    I like this video so much better than the older ones. This one is much more thoroughly explained from the very beginning to the very end. At first, I only ordered my kit to make the Brass Marble table and while I was waiting for it to come, I continued watching as many videos as I could and learned something new each time. So I had to place multiple orders on SCC website, as well as Amazon to make sure I had all the tools and supplies necessary. Then even after finishing our countertop I had to go track down the top coat video to see if it needed to be sanded before we apply the last layer. It was a pain in the neck process to acquire everything and get started and after finishing it last night, I was watching more videos today and realized that we did need a base layer white paint on top of the bonding primer that I ordered. 😟 My husband mistakenly assumed the kits came with everything you needed, but they do not. So, I read all the descriptions many times and it was not clear if you needed both, one or the other or when you need one vs the other. So I took a guess and guessed wrong, now my corners are having a hard time sticking to the epoxy. Not sure if coincidence or what but I just was feeling so much more prepared after watching this video than the older ones. Thank you so much SCC Team!!! Can’t wait to start my next project!!! 🥰

    Great stuff. Love your vids. I'm a certified scuba instructor and travel the world diving. One of our main rules is, "Look, but don't touch." Scooping up that sand under the water disturbs the small animals that live in it. So please....don't dig your hands in and touch. That ocean environment is beautiful, but also very sensitive to changes. Look all you want, enjoy, but don't touch anything under the water.

      I too preferred the shinier top coat, but for the dining room, both for durability and so as not to have so much reflection while sitting around the table. Don't know about y'all but our dining table is a place to sit, play games, and sit around yakking. I think the softer light refraction is better for all of that. Art in the wall, bar tops, coffee tables give me the store shine! Lol

    • @kathic8823
      @kathic8823 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! The sand seemed a bit too sparkly after the diamond dust - but that Ultimate Top Coat added just the right kind of dampening effect to make it seem natural. The table was gorgeous with the shiny coat, and could have been left that way - but IMHO, the satin-finish achieved with the UTC made it look 10x classier and more natural. I wouldn't do any of it differently. It's perfect!

    Mike as an artist from Europe with 45 years experience in exhibiting and teaching portraiture and landscape in all mediums. I am in fact a pastel specialist. Epoxy is new to me. I would dearly love you to develop a 'satin' ultimate top coat. Mid way between matte and gloss. It could seriously be a game changer. eventually a full gloss one sure, but why not take an easy mid way step. As I understand it the matte does give total scratchproof qualities?
    Has anyone actually mixed ultimate with Art or gloss top coat?
    I would have added some variation to the sand. When wet it is darker than when dry - you could play with that with some well chosen colour additives. In oils I would use a mix of brown. and a yellow green.
    Finally I teach colour theory and have done for 35 years in colleges an Europe wide. I can help you with that on a level which you need for your business if it will help you - to get a really good grip on that. Just let me know. You also need tonal values understanding it goes hand in hand with Colour theory.
    Your product and your videos are inspiring. Oh yes I shall be delving into it. Too tempting not too. I love a medium challenge and this is it.

    I think the top coat is perfect for a table or a piece your gonna use. But for art purposes I love the glassy finish! Also love the sand with the diamond dust! AND I love how you did the waves all the way down over the sand, looks realistic!

    In poured urethane gym floors, we use a heavy nap roller to apply the top coat, then immediately followed by a shorter nap dry roller to remove lap marks. Very similar process. This is right up my alley

      @@StoneCoatCountertops I'm going to attempt to make a counter top for my bathroom, using a mold I'm going to make, instead of putting it on top of the existing counter or anything else. I want it to look like the counter itself is just water.

    Absolutely gorgeous. My son and I prefer the shiny top coat. If the white stuff on the shelves behind the table weren't obscuring the amazing blues 💙 everyone might agree. The wet and shiny sand was also a plus! Thank you. Wish I could do this for a living!

    One of the most thorough and well done resin tutorials I have come across- and trust me, I have watched a ton. I love how you incorporated your vacation in to the video as well, it kinda broke up the process but also made it entertaining. This is the only resin tutorial I have EVER watched until the end. Love your work, you guys are awesome. Subscriber for life.

      @@StoneCoatCountertops HOLY COW I never expected a response!!! Too cool!! But yes I actually have a similar sized round wooden table that this project would be perfect on.
