- I printed a nylon gear on my Ender 5 pro using a Garolite bed. There was a bit more of lifting of the part on one side but the rest of the part stuck to the bed so well it actually pulled the layers apart on the bottom when I removed it. In the background you can see a second attempt printing using a bit of PVA glue on the Garolite.
I beleive this would have printed very well if I had a bit of an enclosure. Thanks for watching.
So any updates? Will pva glue make the printed parts easier to be removed from the garolite bed?
I’ve switched my big printer over to Garolite and yes PVA works great for PETG and the part releases well. The PVA didn’t work well for nylon on my Ender 5 and I really haven’t tried it again.
@@baird1fa The stock bed on an Ender 5 is very bad, thin stamped out aluminium which isnt anywhere near flat.
I replaced the bed on my 5 Plus to an 8mm thick cast and milled bed and it was like a completely different printer.
Got within 0.12mm across a 370x370 bed.
and did it?
Haha, I guess I never followed up did I? Nope it didn’t stick any better. I think you need an enclosure. I’ve printed a couple things from nylon using a glass sheet but with a heater build chamber.
