Hi Sue, Gorgeous ocean painting, you make it look so easy and free flowing. Like you are standing right there on the beach with the wind blowing. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
Absolutely Beautiful! I love everything about this piece... the real sand, your choice of colors, the white lacing, your fast free flowing design, it’s not an overworked canvas. Thank you for sharing.
So well done. I've been wanting to try this. Thank you. I know you make it look deceptively simple. There is a lot of talent and hard work to try to make it look easy. Thank you again.
Another beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing! I always gain new insights, tips and awesome tricks from your narration. Could you please answer a few questions for me? No hurry, whenever you get a minute or two. 1. You said that the beach was resin mixed with sand and the texture is quite visible even on my little laptop, then you poured out your blues and greens and they too appear quite thick with texture...what form of pigment did you use? Paste? Powder? 2. You kept mentioning white paste as you poured your waves, so does that just mean you used a white pigment in paste form? 3. Do you always use the same brand of resin and pigments, or do you use a variety? 4. What type and/or brand of pigment is your favorite? That's all my questions. Thanks again for sharing your techniques and knowledge! You are awesome!
Thank you 💕 you will find a list of the products used in the description. If you are on a mobile device, click on the little arrow on the right hand side to see the description. I use a mixture of pigments and paste and I use a variety of brands. My selection is based more on the colour than the brand 💕
It's beautiful. You give great instructions. One of thee days I might get into doing something myself but for now, I can appreciate the works very much. Thank you Sue. 💖💖💖
Hello Sue, this video has just explained a major concern i have with making waves. Its by far the easiest i have seen and will write or send you video of my works soon... Thanks
I love this piece! It is wonderful to see you work and make these amazing scenes. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and techniques with us. Your are amazing!!!

