I agree with everybody else - these are stunning! The seafoam is so realistic and mesmerizing. I'd love to have a triptych of these. It's so relaxing to look at them. Thank you for posting! Blessings on you & yours & all who read this!
Thank you very much for such a good tutorial, thank you for sharing your knowledge, and thank you for leaving the description so complete in my language has been a great help
My mother in law moved near the ocean last year and we went for a visit this summer. My boys are 5 and 7 and we wanted to make some kind of beach art, they collected a bag of sea shells and I think this would be the perfect thing to try for them to make this year for a christmas gift for grandma
Nice. Note, I wouldn't recommend allowing your children to work with resin. Resin is a chemical and many people have developed allergic reactions. My suggestion is to get your boys to glue the shells to a board. You could always add resin at a later date. 💕
You are a true artist Sue, thank you for sharing your talent. My autistic son was watching over my shoulder then he laid his head down on me, positively captivated. I had him out kayaking with dolphins by age 2 so the beach has deep meaning for us. You have inspired me, I will make a couple of these pieces for him. xx :)
This is the best piece of doable art I've seen. I'm totally new to this. Would one of you help me out and tell me what exactly I would need to do this myself? Moslty what kind of resin and paint to use.
Hi Tyler, I started out by watching as many beginner videos as I could to help me get started. I have listed all the products I have used in the description below the video.
Thanks for a great video. I am casting Live Edge Tables with an epoxy river connecting the two slabs. I have not worked with sand before but a customer requested it and your video was very helpful. Thank you again
This is the first time I've seen anything like this, and I just fell in love! What an amazing talent you have. What type of a tint to you use to dye the resin, and what are people referring to when they ask about "cells"?
Thank you 💕 Firstly, I have listed all of the products used in the description below the video. Cells and lacing refers to the way the white breaks up to reveal the colours below.
Love your too Love your tutorials. So easy to follow. Did you use it on a board or placemat. Your list said placemat. If it’s a placemat, love that idea. I look forward to your videos. I learn so much and it inspires me. I am a newbie in resin. My medium is acrylic painting. Thank you.
Have been to Hawaii, swam and body surfed, The colors capture, and rekindle my memories . it is surreal. Maybe you have already, introduced rocks on your creations . I wonder if a tad of gray may communicate fish or a shark . You know Sue, you have something very special .
It is a combination of both, I have found the Le Rez Angel White paste to be the best for making cells and lacing. Heat plays a big factor also, I find it more difficult in the winter to achieve cells and lacing. So the use of a blow torch definitely helps. Just be careful not to burn your resin when using heat. Plus, always wear the appropriate safety gear when torching. The thicker your resin, the harder it is to achieve cells and lacing as well.
Hi Sue, Im going to attempt this tomorrow. I was to curious to know how much pigment you put in each cup for one of these art pieces? Im so excited!!! Your work is amazing.
I don't use a lot, I don't measure it as such, I scoop about a quarter of a teaspoon. When mixed in the resin, lift your stick out and let it run back into the cup, you will be able to see if the resin is still transparent and if you need to add more pigment. 💕
Thank you Sue, you have inspired me to quit work and retire do resin art for art shows. I started in July I and I sold my first 3. I used real sand from Lake Superior but I use liquid glue to hold it together then I resin over everything. I am making 5 today for an art show this weekend. Thank you so much for you inspiration. I really need to order the white for the waves but I have not been able to get it as it has been on backorder. Waves are the hardest part for me. I find it not as easy as yo make it. I am a very messy resin artist. I have never worked with resin but once I got my fingers in it I was sucked in to the silkiness of the paint I was doomed. My 4 year old granddaughter said "Nana you just can't wait to get your fingers into the paint again can you". Out of the mouth of babes. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
My pleasure Kimberly, resin does have that addictive nature to it. Congratulations on sell your first 3 and good luck with your art show. I hope you make lots of sales 💕
I really love how you did this, the tapping with your fingers really does give it a true ocean effect. Thank you for sharing you techniques, very kind of you to do that.
Interesting, I used to live in Formby, UK (I am assuming there is only one). Just make sure your sand is fully dry and run it through a sieve to remove any unwanted debris. Good luck 💕
I LOVE this video and it is just perfect because I am going to be making epoxy resin gifts for Christmas and almost everyone on my list is a beach lover! Thank you so much!
wow just built a jungle/ Caribbean bar so im going to see if this works on the worktop!! so cool ill have get sand from a craft shop as our nearest beach is pebbles!! so good
Thank you, it isn't difficult, you just need to believe that you can do it and my best tip I can give you, is don't over work it (or think it). Just go for it!
Than you Sue. Inspirational as always! I have been planning to do the resin beach scene but the ideas were overwhelming for me. You make it look easy! Since I have the supplies will try this. Thanks for sharing.
I LOVED THIS VIDEO! I subscribed & pressed your bell! I live 3 minutes from the beach! I think I shall visit the beach tomorrow & pick up a bag of sand! Thank you so much! 🤗🐇💗💕. So inspired from your video!
O. M. Gosh!!! I NEED to make this. When I go back home to my home town in NH, I can get sand and shells from my favorite beach, and take it back to Maine after vacation. Then I can have a piece of my beach with me! :D Thanks for the tutorial!

Glad it was helpful! 😁

Thanks! I really want to do this with my beach loving mom.
Did you wait from laying down the sand to doing the colors?

My pleasure, I am glad it was helpful. Good luck with your project. 😁
Very informative video, and the end result is just stunning. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome 💕
It is so realistic. I can feel the breeze and smell the salty sea. Thanks for the idea. I know I will be doing this.
My pleasure, glad it has inspired you to create your own version. 💕
Absolutely lovely...love the way the cells are created. Thanks for the inspiration. Hoping to do one of my own soon
Thank you and you’re welcome 💕
Best example out there. Simple process for a very good effect.
Glad you think so! 😁
i would love to make one of these some day soon! never done anything like it, but these are beautiful!
Thank you 💕
Very very nice especially how you show the white over the sand making it look so authentic
Thank you so much 😊

I did use a placemat, quite often I use the placemats when I am experimenting. 💕
Thank you for your quick reply. I will try it on placemat. Sandy
If your piece were horrible, i would still never miss your narration. your voice and accent is miraculously beautiful.
haha, thank you 💕 I don't like to watch or listen to my videos, because of my accent LOL
♥ You really have made this look easy
(I'm sure it's not)
First video I've seen that makes me feel like I could do this, thank you :-)
Thank you 💕 the trick is to not over work it 💕
The lacing is gorgeous
Thank you 💕
Beautiful work, Sue! You have a great talent. New subscriber. :)
Thank you Jeff 💕
Do you ever do your pieces in layers, one day sand next day water then another layer of water? It will give more depth to your lovely pieces.

Hi Sue, do the cells appear because of the pigment you used or is it from the resin? Great piece! I would love to try this!

What did you put in the paint for it to make cells
@@SueFindlay o
@@debramoran7064 I've read that you can use a generic white with the addition of a little bit of a silicon spray to make good cells!
You have inspired me. I love the one with lots of White Sea foam
Thank you 💕 I am delighted this video has inspired you 💕

Gorgeous!
I’m guessing you add a way to hang it up before you create the art? I would love to have a bunch of these.
Thank you 💕 I glue a hanger d-ring to the back, using resin. I do this after I have created it, so I know which way is up.
Superb as always. Thanks Sue.
Deborah Russell thank you 💕
How much resin did you use for this project? I am in love with this! You did a brilliant job on them!
I used about 250mls of resin. 💕

They all go through an ugly stage. Some stay that way, I might add, 😆 but others come good. 😁
