Working for cash is so risky! My son has been doing hair for 20 years and he reports every dime. He owns properties all over the world and has a clean conscience.
I'm on SSA and an Advantage plan. I've heard about Hospitality Indemnity plans and I contacted Aflac, but was advised that their plans are for businesses, not individuals. Is it possible that an individual can get a Hospital Indemnity plans?
Since Reagan SS and Medicare taxes goes in the general funds not earmarked as such. It is used on other stuff and paid back as debt. Reagan grabbed almost 3 trillion SS $ with a promise to pay it back and did not.
I was approved for SSDI after 2nd attempt. 1st try denied back pay from after 1st time judge denied try. Appealed back pay 2nd denied again. said approved on 55 age rule no back. Went to judge. My 1st judge retired however came back during Covid. Ended up going back to same judge. Asked attorney her opinion on what to do since he came back. Said look over suggested leave alone…my question over year later I got paperwork showing me what was on the reports showing why I didn’t get my back pay. There is several things in there showing misleading item’s very important on this case that would have changed out come of case and the attorney should have had paperwork. Is there anything that can be done?
I tried to collect on my ex-husband’s benefits. They said my benefit was too high. How is this makes sense and how do they calculate this? I was married for 25 years. We are four years apart. I’m 66 and he is 70.
That means all of the benefits you can collect on your own record are higher than the half you might be entitled to collect on his record. If you don’t think that is true go back and talk to a higher level employee.
I'm 72 & I have Part G & my supplement is Muctual of Omaha. I have NOT changed this since i have been collecting my s s benifts from age 65. My question is will this cover Ambulatory service, helicopter ambulatory services services .
I called SS Office today I asked to speak to a T2CS The lady that took the call insisted she knew the answer. She said I could not get widow benefits or my daughter survivor benefits because my SSDI was more than his record so I’d just get the bigger of the two which is mine. Is that true? Even for my daughter? It’s like I had a kid with no one?!? In two weeks I’ll be a 50 yr old disabled widow with an 11yrs old. I became permanently disabled in 2012 My husband passed at 42 in 2015. We had a 14 month old at the time. They said she couldn’t get anything from his passing because she was already collecting from me and mine was higher because teachers don’t pay in to SS in TX
I saw where I can’t get 100% of my husbands social security. I am a widow & my husband passed last year. I was 62 at the time. To get 100% I have to be 67. Is this accurate?
I’m 60, I called to claim widows (spousal benefits) and they said can only make 22 thousand something. I make a bit more, but they go by gross pay . Not that much net. I have a mortgage and getting harder with just mine since his passing. It will make me have less if I got it now, correct?
Dr. Ed I live in Pembroke Pines Florida. I received a an annual Noticed changes 2025 on page 10 under changes of the monthly premium it says reductions will be applied to your social security check on your Medicare part B premium bill and on the top of this there is $21 I don’t understand it? I am a widow I am on widows Survivor I have United Healthcare I am 65, does that means that instead of $185 is going to be $164 I work part time.

if you work for an American company abroad, you and your employer are required to pay US Social Security contributions from a percentage of your salary.. even if your not America!
I am going to turn 65 in March 2025. Currently I am on my employers health insurance. The premium( Individual) I would pay is very high when compared to what I might be paying for Medicare advantage plans . My question is can I decline my employers Insurance and opt for Medicare Advantage while still on the pay roll ( not planning to take as benefit ) at this point. Thanks in advance!

You are comparing apples to oranges. You need to compare Comparing the insurance industry to SSI. The insurance has no way the same exposure, so their cost will be higher because they are paying less out.