Thank you 💕 you need to invest in a respirator with filters for protection against chemical fumes. P2, I think they are called off the top of my head. Please don't resin in the room where you sleep. Ideally, resin in a separate room, or remove the item to another place to cure.
This is so beautiful and inspiring! I haven't graduated to using resin yet but this gives me something to look forward to. :) I notice when I apply the acrylic mix to the canvas it doesn't adhere completely (despite being plenty thick) and I get some little patches of white canvas showing through. Is it best to coat the canvas with something first that the paint can bind with? It is an inexpensive canvas. I appreciate your explanations - a true teacher - thank you!
You said the white is "paste". What is in that paste? I want to make one of these for my sister's birthday and want it to be nice. Yours is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
It is an epoxy paste, you will find links in the description below the video. If on a mobile device, click on the small arrow to the right hand side. 💕
Thank you, I don't use a blow torch. Some people prefer it. A heat gun comes with different heat settings and can blow your resin as well as heat it. A blow torch is good if you want to create cells and lacing, although, you can still achieve them with a heat gun. 💕
Nice tutorial. What is the base material? Is it Plywood/MDF Board/Wood? What is the primary white paint in the base? Is it acrylic? Is it required to put a base color? Thanks.
Thank you, I used MDF panels. The white is an undercoat and sealer. A base colour is not required, however, I like to give the board a base colour. It is down to personal preference. 💕
Beautiful Sue!! We also went to the ocean on vacay so of course I have been wanting to do this and add my little shells in my sand lol which I also took lol. Thanks so much for the vid. It gives me somewhere to go if I get stuck!
White is mixed with the resin to pour it. I don't use silicone oil, I prefer to use turpentine or white spirits. However, I don't need it on these beach scenes. 💕
@@SueFindlay Thank you for your interest. I can't make foam and cells. I can't find what to do for the big foam and wave effect. I mixed it with white epoxy, but when I hold the heat cartridge, it creates a simple image.
Beautiful Sue!! Love how simple and relaxed you are 💕 in creating your pieces! Just one question plz, after using the cutter, how many hours did you wait again to get the leaf out from the rest of the resin sheet? By using the cutter, was the leaf totally separated or you had to cut with scissors around the leaf margin to get it out? Using the cake cutter is inspiring, gave me many ideas! Love it Thanks
Hi, thanks for the tutorial, when I used this technique, my colors mixed and my waves became very washy with the layer underneath. Would you explain why would this happen? Is there any tips about the viscosity or the concentration of the colors that I should be ware of? Thanks again 🤲
If your colours are blending and running too much. Let them sit for about half an hour before pouring the clear and white layers. If that doesn't work, then try a different brand of resin. Good luck. 💕
Absolutely amazing, i tried but failed (not to mention for the first time although I've worked with epoxy deep pour casting). I was wondering what mixing ratio epoxy you use, mine is 3:1 and the clear just penetrates the metalic epoxy and white tend to flow away on its own. The board was absolutely leveled. Thanks. Does it something thing to do with my epoxy, do I need coating epoxy instead of casting epoxy??
Thank you 💕 I don't do workshops because I always wear a respirator when working with resin. Meaning, people can't hear what I am saying through it. If you are wanting to chat about it, you will find me at the Village Art Gallery in Whiteman Park and I am part of the Mundaring Hills Open Studios this year.
Beautiful work!!! and you make it look easy, I am just wondering as you say in the video to use white pigment paste, is there a particular brand that works better than others? I really want to try this but I want to make sure I have the right paints etc to get the lacing, thank you in advance!!!
I love this beach seance, it is so peaceful. I love going to the coast and walking in the surf. I was wondering can you use a UV resin for this? And, can I color my resin with paints? I really want to try this, it is so beautiful! 😊
Do you mean a resin that requires a UV light for it to cure? You can use paint to colour your resin, remember to use less than 10% of paint in your resin. 💕
I wish is could see time stamps for the drying times between layers. I’m impatient which might be my problem. The clear coat before white, how long should that dry?
Thank you very much for the information, it looks great! At what temperature do you have the your heat gun when blowing the white waves to create cells and lacing? Thanks a lot!
Beautiful work! Thank you so much for sharing! May I ask, when you mix your resin to add the paint to it are you mixing it with the hardener as well? So it'll dry glassy with no extra steps?
Hi Sue, Please can you tell me the best way to get lacing on my waves? Whenever I try and make them, the white just goes all milky with no lacing or cells 😔 Many thanks. Vanessa. UK 🇬🇧
Did my first art pours this past two weekends, and did not get super results. I think the resin was too thin, because my powder pigments settled out and everything just ran together into a blob. What brand and type of resin are you using? Also, what brand of color? LOVE that work.
I use U Resin for my resin needs, they are based here in Australia. As for the colours used, you can find a list of all the products used in the description of the video. 💕
Hey I was wondering is there something we can replace the stand with since I got no beach around me , or If there is a place where to by sands , I’m from Canada , also u work very inspiring ❤️😍😍❤️
U Resin has UV inhibitors in it, meaning it has protection from UV light, which slows the yellow process down (all resins yellow over time). You do not need a UV lamp for this brand of resin.
At Approximately $70 per liter, I’m curious how much total resin was used to create this triple canvas artwork? As a graphic artist in Texas, I’d like to try to create one canvas like this for my wife for her birthday. Thank you.

Such of beautiful paintings, what kind of white paste do you use?
Check description, I have listed all the products used there. 💕

It is about half and half. Although I don't measure it, I just eyeball it. 💕

perfect work. Is white pigment mixed with epoxy to form cells? Is it necessary to mix silicone oil to get more cells?

So you did not add any catalyst in the resin? And the white you mixed with resin before pouring, is it like normal acrylic paints or pigments?
No, I am using a white pigment paste. (Le Rez Angel White) 💕
@@SueFindlay thank you ☺️.
What about the white resin we are using for lacing waves , is it preferred to be thin or thick ?
I use a medium viscosity resin. It isn't too thick or thin. 😁

If we dont live near a beach to get sand at what else would you reccomend adding to the resin to get the same sand look?

Powder pigment, you will find the full list in the description 💕
What is the white paste you are talking about ? Never heard of it

for coloring your resin do you use the liquid color or the powder?
I use both, it all depends on what I am working on. 💕
Sue Findlay what about the one in this video.
How long do you let the white sit before pouring?
About 5-10 minutes.
How much resin would you say one canvas takes? I’m trying to gauge how much to purchase for my first resin design.
U Resin has a handy calculator www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/

Heat gun vs hair dryer for creating cells?
