPRAM
      @PEELCHRYSLERJEEPRAM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Sahara is perfect for how you are planning to use it! The Rubicon is just for more extreme stuff.

      I haven’t priced it, but modifying any Jeep to add all the stuff necessary to turn it into a Rubicon might be more expensive than just buying a Rubicon……unless you’re a skilled mechanic and can do the modifications yourself. That’s still expensive as well as time consuming.

      @rich7447 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Last month Ford told me that if I ordered a Bronco that day I may get a 2023, but more likely would be looking at a 2024.
      If one came in before that I could get on the list to pay $18,000 over MSRP for the priviledge to buy it. It just reaffirmed my decision to stop buying Fords back in 2000.
